Somaliland Rejects to Participate in the Washington Hearing
Che -Guevara replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in Politics
I don't think snubbing Uncle Sam was brighest thing to do. -
LONDON (Reuters) - Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi was quoted on Tuesday as saying he was preparing to step down and that discussions on the issue had already started within his ruling party. "My personal position is that I have had enough," Meles, who came to power in 1991 when his then guerrilla group ousted former Marxist ruler Mengistu Haile Mariam, said in an interview with the Financial Times. Meles, whose ruling Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front faces a parliamentary election in June next year, gave no deadline for his departure. "I am arguing my case and the others are also arguing their case. I hope we will come up with some common understanding on the way forward that would not require me to resign from my party that I have fought for all my life," said Meles. "We are not talking about Meles only. We are talking about the old generation. The party needs to have new leadership that does not have the experience of the armed struggle." Meles was hailed as part of a new generation of African leaders in the 1990s, but rights groups have increasingly criticised the guerrilla-turned-pre mier for cracking down on opposition in sub-Saharan Africa's second most populous nation. Ethiopia's political climate is closely watched by foreign investors showing increasing interest in agriculture, horticulture and real estate prospects. The country is one of the world's poorest, ranked 170 out of 177 on the United Nations Human Development Index, and one of the largest recipients of international aid. Ethiopia sent thousands of troops into Somalia in 2006 to help topple an Islamist movement holding Mogadishu and most of the south. That drew protests from some in the Muslim world and enraged the Islamists, who regrouped to launch an insurgency. The Ethiopian troops withdrew in January. Somaliland , Puntland army Alliance To rescue Shariif?
Che -Guevara replied to juma-nne's topic in Politics
Bunch of ragtag militias from BS landers will make no difference in Xamar, but the story has it that the unholy regimes from the north will be forced to "make up", and Sharif will be replaced. -

Johannesburg, South Africa - With or without an international mandate, Ethiopian forces have entered Somali territory to back up a fast-failing Somali government. Sources close to Western embassies in Nairobi confirmed news reports that Ethiopian troops have taken positions in the Central Somali town of Beledweyne, and that Ethiopian troops were also active in the Gelgadud region north of the capital of Mogadishu. Kenyan forces, too, are reportedly amassing along the Somali border as a defensive measure, in what Kenya's foreign minister described in a press conference as a matter of "national security." The intervention – officially denied by the Ethiopian government – comes as Somalia's parliament speaker, Sheik Aden Mohamed Nor Madobe, sent an urgent call Saturday for military intervention by Somalia's neighbors within the next 24 hours. At present, pro-government militias and a 3,000-strong contingent of African Union peacekeepers control a few city blocks around the presidential palace in Mogadishu, along with the airport and seaport. The rest is firmly in the hands of hardline Islamist militias. "Mogadishu is almost under the total control of Al Shabab and Hizbul Islam," says an analyst close to Western embassies in Nairobi. "It is unpredictable, due to the nature of clan politics. Nobody knows who is in charge where. Shabab and Hizbul Islam have the upper hand, but there are rumors that the US wants to send ammunition in to the government, but they don't know who to give it to. There is the question of loyalty" among the various militia commanders. web page

^You are right, it's not accurate parallel.

The only sensible thing you said Lazy is the help we could provide to the three million Somalis displaced by this conflict (you have my support there),the honest assessment of the TFG's current status, and the unbearable cost of this conflict (I agree we will pay hefty price regardless who one supports!).
-
^I was talking about security vacuum. There are frictions no doubt as is the case with every Somali political entity, but I don't think their differences wouldn't translate into open warfare. We could speculate, and look for dark clouds, but all that remains to be seen. Do you think the TFG which today essentially called for an invasion is better alternative?
-
Moonlight...What space or vacuum is there be filled. the TFG barely control two square miles of Xamar. Naxar...What would be palatable to the world as far as the faith of Somalia is concerned?
-
I take no pleasure in the death of any Somali, and my condolences to Hashi, Laqanyo, and Addow loved ones, but they chose a side, played their hand and lost! P.S. a great man would realize when to quit.I hope Sharif is as great as Somalis once hoped.
-
Sharif adminsitration should accept inevitable and surrender hence stop the slaughter of the young men fighting on their behalf. Their time is up, no point in fighting lost cause. Any remaining credibility the TFG.2 had was lost today.Spare Somalia the misery, vacate Xamar, and leave it to the capable hands of the true sons of Somalia. This might be your last chance to redeem yourselves!

So bro, the fault is not mine i don't believe, i just maybe should've of ignored his comments..but i am quick to fire the gun when provoked.. Gheelle.T is from Puntland! There are other ways you could have responded to Gheelle's sarcasm, but to insult Somali women whom you think Gheelle is related through qabiil is just plain wrong no matter what your excuses are. Learn a thing or two, you insult, fight or badmouth men on SOL or those elsewhere, but don't INSULT SOMALI WOMEN. And honestly it makes look pitiful. Now admit your mistake and leave there!
-
^But do you have to insult women from the north and south. How did that even get into the conversation?
-
^You think Gheelle is not from Puntland hence you start insulting Somali women that are not from your tuulo.Grew up man!!
