So you are USP? Can't tell much difference between them diaspora based bitter former USP

supporters and the southerners. They all have a fear of Somaliland. Stating the facts

isn't racism, Somalilanders and southerners are very different ethnic groups.

The South had little to do with the Somaliland independence movement , SYL was not even known in Somaliland when the brits gave hawd and reserve area to Haile selasie. Thats when the Somaliland elites started being worried and they only believed that they could get that land back if they united with the Koonfurians the dissatisfaction with the brits was enormous. But the Koonfurians had little to do with it. Still i dont see anything wrong with what the 2 men from borama said , independence means nothing if you are ruled by another country. I understand these men from borama

So Saalax, Do you imply Somaliland is currently lacking the fabric of whole USP?

I don't think he wants to be Somali , why cant he be a Kenyan, Kenya is more productive has much better economy than Somalia its a economic power house in the region. Why on earth would he want to be from Somalia makes no sense. He should be glad that he is from a prosperous proud African nation. Why would he want to be part of the most failed state in the world i believe brother haatu will embrace his Kenyannimo very soon and he should not look back. He should uphold the Somali identity as being part of Kenya.

Good points. But Gariisa isn't really developed as compared to say the Luo headquarters of Kisumu, or

coastal groups land of Mombasa or Kikuyu's Eldoret. He feels like a 4th rate citizen hence the attempt

to escape from Kenya.

If you're happy to be a Kenyan why are you butting yourself in issues between the northern elite league and

the southern scrap metal looters union?

In a good way. No one needs USP bitter minority supporters who would rather want to be ruled from Mogadishu than

Hargeysa. Fortunately they mostly reside in the diaspora and have limited influence back home.

+1, and there are many more sources. Anyone familiar with the modern history of the Horn of Africa can tell you that British Somaliland's nationalist movement and independence was precipitated by nationalist activity in the South and its scheduled independence date of 1960, and that unification occurred with the mass enthusiasm of Somalis in both regions. If you believe in the post-1991 independence of Somaliland, that is your position, but trying to erase Somalia and Somaliland's history to fit your nationalism will not work. Just own it and focus on the present, that is developing a state in the context of state collapse and post-collapse.

After independence by lowell barrington,

The Hizbullah and SNS were established 2 years after Sheikh bashiirs death in burco, it was actually the other way around the SNL and USP delegations were lobbying for Somali galbeed but it failed. If you look at Africa though the vast majority of African nations were given around the same time.

They should work hard to make a different and develop the NFD region and become full fledged kenyans and dont look back to Somalia. Most of them are doing that though now and days and are showing no mercy to Somalia and are supporting the Kenyan troops in Somalia. Many are part of the kenyan army. The Kenyans should fight for equality justice although the Somalis are outnumbered by Kikuyu luos and Luhyas and other tribes. Atleast their country is making progress.

Truth has to be told. Those who hate the glorious SNM and its baby Somaliland

will not be given a warm welcome until they repent.
