Siad_Barre.jpg This is a letter to Siad Barre, from one of his admirers, may he rest in peace and may God bless his patriotic soul. I was born in March 1991, two months after your government was overthrown, Somalia was destroyed and various rebel groups based in the primitive clan system was struggling for power. The most of my family was fleeing for their lives from Mogadishu.

October 21, 1969 there was a heroic revolution which you liberated the Somali people from a regime of, tribalist, corrupt, incompetent, traitor, politicians ho hadn’t done anything for the Somali nation.

You gave the Somali language a written script, and every time I write or read on Somali your legacy is alive.

Under your rule Somalia got free modern education, so the Somali people could get knowledge and participate in building of the country and getting the proud Somali people out of ignorance, the proportion of people who could read and write increased from 12% to 70%!

In 1975 you gave the Somali women’s the recognition and equality they deserved, it was an impotent step in the long history of progress under you rule.

In 1977,you created a great and proud Somali army who was able to liberate the occupied West Somalia, if the Russian and the Cubans had not supported the enemies of the Somali people the dream of Somaliweyn had became reality.

You build a great health care system, you build roads, and you made Mogadishu to one of the most beautiful city in the World.

Since you left us, the animals of USC, SNM, SSDF, SPM, destroyed the Somali republic, we all became refugees, our fish has been stolen and our waters has been dump place for humanity, the ********s of USC murded and raped the Somali people, the traitors of SSDF has now created Puntland an habashi slave state, the terrorists of SNM has done the same just with a fantasyland. We the Somali People miss you, we were something with you and animals with out you, 20 years since you left Somalia and we don’t have the brain to create any kind of law or order, the health care and education systems is destroyed, our women’s lives in the middle age, the enemies of the Somali people is controlling Somalia.

Let the dead RIP. Unfortunately he took a young democratic country and destroyed it completely and those who came after him followed his bad example. The opportunity lost is unreplaceable.

Gallad: Siad came on power was democratic elected government with legitimate constitution and when he left was distraction every thing with huge debt.

Somali state debt reaches Siad barre era:

On top of all that, rampant borrowing by Somalia’s former military regime has left a pending debt crisis, especially since the country has not taken advantage of the many opportunities for debt relief that have presented themselves over the past 20 years.

As of 2007, the national debt stood at $3.3 billion, 81 per cent of which is in arrears.

SXB Barres legacy is your detraction now

Wuxuu na baday wuxuu Nooga tagaa nagaga daran

Your comment comes across as if Afweyne left the country intact and in peace. When in fact, he left the country divided and destroyed and in chaos. At least if he had done what Mingistu did and left the country without resorting to clan to defend him and igniting a clanish battles, he would have a little respect. Laakin ninka isagoo bakhtiya waliba qabiil ku soo dagaaal galay ee garanwaayay si sharafleh isaga tag meesha, ninkaa karaamo iyo ka dheer maamuus.

Somalis are where they are because of him. He was the one that introduced favourship when it comes to clans, arming neighboring clans pitting one against the other and planting the ongoing mistrust and divisions.

Chimera

He should have retired in 86' after his horribe car crash, and make Egal or some other well-seasoned visionary Somali politician, President instead. The amount of Somali scientists, intellectuals, writers and poets (from a multitude of regions and clans) this guy burried in his dungeons is enough to spark a renaissance.

May the dead rest in peace; Jaale Barre was certainlly confident, ambitious and led politics of ideals. Despite numerous miscalculations and mistakes, he was still a symbol of a nation for 21 years.
