According to Yale's EPI website, "The Environmental Performance Index (EPI) ranks how well countries perform on high-priority environmental issues in two broad policy areas: protection of human health from environmental harm and protection of ecosystems. It is constructed through the calculation and aggregation of 20 indicators reflecting national-level environmental data. These indicators are combined into nine issue categories, each of which fit under one of two overarching objectives."

"The two objectives that provide the overarching structure of the 2014 EPI are Environmental Health and Ecosystem Vitality. Environmental Health measures the protection of human health from environmental harm. Ecosystem Vitality measures ecosystem protection and resource management. These two objectives are further divided into nine issue categories that span high-priority environmental policy issues, including air quality, forests, fisheries, and climate and energy, among others. "

This reminds of the recent tiff between Facebook and Princeton University. According to Princeton a study, Facebook would lose 80 percent of its users by 2015-2017. In response Facebook not only calls the study absurd but uses the study's to prove Princeton will lose all its students by 2021. This Yale EPI too its absurd. How does Somalia come anywhere near place like Beijing where people have to wear masks to be able to go out and India with highest rate of lung issues due to all the pollutants in the air.

Khayr

All these studies are self serving.

How does Air Quality in Somali come last to that of

China?

How do underdeveloped countries that are owned by the IMF, get graded on waste water system development?

reer Somalia's picturesque coastal areas are filled with nuclear waste. again, this hardly shocks. another reason which explains reer Somalia's pitiful standing in the EPI world rankings is deforestation.
