My hair is black. wyre you are not allowed to dye your hair black, that is haraam. But, I believe you can color your hair any other color - that even there is some kind of controversy. There was one hadith where the Prophet csw told his companions that they can ask Allah swt anything that their heart desires and they were like "that is too much" and the prophet replied "Allahu akthar" (which means "Allah is more" more than anything that they can ask for and it is in the same comparative form as Allahu Akbar)..

The key word is sincerity. I don't know if Allah swt will forgive someone if they have every intention to go back to their bad habits. As all deeds are based on intentions.
