Xaaji Xunjufs Poems/Curses Against Somalia

Xaaji Xunjuf is the most recent character that is prominently featuring in the now underway 'Recognize Somaliland' campaing. Although his messages, strategies and general approaches are not different than what Somaliland supporters have been doing in the last twenty odd years, his tone significantly departs from the societal norms Somalis are long accustomed. The way this characters boldly buttresses recognition campaign with the current tragedies and civil war wounds of Somalia is so wickedly organized and procured to misleadingly depict a political contrast, which in large part is nonexistent. 'Koonfurians', in Mr. Xunfuf lingo, are flesh eating cannibals, dancing atop of decomposing carcass of own kin in the ungoverned space that is Somalia. Somaliland, on the other hand, is a shining city on the northern hill with progressive systems, and flourishing trade, waiting to be bestowed with recognition from responsible nations. To the former there is no hope for salvation; for the second, her exemplary deeds qualifies heavenly reward!

 

When Xaaji Xunjuf does not find a useful material for his contrast to back up the recognition campaign, he resorts to poetic curses albeit implicitly buried in the recognition campaign. This comes in the form of framing and exaggerating nomadic conflicts, hunting for articles that bash the conflict stricken nation, and at times even going as far as making up stories to keep the base of negativity.

 

In keeping with the poetic tradition of Somali people, xiin will translate Xaaji Xunjuf's effort in few stanzas to crystallize Mr Xunjuf's wicked nature for the large, SOL readership. xiin will offer, again in keeping with our nomadic tradition, a response to challenge this character, and to some extent, shoot down the larger message:

Allahoyow diyaar baan ahayn tan iyo dayrtiiye

Demoqraadi waataan galniyo doorashiyo khayre

Eebow inaan daahirnaa dunidu doonaynene

Midnimiyo dal aan jirin bay intaa nagula doodaane

Muqdishoy intaa noo diraan, iyo dalkaa jabaye

Allahoyaw Dadka baaba'ayey intaa nala damcaayaane

 

Koonfurtani inay duugantaa malaha door-roone

Hadday wada daguugmaan waxbaa noo dirqi lahaaye

Nuur iyo dab baa bixi lahaa degeladeenaane'e

Allow dananka noo yeel adaan daahiroon dhicine

 

Kuwa daanta bari naga xigaan daacad noqonayne

Anagaa naloo diray iyo inay teenna dumiyaaane

Allow dakhalka jabi oo ka yeel dayday iyo tuugo

 

Shabaabkuna danteennay hayyaan daacad hadalkiiye

Waxaynu ku hishiineynaa nabad, somalinimo, derisnimo, deegaan, ehelnimo.. I won't go as far as garoowe and beyond because of clan leanage and you won't go either to berbera/hargaysa and further for the same reason..
