not sure about the sayid's gabay but given his other braggadocio in the back and forth with his adversaries, i'd say waa boota soomaali...

 

special relationships always exist by way of xeer/customary law and that's different. two clans can be so intertwined in their social affairs that they even help each other pay the mag/diya half half!

 

where i come from, we have several agreements with other clans, we intermarry like crazy and wont be surprised - like i said earlier- if we claim others as our own and they in turn do the same...

 

this is borne out by the fact that clans which don't have geneological links/same "fathers" with one another can claim to be of the same clan family. a good example is the grave-peeps of baladweyna (xaax-wads-latte) and h-block...no h in the fathers of grave-peeps...but tell the grave-peeps they are not h and they will shoot you dead no?

 

bottomline -there is no doubt about our somaliness, but i'd take the rest with a bag of salt...
