I wonder what they will come up with next... Very admirable the way she didn't let them kuffars crack her faith in allah, masha allah!

lol @ darman, i am sure that u've got some free space! The guys in this place r gettin arrogant, first lakkad and now darman? African, u need to import us some saalaxs from xamar. These faaraxs simply won't do. Now they've got paspotrt they are all in the ismacneeys bussines.

African, after taking your time you come up with only one offer? And it is a one eyed man?! Bisinka...Actually i wouldn't mind except the competition is too bloody tight for my liking And besides, having compared urself to dear old cilla...I want to have three men to chose from!
-
Khayr, You are intitled to your opinion as good as the next farax. But don't u think that the only way to put our islamic people on top and to compete with the kuffars is trough education? Are we really in a position to turn away from any form of education while the people that hate us are working day and night to find ways to hurt our muslim brothers and sisters, if not us? Can we really be picky about who goes to work and who doesn't? What happened to group effort.... I think that there is nothing wrong with your ideals, tho i don't agree with them all. But brother keep in mind that we come from a war torn country and no one is going to build it up for us. Everyone else is more concerned with building up their own country. So we need as many educated people as we can get, b they men or women.

Thats it, i have had enough! I am going to darmaan.com and booking myself a ticket to somalia. I've been on farax diet for far too long, it is time i tried a saalax cuisine

I guess this validates my temper towards guys... I'm pretty damn hard core! Fear me!

Modesty, i am not generelazing anyone, i am just talking about the different choices SOME somali women make. I think you have taken my words out of context. When i use the words modern and traditional, i don't mean reer baadiyo/reer magaal, but rather females that want to do things the way it was done back home and those who by all means have respect for the culture, but also want to be an individual firstly and somebody's wife secondly. Being someones mom is a blessing, but so is being someone who has developed her education up to a stage where she can be the pride of her country. Both types of females are equal and you don't have to mis out on one just because you are classified as the other. Raxmah,i agree with you 100%.....

Ameenah, i am calling the fraud squad  , you have pulled a mail scam on me  , i want my shaash marodi back  !!! I know u got it, and i see no man on my doorstep

Intresting view MiSs_LeXuS, i agree with you that being a religious and having a household compliment one another, but why can't career and deen go well together? After all, if you have imaan and aren't trapped in a capitalistic vicious circle only wanting to earn and spend, why isn't it possible?

salaams to all sisters. Hope u can bare my calaacal for the day, but i wanted to share a thought with u.... Being a somali woman living abroad can be difficult, as we have to adjust more than the men in my opinion. Having lived in europe for so many years i have noticed that there are two types of somali girls. The homely girls who want to enjoy their early years and eventually settle with someone and happily become a housewife. And the ambitiouse sisters who want to become educated and be something other than someones wife. More often than not the ambitiouse sisters face a clash with the culture as we all are eventually expected to get married and produce babies, while the others are more happy because of their acceptance of what our society wanted them to do. I myself have been encouraged to put education ahead of everything and am very ambitious, but i know that eventually i will have to face snide remarks about how fulfilling family actually is and how empty my life is without them...As it is uncles are already remarking on my unmarried status! Now my question to you is, under which category do you fall? Do you think a woman can have a career and still maintain her family? How?

War anagaa wax aragnay, just to use moti's phrase. People, i feel obliged to tell u why moti is stuck in cambodia, because it would explain his love/hate relationship with females. We were on the same qaxooti flight from egypt to france, i still remember the dirac and wig he was wearing...he even tried those clip on earings, bless him. Anywayz, i can tell u the female inspector got the shock of her life time when she handsearched our deluted brother, so shocked in fact she sent him back to cambodia in stead of egypt...Poor farax was whipped with cambodian bamboo by more females and developed a phobia of women and a strong suspicion....instead of further attacking him, quraan haloo aqriyo miskiinka hana loo soo duceeyo. Moti macaanka allah ku caafiyo...AAAMIIN.
