Somaliland:Hargeisa International airport revamp entering final stage of work

 

Hargeisa-The reconstruction of Hargeisa International airport runway is now its final stage according to the Aviation and transport Ministry.

The Minister of Aviation and Air Transport Mohamed Hashi Ahmed accompanied by the Director General has supervised the final stage of the restoration of the runway.

The Minister held press conference at the airport’s VIP lounge and made public that there are small activities going on in the runway that saw revamp for the past few months.

The Minister has added that once the work is accomplished, the runway will be put into operation.

^^ The guys who are doing job must be from India, or from Turkey, they seem Turkish, well done anyway for bringing the equipment and getting the contract.

 

 

Other than that, the terminal needs to get bigger, the current one looks more like hotel

Its a Turkish company who were already based in Djibouti. The intention was to extend the runway to attract the larger planes. I just hope the budget of $4m was enough to do a proper job. Concrete and steel reinforcement from about 2m below ground is required and that is expensive.

it seems like Mohanad has finally achieved something of 'substance'. for a man who spends all his time deciding the colours of tiles for the airport toilets, he's done okay.

NORF,

 

Why don't you go back and work on the project yourself- the homeland needs skills like yours (I'm only assuming that you're in engineering from your posts above). Just came back from my uncles house and according to him there is a massive shortage of qualified and skilled engineers.
