UZTAAD Posted April 4, 2012 All guests were thoroughly frisked as they entered the theatre, so suspicions are growing that it may have been an inside job. It has also prompted people to question why officials would publicise the event when the government is unable to guarantee security - even for its own prime minister. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-17609047

General Duke Posted April 4, 2012 It could be. Abdiweli is a nationalist who has worked overtime to bring common sense to the nation. He has many enemies.
Libaax-Sankataabte Posted April 4, 2012 It is possible that the purpose was to change the narrative? The narrative that our beloved capital is slowly rebuilding? But then again I do wonder if Al-Shabaab would be that media savy to be sending this sort of message in light of what the Gray Lady (NYT) was publishing yesterday. Regardless of what the plan was, this is how some in the media are headlining. Remember yesterday's nice story about Mogadishu's turnabout? If anything, this cowardice act would only garner more support for the beleaguered TFG. May Allah have mercy on the dead. This is truly heartbreaking for every Somali. Somalia Posted April 4, 2012 So the President was going but he decided not to attend at the last minute? Here's the bomb blast on tape, look how Abdiweli is pushed back. __________________________________________________ ______
Mario B Posted April 4, 2012 This is where I disagree with the my tolka from PL, stop seeing everything from the prism of Garowe. If you dont have proof for any of these claims then you might be commiting sin. The PM should just beef up his security.
UZTAAD Posted April 4, 2012 shabaab say it planted explosives not a suicide bomb. it will soon be known who was behind it, may be some government officials had previous knowledge the explotion and that why is prisedent sharif & Tarsan did not attend the event. but it would soon be clear who behind it. if shabaab carried out this it must got helpfrom people who are in the government. General Duke Posted April 4, 2012 Whatever this was, Abdiweli will only die when his time comes. He will not be deterred from his task at hand, to end the transition.

Gheelle.T Posted April 4, 2012 AS has claimed the responsibility of this attack. And it's possible that Al-Shabab to have infiltrated the TFG's lower level security establishment, hence why the alleged suicide bomber(lady) has passed through the check points. But it's quite preposterous to suggest that the president or anyone in higher office of this government would have hand in this. that's just absurd. bilan Posted April 4, 2012 Come on guys, this is not the first time AS did something like this, so why is this surprising? There is no way President had a hand on this, he appointed Abdiweli and if he wants to get rid of him, he will appoint Gaas’s cousin, so why would he have to go all the trouble of killing him.
