Breaking news: Egypt Coup d'état, Morsy overthrown.

Recommended Posts

The military should never have allowed the Islamic brotherhood to contest the election. Egyptions wanted democracy and they are smart enough to not let a bunch of Neanderthals hijack all their hard Wark. Islamic political party is an oxymoron, these people should stay in their mosques and leave governing to competent people trained in that field. As for all this bs about secularist, there is a simple difference between a secularist and those for theocracies: one will die so that you may exercise your rights and other will kill you for doing. It's thanks to secularism that all of you in the west can practice your believes in peace. If these "gaalo" thought like some of you, we would all be attending mass on Sunday. Caqlixumo.

I agree Islam is incompatible with democracy, the results are in and it has been shot down everytime by the West with the examples of Hamas, Algeria, Pakistan and now Egyptian coup. This is hikmah there can be no compromise with Secular Systems, there can only be a complete implementation of Islam for it to work.

Apparently these “neanderthals" make up 51.7% of the voters. I'm disappointed by the irrationality and flagrant bias displayed by so called “secularists".

Secularists are making a mistake, this will only unify and embolden Islamists, now they know there is no fair game here and they will never be respected following Secular law.

another ignorant geel jire secularist wanabe twisting history.. Sxb Naxar Islam has been successfully practiced within the mosque and also inside parliaments for centuries and it created a very rich, tolerant, sophisticated, cohesive and enlightened society . If muslims did not contribute to science, medicine, philosophy, maths and astronomy you wouldn't be able to blog on SOL and that was thanks to its leaders encouraging freedom of expression and creativity. and also if muslims were what your describing a 12 million egyptian coptics Christians would've been attending friday prayers by now, but Islam respected their believe system and they were full citizens of the Empire for 1400 years contrary to the Europians who successfully whipped out Islam from Spain and Portugal.

I've always disliked the MB because of their name...in fact, they should ban them again until they change the name of their political movement. If they claim to be Muslims, marka yaa gaala ah? No one party should have a monopolistic use of the word Islam or Muslim!

Also, it might help to broaden your base of supporters, because even if half the country voted for them, they other half were against them, and that's just too many people.

What's your point? Obama and Bush had an even less percentage to win their elections, does that make them illegitmate as well??

Ofcourse the rules don't apply only when it comes to Muslims.

Whoa buddy geel ma aragtay ee weydee iskaba da geel jire. Seriously am huge fan muslim societies long long ago in Cordoba, damascus, Baqhdad and Mughul India. These were very tolerant societies that valued justice, education, philosophy, the sciences and innovation. What surrounds you today from the suads, the talibans, and the salafist, and the shababs, and the xamas and hisbullah and al-queda miles and miles different then those societies who progressive values you abhor but are willing to take credit for their success. Continuation of the hypocrisy I was speaking of.

Apophis, walahi I thought your new found spirituality was sarcasm, but I was wrong. Congrats but keep in mind, more then anyone, its is people like you with violent swings ideology that are in need of secularism. In many parts of the Muslim... I think you get the message. As for the MB being democratically elected, do they even believe in democracy? there are a lot of muslim "parties" that want to use democracy to destroy democracy: MB, Ennahda, AKP, Hamas lol.

There is no need to demonize Secularism, in fact it would is simple panacea for all that ails the Muslim world today, it a simple philosophy of to each his own just even the Quran points out "lakum dinukum waliyadin"

Egypt troops kill pro-Morsi marchers

Egyptian security forces have opened fire on supporters of ousted Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi in Cairo, killing three people.

The incident occurred as crowds gathered outside the officers' club of the Presidential Guard, where Mr Morsi is believed to be held.

Its begins

I have no "new found spirituality", whatever that is. I just have no time or patient for irrationality cloaked under atheism. And it's ironic you accuse me of "violent swings of ideology" when it is you, here, that is arguing for exactly that.

The "religion is the root of all evil" mantra/ mind set is getting old sxb. I suggest you set aside emotions and open your eyes to reason .

I have never said religion is the root of evil, frankly, as long people as people use their believes for themselves, they can be the most hard core of whatever they like. As for as violent, one minute advocating atheism and another sharia. but hey that besides the point. Secularism is neither for or against religion. its a common sense, logical idea that civic interaction should be free personal beliefs, not sure what that has to do with atheism. In all honesty good luck with experimentation in trying with your attempt at finding equilibrium of Marxist/stalinist/sharia and whatever other ism you want throw in that pot.

Have to agree with what you said naxar. Islam is a religion peace and a muslim is a person who makes his 5 daily prayers, gives donations to the poor and makes the fasting and if able goes to mekka.

But those who try to use religion as a reason gain political power are doomed to fail. let' take for example that an islamic party takes power in a state. What's then the definition of an "islamic state" ? Iran where turban-only men rule in the name of islam? And if anyone speaks against them (corruption among clerics is high in iran ) is branded as a god-less non-muslim?

Or is the definition of an islamic state saudi Arabia? a king with billions in his coffins and has this with blessings of the clerics? I cant find other examples but muslims should not be fooled by lying politicans who try to use the noble message of Islam as divine step to power Islam is a divine religion that answers existential questions that anyone asks himself in life.. It's a religion with core values that helps the fabric of society and teaches love and compassion.

In Somalia, before the advent of politicized islam (wahabism) Clerics or wadaads were those who chose a spiritual life. They were often affiliated a sunni sufi order and wanderd around the horn. They often came to villages and were poor. The villagers would shelter him and he himself would teach the children basic islamic rituals and creed.

In fact the earliest tribal-mixed islamic settlements in Sooomaliya was in Baardheere. Somali nomads abandoned their nomadism and became farmers and joined what we call xerta (sufi lodge). They gradually forgot tribalism and that settlement became one of the most mixed villages in southern Somalia. The leader of settlement was often the Shaykh. The rituals then were

often prayers and recitatiin of the quran and siyaaro (visiting muslim holy sites). The wadaad in the past did not engage in politics, it was a taboo for a sheekh to engage in tribal wars or infact utter a word about it.

That changed in Somalia. We are now seeing bearded mean beheading other muslims all in the name of Allah, asburd is it not!

Ilaahay ha naga qabto dadka dhibaatada wado!

You're an irrational hypocrite sxb, like all liberals. If 51.7% of Egyptian people voted for an Islamic party then democratic principles dictate that such a party holds mandate and should rule accordingly. They should govern the country according to their manifesto. If 51.7% of Egyptians voted for a liberal party you wouldn't be here disparaging them and supporting such party to be overthrown. This is why you, and anyone who supports this takeover, is an irrational hypocrite.

Khadafi ancient Somalis were smart. They used two wards to differentiate between clergy and laymen, to them you were either wadaad or waranle. The wadaad would come, bless the political proceedings or Shir and be on his way. 2013 and all sectarian violence that we see everywhere, and everyone is blind to the simple benefit of secular government to both the state and religion itself, how can you respect a political shaikh lol.
