Galmudug GOVT Website Exposed For Lies

Recommended Posts

Cowke

Ok I been off to do a bit of researching and found that the Galmudug Govt website is continuing to spread mis-information at an OFFICIAL level. This sort of propaganda needs to be stopped and is definitely unhealthy. Here is a small piece from the Galmudug Govt website.

In terms of landmass, Mudug was the largest region in the country before M.S. Barre’s military regime curved out Galgadud from it. Later on, the people in the northern part
(a very small portion)
decided to secede and join their kin brothers in the North East (formally ******tenia) and together formed their own administration, which they named: Puntland State.

The people of the northern portion did so without consulting or even informing the cousins in the south. Consequently, the bulk of the region (de-facto and de-jure the real Mudug region)
was left out without any sort of administration and the international community conveniently dubbed it as South Mudug to distinguish it from the northern portion. It is precisely this so-called South Mudug that finally became Galmudug State when its people, after so many years and just as late as August 2006, have decided to establish their own administration and named it Galmudug State.

Interestingly enough, despite all the mutilations mentioned above, the Galmudug region (South Mudug) still remains to be one of the largest regions in the Nation. However, most unfortunately it remained without any administration until as late as August 2006 when the people (4 clans) in a General Conference held in Galkayo (July-August 2006) finally decided, just like their cousins to the North, to establish their own administration, which they appropriately named: Galmudug State.

I bolded out the necessary parts which I personally think are grossly propaganda and stirring up mis-information. Firstly they call north-mudug a small region, while the rest of mudug is the largest region. In terms of land-size they are right, in terms of population they are wrong.

Mudug is 5 districts.

1. Galkaio (Capital)

2. Goldogob (Second largest town)

3. Jerriban

4. Hobyo

5. Harardheere

That is the official mudug endorsed by the previous somalia government and the international community. 3 out 5 of those districts are Puntland. That is 80% stakehold. Whilst the remaining 20% are not Namely Hobyo and Harardheere.

In terms of population non puntland residents are only 10-15% at most whilst the remaining majority is Puntland. Because hobyo and harardheere which can be observed from google-earth has like 500 homes at tops.lol.

So the Galmudug Govt needs to think before making such baseless claims.

Second point I want to refute is they mis-informly say that their north-mudug residents seceded from the rest of mudug without informing their south mudug counter-part.

Firstly Puntland never seceded. It created regional state for people who were willing to join it.

The south mudug people were kept in the loop and even sent an invitation to join their consultation period which is evident from interpeace endorsed report "The search for peace bottom-up approach" published by PDRC of Puntland.

Here is quote from their report.

There were no expectations that the (USC) communities of south Mudug would participate, as Abdulahi Yusuf later noted in his inaugural speech to the Puntland parliament48 :

after the Mudug Peace Agreement of 1993,
the community of South Mudug was invited at

various times to join the process of regional institution building in Mudug region but they refused to do so…and failed to respond to our brotherly and good neighbourly invitations. In the interests of greater regional development, North Mudug decided to be part of the State of Puntland.

Source: http://www.interpeace.org/images/pdf/the_search_for_peace_pdrc.pdf

As all can see the south mudug constiuents who are indeed the minority of mudug and not the other way around as they suggest on their govt website was invited to attend the consultative period of the creation of Puntland however refused the good will gestured to them by the peace-loving people of Puntland.

This report was generated by PDRC a well respected institution in Puntland and on top of that endorsed by Interpeace. So any issues of validity will also need to question interpeace standing within the world community, which I find any thinking person will not dare.

Miskin do the percentage. Mudug comprises 5 towns. 3 are puntland. 2 are not.

Formula. (3/5) X 100 = 80%.

Not to mention the fact, Just step onto google earth and have a look at the density of hobyo and harardheere and you will see it's not very dense at all.

Zack. But didn't you hear what i said. Proper calculation is 60% lakin we can't say 40% is non-puntland because bro go to google earth and see the size of harar-dheere and hobyo wa tuuloyin with no more then 200 homes a piece.

That is why I said 80%

loool...it is not new saaxiib marka halla yaabin. Many Somalis have a number problem. Meeshii 500 laga rabo hal (0) leey gadaal kaga daraan si ay u buunbuuninaayn.

Ilaahoow xishoodka hannaga qaadin. Goormaa shakhsiyaad SOL jooga ay ka dawoobi doonaan inay dhul Ilaah leeyahay oo Soomaali ay wada deggaan annagaa iska leh inay meelaha la boodboodaan dadka kalena waa marti.

You know what we will see in 10 years time, iyadoo la dhahayo 80 % of Baidao iyo Jowhar population are from Puntland Just because Abdullahi Yusuf iyo maleeshiyadiisa ayaa Itoobiya dejisey for 1 year each...hahaha..

Of course sharci u diidaya inay degaan degaannadaas dadka Soomaaliyeed ee ka soo jeeda gobollada Bari wax ka reebaya ma jiraan oo ma aaminsani in cid gaar ahi leedahay degaannadaas balse sedbursiga ma jecli!

Cowke, you are wrong adeer, in Mudug the southern area is around 50% of the whole region. Hobyo is a largest district in terms of land mass.

Thus your argument of 80% of Mudug is in Puntland is invalid.

Aside from the propoganda stories of these folks, and the cries of the likes of ABWAN, its not just to make up stories ya Cowke.

Puntland controls around 48-50% of Mudug, and thats more than enough, its the traditional districts of the community, the remaining is in the traditional areas of the clans of the south Mudug. All is fair.
