  1. ^I think given that no poll has been taken by an independant group in the diaspora - the most you can say is - that those views are shared by the majority of those in your circle.
  2. A little too harsh no MMA? Will you outlaw personal insults? I believe Senor Castro referred to General Duke as 'General Puke'. Can we get that on the list too?
  3. ^The question you must answer is - why is allowing the TFG a chance to govern equal to Ethiopia governing? Defend your point - that is all I'm saying. Not terribly unfair, nooh?
  4. ^Adeer - I never made that point. In fact - it is your point. As such any disappointment you have with me stems from your pigeon holing of me and my position(and then expressing it). The George Bush mentality is alive and well on SOL *Yaa Xiin - stop the pigeon holing*
  5. Adeer - the tragedy has been in the making for 16 years. There is nothing particularly tragic about the current round of squabbling. As to the Ethiopian occupation - I dislike it intensely but see no way that TFG authority could've been established after your friends so foolishly spurned talks. I don't think the Ethiopians will be here for long - out by March I think. The hysteria surrounding Ethiopian occupation is just that imo. There is a definite potential silver lining in all this - if done correctly. As to you continuing the struggle - by all means continue to do so. Do it in a peaceful way though adeer. Why not urge your friends to form a party and present themselves for elections at the federal, regional and municipal levels? I think a variety of voices are needed on the political scene in Somalia if we are to really move forward. As to senor Ngonge - I think he has equal parts censure for all. He is a very hard man to please.
  6. ^Ooh Adeer - why would I defend that point? It is, after all, your point not mine. I turn it to you to defend your point. *Rubs hands together in eager anticipation*
  7. ^The name of the game is speculation and trash-talking. Wonder how far the finish line is!

Perhaps - your speed departure would allow me to cure my 'sickness' faster. Quick - the bank acct number??
  9. Adeer - Do tell us your bank acct number so that the many members of SOL can speed you on your way. Mind - leave your family at home. I think you could take these cowards on single-handedly. Alle ubahane - the would be Saladin of Somalia. Wa salaam.

You did, Adeer, you did. KUDOS to Xiin - for his exemplary lack of hysteria, name-calling and belly-aching. * ThePoint claps heartily for Xiin *
  11. ^Warya, Northerner - you can really dance - must be all that marathon training. To me a ceasefire - is the cessation of fire - or dab-jojis(sp - I suck at Somali spelling). Period, full stop. Additionally, when agreeing to the ceasefire - they knew who the other side was(ie. TFG & Ethios). Instead of opting for peace - they opted for war. ^Xiin - my point is the criticism - and its validity which I believe I've proven. C'est tout. As to defending anything - at this point I'm only prepared to defend the notion that TFG should be given a chance to govern.
  12. ^ahh he's a wimp. LG subscribes to the 'if he doesn't beat me - he doesn't love me school'

    Why?

^Is there anything as too dark-skinned to be Somali?
  14. ^Good stuff - hope you do better next time. I didn't know you could start with anything other than math portion since the computerized test is organized that way. What are your plans - MBA?
  15. Originally posted by Northerner: quote:Originally posted by ThePoint: ^There was an agreement to have a cease fire and get back to talks as negotiated by the EU envoy. It was widely reported. Come on now TP, that was just a PR exercise by the EU to save face. War was looming by then. Agreements to a ceasefire were simply to not take blame for the conflict. Are there conditions to deal with gaalo on Muslim lands (even if they are invited by the 'govnt')? I have a the feeling this will be long discussion so will return when time permits IA. Adeer, PR exercise or not(and you have yet to prove this) - it's clear that you are farting around on this. The offer was made, both sides accepted and that should've been the end of the matter. Unfortunately, one side acted foolishly and now is left with next to nothing. Not only was it the Islamically correct thing to opt for peace when it is offered to you - but it is unislamic to agree to a ceasefire and then break it. But many on this board are defending this action. Strange.

Can you name some of the improvements you speak of other than subjugating the public for another term, inciting a civil war and leading peaceful Boosaas to war twice and building Aqalka dowlada [read: presidential palace] in Boosaaso rather than the capital Garoowe. He helped to establish a functioning administration in North-east Somalia and led it for a number of years. There's one for ya. I dislike it when people let their biases distort the facts. I also dislike those can't get themselves to comment positively in any manner due to their bias. After all, the worst of people have some positive points. PS - Can you please tell me why you think building a palace in Bosaaso as opposed to Garowe is such a crime? I am most curious to know.
  17. Eid Mubarak to all and Happy New Year. May Allah ease the suffering of all Muslims especially those in our troubled country.
  18. ^Hmm - so CG - what is your take on the desirability of a corrupt, dictatorial govt a la Kenya or the small scale anarchy of southern Somalia? Quel est ton choix?

    TFG 2.0?

In fact - it only distorts and debilitates it.
  20. ^LOL - Kudos to Khalaf. Huff and Buff is the Somali way. I don't think anyone will disturb Somaliland for some time. Though - a true national govt in Somalia may make some things more difficult for the current authority.
  21. ^Well - you know what they say about Amxaaro/Tigree loving, unpatriotic, treasonous, anti-Muslim, gaalo-raac, munafaq dhabadilifs - don't ya?
