Though there is no concrete evidence that connects Somaliland with Godane other than his origin and Somaliland being spared from his attacks, this persistent media assault by Puntland will leave a mark. Somaliland is waging the same propaganda war but unfortunately for them they have higher stakes in protecting their reputation than Puntland because of their ambitions to secede.
