By the time Muse joined SNM in 1985, SNM's military foundation and doctrine were already cemented by the likes of Mohamed Lihle and Mohamed Dalmar aka Mohamed Ali (by the way very interesting guy), two men who served honorably in Somaligalbeed war.

Imagine dealing with every sub-clan separately in any given region. I rather see a united Beesha Dhexe that negotiates with the rest of the Somalis on a workable solution, whatever the solution. Somali clan politics is simply difficult and confusing as is.

You are overselling Muse. The fact is every monumental decision and fight was done by the likes Lixle, Dalmar, and Abdiqaadir Kosar who literally saved the SNM when he assumed the chairmanship. Biixi was a bully who picked on GX when they lost many important men, most of the highly-regarded soldiers in SNA.

Xaaji’s SNM politicians will be remembered for the greed and looting in the pages of history, for that is what the end goal of the armed struggle seemed to entail.

Contrary to other armed struggles this one has been devoid of any  agenda of wanting to progress the people, instead pushing people and time back in to regression of the inter-clan animosity of 30 years ago.
