  1. Whateva happens ,,, Yemen is a part & parcel of Somalia as well ,,,, wax fahan adna ,,
  2. Speak in a strange foreign accent. when someone asks where you are from, name a country only you can pronounce. Use a different accent every time you talk to someone new. When getting food, pile everything onto your plate in heaping servings - make sure to use your hands! Ask the host, "Who threw this cheesy party, anyway?" Turn cartwheels across the floor. If you can turn a back flip, all the better! Bring a novel and curl up in a corner with it. Cough all over guests, then exclaim, "Doctor says a few more years and I'll be cured..." Hang your head and whisper one-word answers to questions. Play a lullaby on a kazoo during a speech (singing a lullaby works okay, too) If there is music, mix up your dancing: break dance to classical, symphony conductor hand waves to techno music. If you find your former dancing partner dancing with someone else, burst into tears, wailing "I thought you loved me!", and run from the room. Tell a middle-aged wife, "Your husband seems very happy with that girl in the closet..." Tell a middle aged man, "Your wife seems very happy with that boy in the closet..." Whisper to the guest on your right, "What kind of lame moron actually goes to these parties, anyway?" Bring Lego warships and fighter jets. Wage a war in the middle of the room. Urge other guests to get involved. If you are a historical expert, reenact the revolutionary war, the civil war, world war two, etc. Bring a soccer ball, basketball, football, or baseball. Start a game... in the kitchen. Karate chop everywhere and everything. Yell really, really loud. A few sudden kicks would be worthwhile as well. Wear wool or feathers and sneeze all night. "The doctor says I'm not allergic to anything except sheep and birds..." If someone says the word no to you, say, "How dare you turn down the prince / princess of Ugranialo!" Burst into the room an hour late, sopping wet and screaming, "I've done it! I've found Atlantis!" Pick out the oldest women at the party, run up to her, and exclaim, "Grandmother! it's me, Anastasia!" If it is a summer party in the evening, break into a duet with another guest: "Summer nights". Persuade the host to sing "You're the one that I want" with you. Come in saying, the guy outside in the lab coat is looking for (insert name of host).

  4. That was one healthy debate with Che i must say ..... we still have our differences though.
  5. Che, You're still talking about the early stages of SSDF but once SNM emerged they were not under question anymore. I know their properties are confiscated and a lot of villages are swept by the SNA but later on the government was trying to cover the damage. They were politically defeated and have no ground support starting from the infamous war in Balanballe and Galdogob where the Ethiopian flag was raised. That is when Abdillahi Yusuf was arrested and the rest of the officers fled to the Somalia side to join the government. From that point, the government had a full backing of almost all Somalis but the increasing military operations and the number of the failures in different fronts turned the tide to the other side.
  6. The SNM war was not just military sxb .... it was political, economical and of course military. If not SNM and the SSDF seized to operate early 80s then the Somalia military would have to increase its capacity and recover from its loss. But with SNM they have never got the chance to do so and they had to transfer all the military resources to the north (now Somaliland).
  7. Originally posted by Che -Guevara: ^But they are relevant unless your argument is Northern Officers is what made the Somali war.And add the political dimension to the equation as the State lost the confidence of an entire communities. The country began to unravel at every level after 77. SNM represented one dimension of the overall problem that was facing the Somali state. SNM was the only entity who continued and was able to fight between 1982 and 1989 .... The military officers continued to defect to the SNM side during that period. SSDF did not resist that much as the Somali government managed to defeat them both politically and militarily.
  8. It was actually the USC that caused the collapse of the government. The SNM only targeted its clan regions. Hales, markaasaad caqliyaysatay dee adigu and thought USC inay dalka oo dhan qabsatay ,,, The government put all its military and resources in Somaliland during the 80s and the USC capturing the capital was the last resort they've done. SNM has no intention of crossing its borders at any cost. The government was badly weakened and defeated in the north (Now Somaliland) and by the end of the 80 there was no much left to defend the remaining regions in the South including the capital Muqdisho.
  9. It has operational capabilities in the early 80s although it was gradually increasing. The departure of the Somaliland officers weakened a lot and that was also increasing from the early 80s to the late 80s .... after full evacuation was then when the government collapsed. The other officers (northeastern) are not relevant here ... by the end of 1984 all of them returned back to the Somali government and the few that remained were put behind the bars in Ethiopia.
  10. I'm talking about the beginning of the 80s when the SNM started its operations ..... that is when the SNA was weakened and by the late 80s almost all of them were gone.
  11. Even after 1977 it still maintained the status quo .... and military remained strong.
  12. A Poll conducted by Gallup in 148 countries including Ethiopia, reveals an interesting insight to what could happen if migration of all adults worldwide who desire to migrate permanently to other countries actually moved where they wanted today. Not surprisingly, Ethiopia would be a net loser and could see its population almost cut by half, if everyone who wants to run away from Ethiopia could. According to the survey, Ethiopia has one of the highest negative Potential Net Migration Index (PNMI) of 46%. Comoros, Somaliland, Liberia, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Haiti, and Sierra Leone are all at the bottom of the list. Gallup's Potential Net Migration Index finds Singapore, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Switzerland, Australia, and Kuwait atop the list of countries that could see the highest net adult population growth from international migration. America is still the number one desired destination for would be migrants. Results are based on telephone and face-to-face interviews with 347,717 adults, aged 15 and older, in 148 countries from 2007 to early 2010. The 148 countries surveyed represent about 95% of the world's adult population.
