The Dilemma Facing the Jaarso and other Oromonized Somali Tribes
Che -Guevara replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
The D and H blocks are stuck in abusive relationship. They can't live together and they can't live without each other. For better or worse, most people from the two clans have no appetite for breaking up the country or dissolving their sense of identity. They just need to learn to live together. The alternative is no option at all. -
This trip helped him silence the so-called opposition; this is even more interesting considering traveled through Baraxley, Galinsoor, Cadaado and all way to Caabudwaaq and Dhuusomareeb. What's more important throughout his time in Puntland and parts of Galmudug, his security was entirely Somali, locals plus Danab special forces. I understand AMISOM will be in Dhuusomareeb. Fiqi and co will be there to 'welcome' him. But the people are genuinely happy to see him. They are yearning for real leaders. I hope he and Kheyr understand the only legitimacy they need is from their people.

The Mickey Mouse project of Somaliland continues to unravel
Che -Guevara replied to Saalax's topic in Politics
Somalis are hilarious, Tanade left and these guys [below] came back and Grxjs suldaans think dowlada heegaanta are losing it. My advice, 30 yrs of war is enough. I assure you when dust settles, the only losers will be the Somali public. -

The Turks have perfected the concept of soft power. They are producing a generation of Somalis who see Turks favorably.

What will happen to Addis Ababa if Ethiopia falls apart?
Che -Guevara replied to Mooge's topic in Politics
That was general statement but if you want to get specific, Ethiopia is a landlocked. Need I say more? -
Galbeedi, Somalis won't be sitting ducks. It is our lack of forward thinking and luck of leadership that's putting in these situations. Somalis do have natural allies and access to weapons and ports. What they lack is organization and good leadership. Any arrangement between these various parties will be temporary. There's anything that Zenawi ever did for Somalis, it is reawakening of national identities. That will be his lasting legacy

The Dilemma Facing the Jaarso and other Oromonized Somali Tribes
Che -Guevara replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Wrong thread. -
I understand it well. Old Observer wants us to believe Oromos in the form of OPDO, diaspora, security forces, etc are the ones to blame and TPLF-led government is merely benevolent arbitrator. And somehow the Federal Government is strong to keep Egyptians and Eritreans away and not yet powerful enough to reign in unruly Oromo. And ensuring the safety of average citizens is hindered by the mechanisms of federalism.

More powerful empires have been condemned to the dustbins of history. I don't see how Abyssinia is any different. Addis will simply become Finfinnee or be flattened. -

The Dilemma Facing the Jaarso and other Oromonized Somali Tribes
Che -Guevara replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Maakhiri, It doesn't matter who is related to who genetically? What matters how people identity themselves, their cultural, linguistic, religious and politic constructs. And in the case of the Jaarso, identity carries real consequences. -

I had a discussion with Galbeedi. From what he says, there are considered to be Dir Somalis but regardless, their politics was misplaced when they threw their support with Oromo. That said, they are actual lost Somali tribes who have no sense of Somali identity. They may not consider themselves Somalis but Oromos do know who is who.
