USC

 

Somali civilian show their support to a group of Somali United Congress (USC) rebels, armed on a tank, January 30, 1991 in Mogadishu four days after the

government in Mogadishu was dismantled in 1991 January 26, Somalia. Rebel troops of the Somali United Congress (USC) took control of Mogadishu,

after a three week long war with Government troops.

SNM

Meanwhile, SNM forces have pushed the front towards the east by taking Odweina on February 15 and Ainabo, 120 km east of Burao on the road by Mogadishu,

at the end of the month. They claimed to have killed over 1,000 SNA soldiers in 1988. The SNM liberated Ceerigaabo also in 1989.

The Somali National Movement (SNM) gained control of the north, while in the capital of Mogadishu and most of southern Somalia, the United Somali

Congress achieved control.

The sad thing is that there is no enough well written and documented literature about the events that happened at that vital but bloody part of somali history.....Ku tiri ku teen ayuun baa meel kasta taal...

The day the Somali people were liberated from 21 year dictatorship that destroyed many lives its one to remember indeed. Dictatorial regimes has ruined many places in Africa and the former Somali republic is not an exception.

Or he could be the Ethnic Somalilander based in Mogadishu who joined the ranks of the USC few days before the fall of Gen siyad bare , walahi waxad mooda in dhoobadu meel laga wada qaaday
