It doesn't matter what system of government we adopt as long as the constitution, legislations, rules and regulations are not adhered to and as long as there is no strong and independent judiciary.

Probably from eating Monkeys. Fruit bats; at least some species, are hosts to Ebola, and through their droppings or fruit they have come in contact with, can infect other non-human primates such as gorillas and chimpanzees; a delicacy in that area of Africa.

Saalax, what happened to the peace agreement and the threat of severe punishment against whoever breaks it first? This geeljire mentality has to stop, xataa markuu roobka saa'id u da'o dagaal socdo waa yaab since I believe it has to do with dhul geela daaqo.

Galbeedi, actually Anwar iyo Maxaadir are allies now. Maxaadir Maxamed is just placeholder until Anwar is pardoned from his wrongly convicted crimes, which Maxaadir said will happen next month. Maxaadir will only be prime minister for two years and Anwar's wife will be Maxaadir's deputy prime minister, as per party agreement.

indeed, the story of Gedo Community is one of resilience and sheer willpower to forge ahead despite the difficult circumstances, there are a couple of other regions that are similar. Just a few months ago, we saw hundreds of ordinary people of Balad-Hawo facing off Kenyan troops and halting the so-called "Border wall" of encroaching on Somali territory.

Maakhiri1, It has to happen. Why would people have to remain poor and support a concept that creates a big fat bureaucracy. . People need direct democracy to elected their own regional leaders and go directly under the federal government. The meagre resources can not be divided by these four level governments. For example, in Galmudug, you got "Gobol iyo Badh" and over hundred members of the local parliament. This is the money that supposed to build roads and clinics.

This whole federalism is garbage. Gedo needs to create their own maamul that reports to Mogadishu, directly without going thro illiterate Madoobe.

I Am one of those who believe that the federal system could be made simple. The federal system was agreed during the road map of 2011 without detail specifics. Since the regional governments and their their governing system is becoming more centralized than the federal government, they should be made smaller and accessible the people they supposed to serve. Regions like GEdo, Bakool or Sanaag have been neglected due to the concentration of power in the so called administrative capitals. In Jubba Land , there is Kismaayo and nothing else. Madoobe would not spare anything for Gedo or anywhere else. The real battle of federalism will take place sooner than later. The Somali people might want a federal system, but they do not want to create another a huge bureaucracy in one city while other places are neglected. I would have made it simple, like 18 regions under the federal system. As I said before , these regions do not have the capacity or mechanism to build tax and income generating system , so, in order to survive and rule their subjects, they rely on the money from donors. Since the donor money is being regulated these days, they have to to the UAE and others to get some cash to fix internal problems. The so called idea of security training both in Puntland and Jubbaland benefits directly for the leaders to control the salary and how it is disbursed. The current system will keep regions like Gedo for ever poor, because the Gedo middle class and the elite will be either residing Kismaayo, Mogadishu or Nairobi. Also, there is large Gedo community, mostly students and their family in Borama who adopted well in the city just like others from Puntland and Mogdishu. This community has paid a huge price to keep Somalia free from total Krnyan domination and Ethiopian control of Jubba region. Without them, Ethiopia and her allies would have taken Kismaayo and the region long ago. They have also supported the national government whether the president is C/laahi Yusuf, Hassan Sheikh or Farmaajo. Without Gedo community Kenya would have annexed the Jubba regio long ago. Yet, without total peace in Jubbaland , Gedo will not prosper. The first step is to remove the Kenyan army from the land and recreate a new Jubba administration supported by the local people. Everyone knows that a Jubbaland administration created by the occupying army will not survive when Kenyan troops leave. The Gedo people are fine Somali nationalist that must be helped in these difficult times.
