K'naan T I A

(Spoken)

I hope you got your passports, and vaccine shots.

[Verse 1]

I take rappers on a field trip any day

They never been opposite real clip anyway

I know where all the looters and the shooters stay

Welcome to the city we call Doomsday.

When niggaz is just fried chicken like Tuesday

Oh you from the hood huh, who say?

My Nigerian niggaz would call you *****

My Somali niggaz are quick to grab the uzi

Around here we only bumping Fela Kuti

Tupac, or Bob Marley, Lucky Dube.

So we don't really give a **** about your groupies

This Is Africa, Hooray.

T.I.A.

(Hooray)

T.I.A.

(Hooray)

T.I.A.

(Hooray)

It means, This Is Africa

(Hooray)

[Hook]

You don't know how hard it is here

The streets is tricky in these parts here

You don't know how hard this is here

The streets need this shit here

You don't know how hard it is here

The streets is tricky in these parts here

You don't know how hard this is here

The streets need this shit here

[Verse 2]

I walk rappers through the Killa woods any day

They never been opposite real goons anyway

I know all the tricky sticky icky alley ways

Welcome to the continent of Holidays (Africa)

Where Holidays quickly turn to hell days

Stars fall quicker than box of shell case

No Bill Gates, No PCs

Why you cats debating, acting and faking these days

I deliver what they need like milk crates

I learned from the deadly streets no regrets

And I wasn't ever looking for street cred

But these streets bred me to be street safe

It's no secret we know how to squeeze lead

But the Pre-set is not to have to squeeze it

Used to be at peace but now we using T-Shirts

And it reads RIP cause the peace dead

When I walk through the slums like (Nomane?)

Little children say K'naan (Bumaye ?)

The rap game just got itself a new day

This is Africa, Hooray.

K'nan is a total joke and disgrace, pathetic can't even make it big on the rap scenes and does small time concerts here and there. I don't see columbia records calling him anytime soon. Total disgrace

I wrote these lyrics down since I couldnt find them online, so feel free to correct it....

Dayless nights

couldn't figure out the first line :(

I look for peace but no'in is to rain

cuz in the desert it will only rain pain...

now look at this

I see some ships that have no business here

I try to run the sea am not that fast

I trip and fall and barely escape the blast blast

cuz Dayless nights

I see some pirates in the ocean late at night

they move around and just can't wait to fight

watch out for the pirates in the ocean late at night

Dayless nights

I see some pirates in the ocean late at night

there is never peace somethings will never change

watch out for the pirates in the ocean late at night

Meditate could I have lived if I have never strayed

wait

this is somalia people am afraid

I have no lemons to make lemonade

and so excused

I know I have only known the tragic broken rules

Got no'in to eat and really no'in to lose

it is do or die and am prepared to blow fuse

cuz Dayless nights

I joined pirates in the ocean late at night the thing I said will never make it right

watch out for the pirates in the ocean late at night

Dayless nights

am in the darkness I cant seem to find the light

there is never peace somethings will never change

watch out for the pirates in the ocean late at night

Got my wish I caught a ship to eat instead of fish sticks

when i get paid I will live the life I missed

we caught the Alabama Maersk Ship

but what a risk

The tide switched and captain Philip has been stationed braving this

they came to save him and am glad hes free

and now the Navy Seals shot me shot me

now am free from the dayless nights

I joined pirates in the ocean late at night nothing I said will never make it right

watch out for the pirates in the ocean late at night

Dayless nights

am in the darkness I cant seem to find the light

there is never peace somethings will never change

watch out for the pirates in the ocean late at night

Marx...Listen i am not being clan orientated about this, but stating the obvious. This small time hip hop wanna be artist shouldn't being giving up his day-job. Wa totally pathetic, his had many years to take his game to the next level but fails all ways..just like his cousin who was on american idol crying because she was total failure in becoming pop-star.

Osman-NZ,

If you didn’t get the memo that the hate is over, then something is wrong with you Son.It seems like nothing matters to you including all his talented lyrics. All you care about is probably Props proving that nothing really matters in rap besides T-Pain hooks and club-friendly beats that are sexist and misogynist (I side-stepped all your other reasons for hate including clannish bigotry!)

And also maybe you didn't know that record companies are shaddy so said Q-tip when he rapped ( “Industry rule number 4080, record company people are shady)
