  1. How many mayors, presidents, governers etc. does Mogdishu have? And who are the natives and who are the newcomers?

I mix them up too sometimes when I am high.
  4. What does aano mean? Anyway isn't there a police in Galkacyo; why are people carrying guns in the center of the city?
  5. It would be better to build new hospitals instead of hotels. Since the people who are building these hotels are bussinessmen who are only in it for the profits, why don't think about the long term. I am sure hospitals will make a lot more money in the long term than hotels will. Never-the-less, hor umarka waa loo baahanyahay!
  6. Hussein Aidid looks like an out of shape balding version of Wood Harris.

But i have plan: Let's start with your "heros"... before we ran out off bullets, and then we can proceed to the lesser evil ones. How about this plan? it might work Why do you assume my heros are warlords? And how do you measure their level of evilness? Walaal aqli kale ayaa iga fahante. By the way, shooting a somali warlord is probably more difficult than shooting George Dubya. They are heavily guarded by mindless gunmen who will shoot at anything and everything they find suspicious in the least bit. If every family kept their sons from becoming gunmen for the warlord, then we may be able to defeat these evil men; the biggest enemies of the somali people.

  9. Exchanging discussions with you Sky, as is the case with Duke, always seems to leave one with the notion that either we are on Politics for Dummies or you are on it. That is cold man. Anyway somalis mis-use the word occupying way too much. How can someone occupy a land he was born in, his father and mother were born in and even great grandparents were born in and raised. Original inhabitants kulahaa. People move around a lot and places change hands over time so some people better get used to it. As pastorialists, we moved from one place to another, sometimes going as far as the deep interior of ethiopia and kenya.
  10. Reer gedo are occupied by bare hiiraale. Wow, I had idea man. We should do something to free these reer gedood from this warlord I guess.

  12. I hate americans.
  13. Fiiri dhulkaan aad sheeganeesid hadaa dad ka kicise adiga maxaa kussiiye adiga hadaa sidaa dadka uga kicise iyo si lamid ah lagaaga kiciye? Dad boqolaal sano magaalo soo degnaa ayaa maanta kuleedahay dhulkaan malihidee inagaa leh waayo waa baan degnaan jirne. Waxaas aqligal ma aha saaxib! Beelaha soomaliyeed beel degan dhulkaan ay kasoo faracmeen maba jirto ee waxay wada deganyihiin dhul ay xoog misa si kale(demographics) ku qabsadeen. Besides there is no recorded history of the region so there is no point in arguing over something when all you can provide as evidence is what your parents and relatives have related to you.
  14. I have 9 brothers and sisters but my father married 4 wives. So I have 7 brothers, including me, and two sisters.
  15. Hornafrique, I heard the Warday were in Lower and Upper Jubba and the boran were in Gedo and parts of Bakool and NFD. The Mar-ehan and the Awl-yahan expelled the boran while the other Og-aden subclans and Tal-xe expelled the Wardey from Jubboyinka. I also heard that Gaarsuge and Gaboweeyn(somali bantus that live on the river banks) were present in the luuq and bakool area at the time. They were not expelled from the area and were left to their villages. Another thing I wanted to point out was that Baled Xawo did not even exist at the time. Baled Xawo came to existence a long time later when a Ma-rehan who was working for the english as a soldier was based in Mandhera. Because at the time they did not allow Ma-rehans to settle in kenya because of their rebellious nature, his wife, Xawo Aden, built a house on the other side of the border in where Baled Xawo is today. More and more people settled in the area and the town grew bigger over time. Just to show you how new Baled Xawo is, Xaajiyo Xawo Aden, the lady the city was named after, is still alive and resides in Baled Xawo with her son.
  16. I was listening to the BBC today and some MP/wasiir kuxigeen was being interviewed. He was asked what the solution to situation in ceelwaaq would be and the man said there will be no solution until all the invaders are sent back to Cabduwaaq. So I guess this thing will go on for a long time. I guess "reer cabduwaaq" have no choice but to defend themselves.
  17. Reer gedo waqti dheer ayaa laga dhax shaqeenaye. I am glading the warring factions/subclans are setting their differences aside and coming together to work together for the greater good of the community. Viva reer Gedo.
  18. Dad badan oo kakal imanaya deegaannada ka tirsan gobolka Galgaduud ayaa ku soo qul qulaya degmada Ceel waaq si ay uga faa’iidaystaan hawshaasi indho fiiqida. He keeps on confusing Cabduwaaq with celiwaaq.
  19. Is Duke Cabdillahi Yusuf's spokesperson?
  20. When I came to the states about a decade ago, my family first settled inn VA and we were welcomed very nicely. The somali community in Va then was a really good, tight community. The city I live in now is horrible. It is divided along clan lines and they don't even have community leaders. I liked Columbus the last time I visited there. I noticed somalis there don't value education though. Many of thee kids dropped out of school and the parents don't seem to mind it.
  21. The best part of getting a wife from back home is you will have a gauranteed beautiful wife. The thing is, because you are from the west, you will get to choose your wife from many many beautiful somali girls. Everyone(relatives ofcourse) will be offering you their daughter.
  22. What kind of shows/movies will they show? They should stay away from western tv stations. It will poison the minds of their kids.
  23. Of all the muslim communities in America, I noticed it is only the somalis that worry about ribba when taking out a mortgage to purchase a house. Indians, arabs, indonesians etc. muslims all buy houses in the states without worrying about ribba. One of the shaykhs(a nigerian) at local mosque in my town recently took out a mortgage and bought a brand new 6 bedroom house. He says it is the only way to empower the muslim communities in the west.
  24. How come the title of the thread doesn't match its content? Anyway waxaad u baahantahay dhaqancelis if you actually think adressing your significant other as walaal is gross. Another victim of culture clash...
