Yep, they're just as much part of the established structures of organization & belief... no matter how hard they try to deny it lol

Not any more than you're an atheist for rejecting all Gods except Allah. Fear Allah my friend.

It is interesting that the biggest world religions evolved at a time when most of humanity couldn't read or write relying wholly on mystics and clerics to explain just about every phenomenon they couldn't fathom from movement of the sun to life after the grave. Very few people belong to religions that are less than 300 years old. This fact is important because modern science was born about 300 years ago. Science, being better at explaining mysteries and offering more plausible explanations for our place in the universe, has all but rendered organized religions obsolete. In the West, religion is completey dead irrespective how many people profess membership in a particular religion. The violence and fanaticism accompanying the so-called Islamic Revivalism is emblematic of Islam's final death throes as the faithful are realizing the painful reality that Islam is slowling withering away into irrelevency just like Christianity in Europe few centuries ago.

Bold statement without real evidence.

The irony here world religions facilitated advances in science and culture.

^these insecure atheists insert Islam in everything. If the topic were about global warming, they would still find a way to bash Islam.

It's the contrary of what he's claiming; Islam is said to be growing faster than other religions.

My thing is why does it bother them that someone believes in God? And what's with the idea that violence is manifested through a particular belief system while history shows humanity will construct any system to justify violence.

Reminds me of Oscar Wilde's epigram: “Religions die when they are proved true. Science is the record of dead religions”.

Is it, though?

Diinta waa caqiido with cilm; wax qofku aamino oo nafsadiisa ku qanacdo regardless of wax dad suubiyaan in the name of diinta. Hadaad caqiiqadaada iyo diintaa ku xiran tahay behavior or impression of others; and wish to solicit the acceptance of others; awalba dadnimo ma jirin. One can't give up his faith convictions and principle fearing others forming negative opinion. A lot more bad things have been done historically in the name of a religion and it ain't Islam alone.

Che -Guevara and Jacpher: While your distrust of Wikipedia is understandable, the point was that claims to be the fastest-growing religion are all too common and unless there is a comprehensive study showing that Islam is the fastest-growing religion, any claim saying as such will hold no more nor less water than that of any other religion making the same claim.

^For someone who isn't persuaded there is purpose to life and God exists, no amount of 'comprehensive study' is gonna move one way or another. Whether Islam grows quicker than other religions is statistical observations, not tool used to convince others Islam is a truer path than other religions in my opinion. Now if you are refuting such stats, I think Wikipedia won't cut it.
