Paragon, I totally agree with you.... by the way, watch out for art, he is a shareholder of ASX (Range resources).

You will read him repeat this again and again.

"...Being an expatriat, lives in a life of relative luxury unlike his brethren in Somalia. Range will share their rewards with the local people, one wonders how much Paragon contributes to the betterment of his mother country. "

In my opinion, as long as Cade's nephew is an Executive Director in the company, RR will never dig a hole anywhere in Nugaal I can promise you that.

Its quite sad really.

Also, I wonder if General Duke has family living in the Bare region of Somalia.

It wouldn't suprise me at all.

It's really amazing for me to see the absurdity of the arguments and sheer ignorance put forward by some people in here!

art, if I were you, I wouldn't waste my time with the likes of Paragon and Uchi!

I will elaborate why!

Firstly Paragon is some confused person, who has got some absurd ideas! It might not come to a surprise to you, but he's in fact a socialist!

I guess, this explains everything. Lately, he was boasting about the UIC (Union of Islamic Courts) successes in Mogadishu, when I clearly remember that he used to advocate socialism as the only way forward to the problems of Somalia.

So why the sudden change? Why concern with yourself with a country you like to see separated into tribal fiefdoms?

The answer is quite evident, the man has got a problem with Abdullahi Yusuf's (President of Somalia) and Cade Muuse Xirsi's subclan, but this is only a personal thing and not something shared by his subclan, because the presidents subclan and his are two very close subclans, who share not only their father but also their mother (Somalis have more then one wife, as islam allows four wifes at a time), so the clans, that share's father and mother instead of only father are logically much more closer!

I also remember, when he put a couple of weeks ago a ridiculously idea forward in which he argued, that only one Somali clan benefits only from a united Somalia and that all other clans want to secede from it because the other clans history and heritage are marginalized by a superior legacy of the one clan that benefits from a greater Somalia/united Somalia!

That guy is a sell-out and I would not engage him anymore! Soon, his hatred will become quite apparent for all of us to see. He has managed to control it so far but soon his subconscious will bring it out inshallaah!

Then this leaves me with the youngster Uchi, our australian young man, who doesn't know anything about Somalia apart what Isa Dhallowa, Somalitalk, Garooweonline.com and his close relative, that used to live with him in Australia and got Australian citizienship but who now lives in Garoowe tells him now and then.

He's simply envious because his close relative a certain man called Dr. Faroole (remember him) was disgracefully stripped of his cabinet posts because he stormed out of the parliament after President Cade has reappointed him back as the Minister for Development and International affairs, but when he was due to be approved by parliament and his name was called out he stormed out of the parliament, saying that he was 'cheated' and a conspiracy was going on, that he would not be approved by parliament and would get a vote of no confidence.

In order to prevent parliament meeting and not approving him, he sent out his clan militia to stop parliamentarians from voting on him if he should be approved or not. The clan militia surrounded the parliament building and soon afterwards in a clash that took less then 2 minutes three of his clan militia were dead!

Later on the government agreed to pay compensation of 600 camels and to faciliate medical care to one of the wounded man of Farooles clan militia. The reason being that the militias were not actually in the parliament builiding anymore but outside and they'd actually calmed down, that's when the presidential guards fired on them and therefore the government agreed to pay out compensation for the mistake and unlawful killing, the issue has been resolved now and everything is back to normal.

Nearly because one thing is actually missing, that is why Uchi is so upset, his close relative has been sacked and replaced by a new man with British citizenship from London called Cabdi Salaad Cali!

That's what Uchi and his close relative, I believe it's his dad cannot digest!

Disregard them, their are numerous ones like them here in the UK and I guess is the same with Australia. We have here numerous people stripped of their cabinet posts and banned from the political party whether Labour or Tories, who come out daily to attack their former leaders. I guess Mr. Howard has one or two folks, that hold a grudge against him for sacking them, in their eyes he cannot do anything right, everything he does is a nuisance. It's not anymore about politics/principles but rather about a personal vandetta!

I don't see any thing good coming out of this. What % is the state of puntland getting? 5%,10%, etc. It's sad that every guy who puts a jacket and a hat can easily sign away the countries natural resources while it's people are in a dead locked conflict. :(

As-Safiir As-Sakhar, thank you for your words, certainly clear up a few things.

Uchi, yes i am a range shareholder. Range does have Cade Muse's nephew as a director, I don't think he will discourage drilling, but rather encourage it. A new director has also joined Range, Sir Sam Jonah, who is Muse's advisor and a noted business man in the oil industry.

Once range begins it's program, employment will be produced, infrastructure will be developed and revenue will be generated which will go into the TFG and puntland coffers, how can this be a bad thing for somalia, a country lacking infrastructure, employment and money.

Dr Faroole, yes, I am well aware of him, and it makes sense that Uchi is a relative of the ousted minister. Obviously he carries a lot of bad blood.

Poor Delusional 'As-Safiir As-Sakhar', did faroole really expose that much about your uncle.

After all, we really shouldn't put our trust on a gang of shareholders here in SOL, assuming and I believe I'm close are both Somali's and Australian.

Dubiously enough they seem to leap out of no-where in protest when one mentions: Stolen money, Cade Muse, Range Resources or anything thats going wrong in Puntland.

Iam begining to wonder how many of you guys are out there? It seems the number of heartless people is in the increase in the world.

Anyway, if you are interested in what got me involved in the anti Range Resources campaign, you should find the following a little unsettling.

Perth orthopaedic surgeon Dr Graham Forward said the West Australian group Kids In Need and is chief executive Terry Donnelly had not organised a visit by him and a medical team to help Somalian tsunami victims in February.

The visit and a subsequent medical mission to Bossasso in the Somali state of Puntland "had zero to do with Donnelly or Kids In Need''.

Kids In Need and Mr Donnelly were the go-between in a deal that saw a Maldives-registered company called Consort Private Ltd negotiate the mineral and oil rights in eastern Somalia with the regional government of the state of Puntland.

A little more than a month after the contract was signed, Consort onsold 50.1 per cent of the rights to the relatively small Melbourne-based mining company Range Resources Pty Ltd.

On October 17 the federal prime minister of Somalia had written to the Australian Stock Exchange warning that the state government in Puntland did not have the legal right to negotiate such a deal on natural resources.

Range Resources, which has its head office in Melbourne but is registered in Perth, maintains the Puntland deal is valid and plans to raise $3.45 million through a rights issue to fund it.

Under the terms of the deal, Range will pay Consort Private $US2.5 million ($A3.3 million) and make a further 17 monthly payments of $US200,000. Consort will also be given 85 million Range shares and 85 million Range options.

Documents prepared on behalf of Kids In Need for the Puntland government show that Mr Donnelly arranged for a "specialist team'' of Australian resources advisers to visit Somalia in April.

Included on the team was Anthony Black, a director of Consort Private, and Perth mining engineer Michael Povey, who was later appointed as Range Resource's executive chairman.

The document proposing the visit by the team was prepared for Kids In Need by a company called Latourd'or Pty Ltd. Corporate affairs records show that Latourd'or, which was deregistered in July, was owned by Mr Black.

In the document, entitled "Somalia A New Direction", Kids In Need said it worked in close association with the Perth-based Catholic aid agency Father Brian's Crisis Care Centre, run by Father Brian Morrison. It said that Kids In Need "has established a series of medical missions to Somalia'' that included a surgical team.

Kids In Need also claimed to have supplied wheelchairs, fishing boats and fishing equipment to Somalian tsunami victims.

Dr Forward said Kids In Need had no role in raising money used by his surgical team to visit Somalia in February. He said that Mr Donnelly had travelled with the team as a representative of Father Brian Morrison's aid agency. "It wasn't until we got there

that we knew anything about an organisation called Kids in Need," he said.

He said he was not happy with Mr Donnelly's activities in Somalia and upon his return to Australia in March sent an email to contacts involved in the visit making it clear he had no association with Mr Donnelly or Kids in Need.

Corporate affairs records show that Mr Black was a former director of Father Morrison's aid agency in Perth. Father Morrison had said that he had been a friend of Mr Black's for 30 years. Mr Black had introduced him to Mr Donnelly, he said.

Father Morrison said he was not aware of the details of the mining deal signed between Mr Black's Consort Private and the Puntland government. He said his agency had provided the wheelchairs distributed by Kids In Need in Somalia as well as the money to buy fishing boats and equipment lost in the tsunami.

Father Morrison said he was now beginning to see how his agency might have been used to help Kids in Need and Mr Donnelly to "gain a foot in the door" in Somalia prior to the mining deal being negotiated. "In a sense I would wonder if I wasn't used," he said.

Uchi, whats that got to do with the current situation. Range resources is a lot more than Mr Povey. Would you also call Sir Sam Jonah corrupt because he is the chairman of Range

http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2004/global.influentials/stories/jonah/

For your information, Sir Jonah has also been an adviser to the puntland government.

Would you also call Mr Bogor corrupt because he is on the range board.

Would you call garoweonline corrupt for spreading mis-information, probably not because you sympathise with garowonline.

Would you call a company corrupt and greedy if they improve the economy of the local country.

Uchi, you don't have to blame us, that your blood-relative has been sacked by the government of Puntland, don't blame us, but blame his s-tupidy and what he did, that caused him to lose his job!

I'm not involved in Range Resources but the reason, why I support the exploration/explotation of you natural resources is because, I want to see the infrastructre developed, the economy diversified, jobs created, hospitals built, schools built, universites built, feeding centres for the hungry built, assisstance for the drought affected Somalis, the sanitation improved, wells built in the countryside, airports built, railways built, roads built, ports built and cities redeveloped and regenerated!

I want also to see the environment improved, parks built, children recreational centres built, trees planted and tourist resources built (for Somalis only ofcourse)!

I want to see ports in Eyl, Hafuun, Beyla, Celaayo, Calula, Baargaal, Bareda, Garacad, Las Qoray and Qandala!

Why do, I've to travel two days to my home city of Eyl from Garoowe, eventhough both cities are few kms away from each other?

Why do I've to sweat, sit in a bumping car for hours and allow punctures to happen every few minutes?

Eyl is a paradise and between two rocks, which makes it very difficult to access. Eyl also has lobbsters and they could be easily transported to Bosaso in a few hours instead of days!

On the other hand, Uchi you don't have to link me with Reer Boqor because, I hope you know, that they don't settle in Eyl or the larger Nugal for that matter!

So, you also know, that I'm from Garowe aswell (my clan resides there), so please stop the nonsense and you linking me with reer Boqor, although I don't have immediate family from Cade's subclan nor kinfolk!

So stop your trash! I'm a proud riyoole, that wants the development of our countries resources and infrastructure, nothing less and nothing more!

So, don't play the cheap clan card on me, You know, who I'm because I told you so numerous times!

Dude, thats not the point, you really don't understand it at all.

Anyway I suggest you cease this nonsense about someone getting sacked its irrelevent. I guess you want Somalia to turn into another African Nation like Nigeria.

Somalia: without a Federal system, to control and to create safeguards etc.

Uchi, if it's not about that, then what is it about?

Tell me, don't you think Puntland State of Somalia can safeguard itself? Don't you thing, that Puntland is a legitimiate force to be reckon with, and one that can make deals with any party, who they wish and desire?

Don't you think, that Puntland is a legitimiate federal state within Somalia?

Don't act like you're s-tupid, Puntland is not Mogadishu, Kismayo or Baidoa because don't you know, that Puntland State of Somalia has a federal charter constitution and institutions whereby it governs itselfs?

Why are you in denial about all this things? Don't you know that Puntland State of Somalia has a parliament? A democratic elected leader and house of representatives?

Don't you know, that Puntlands constitution is there as a guide? Don't you know, that this constitution safeguards, the rights and responsibilities of Puntland and its citizens? Don't you know, that it safeguards the territorial integrity of the state?

Why are you acting like someone, who doesn't know? Sure for the son of a former PL minster and on top of a that a member of the creating fathers of Puntland, why are you still in denial?

We're talking about the PL here bro and not any other somali political entity that has been put together in a hurry a couple month ago!

Puntland is ready, and you know it and they will not stop for anyone! It's the other regions, that have to catch up but we got the federal charter, our own constitution and institutions, legal system, President and Parliament!

Let me reemphasise to you what Puntland stands for and what it means to the whole of Somalia!

Puntland State of Somalia, the pioneers of a new political system, the system of federalism, which is a system, that is not only fair to all Somali people but the only realistic system, that will keep them together as one nation and political entity, should have been applauded for their never-ending courage, bravery and determintaion to see, Somalia restored back in its right place as a dominant, viabrant, young, responsible and credible nation amongst the world community.

At a time, when everything seemed so hopeless and difficult, Puntland set out in its constitution to work and spent all their relative wealth and peace in seeking reconcilliation with its neighbours and other parts of what was known as the Republic of Somalia, on how to bring together the warrying parties under one umbrealla and under a one all-inclusive, united, recongised and representative federal government.

They could have chosen to 'desert' their fellow brothers, who were engulfed in a political stalemate, which its objective one still cannot tell but they decided instead to be an integral part of Somalia until a federal government was found, i.e. they decided to be autonomous until their brethren in the south mainly Mogadishu were ready to 'progress', move on and leave behind the trivial and embarrassing hostilities and arguments they were engulfed in!

With the help of the people of Puntland, they set out to further pacify their already peaceful regions, and to set up a responsible security apparatus made up of dervishes, police and 'asluubta', they managed to bring peace and relative calm to their regions, under one control and political leadership. From there, they went on to help other Somali regions to do the same and establish their own regional administrations, this was in respect of the spirit of 'federalism', which the fathers of Puntland pioneered and saw as the only realistic chance of bringing all Somali regions back once more under one untied political leadership, entity and force.

Praise be to Allaah, the glorified, as we've now a federal government and a president-elect and it shows, that the strives and struggle of Puntland for finding a federal and all-inclusive government was not in vain. The speaker of the Parliament of Somalia Shariif Hassan Sheikh Aden once said "Puntland is the birth-mother of the federal republic of Somalia", this was an acknowledgment to Puntland and its people, that they were at the forefront of creating the TFG and still are its prime supporters, facilitators and funder of the Federal Government of Somalia!

Don't you know that the Puntland State of Somalia, are the pioneers of the 'federalism' you talked about.

No one wanted federalism! Abdiqassim said No, Barre Hiiraale said No, Mogadishu warlords said No and all other factions said No!

Only after Puntland conceded to Mogadishu being the capital, they renegotiated the federal system charter of Somalia and it was quite clear that with out federalism, Puntland would not go into further discussions with the rest of the somalis because it's against our interests and constitution! The rest wanted a centerised government, whilst Puntland wanted a decentralized and diffuste government!

We're the pioneers of federalism and it was our idea Uchi, so don't act like someone, who is ignorant about this whole issue.

I say this Puntland is ready and they will go ahead inshallah.

However let me ask you one thing: Do you trust the current Puntland leadership? Do you think, they have a legitimiate mandate? Yes or No?

If you don't trust the current leadership, did you used to trust it before your blood-relation was kicked out of the government? If so, what/why the sudden change?

Answer me Uchi, answer me with a frank anwer. If you cannot give answers to this questions, don't bother yourself replying back to me!

Once again, regionalism and short-sightedness prevail upon intellectual debate centered on the whole nation's welfare as well as long-term thinking.

Clearly, Range Resources is not an usual company and if they are so eager and impatient to invest in Puntland even before it's basic stabilization

let alone that of Somalia or the region,

this merely reinforce the assumption that these crooks are seeking a short-term and extremely advantageous agreement with a weak and challenged regional administration (lured by few US$ millions, it goes without saying).

How could a serious mining company (mining is always a long-term or very long-term activity)interfere with the border issue between Somaliland and Puntland by sending a team on the disputed areas not mentioning the resulting deadly clashes between Puntland's forces and Warsangeli tribemens?

By the same token, it seems obvious that the corrupt and autocratic administration in Garowe is jeopardizing not only local peace by breaking tribal modus-vivendi but also Somalia's unity by giving the go-ahead to Range Resource in such a climate.

How could there be any unity or sustainable peace if national resources are not exploited under federal agreement with benefits redistributed to the whole nation through careful planning?

What could prevent Garowe inept and

rethoric-driven oligarchy to spend royalties on tribal militias, aimed to further increase mining areas, instead of national defence imperative?

What garanty does Puntland people have that their region won't be another Liberia, Nigeria or other failed African short-term vision illustration?

Actually, that is the main concern. Now Cade's nephew, now Range Resources armed gang and tommorrow, God knows what Cade will do with the proceeds he gets from minning.

PS: As Uchi rightly named, 'Poor delussional As-Saffir As-Sakhar' is just his name suggests: dellusional. Duke no longer possess the faculty to understand, that faculty has been filled and sealed by its brainwashers. So its no hoper addressing him.

Erm, Sakhar, FYI, I am no marxist nor am I a socialist. I guess as usual to your kind, you misread my messages. Sorry.
