  1. Who in the right mind will unite with Ethiopia? The blogger is reading a lot of into PM's visit and obviously, he didn't read the communique. That said, Somalia got nothing from PM's visit other than the shallow "let's respect Somali sovereignty"
  2. Whatever the case is, a nation with comprised sovereignty should not enter into these sorts of complicated agreements that will only benefit one side. A simple MOE with Kenya is causing Somalia such a headache. If you lack the expertise, have no control over your borders, no standing army and is missing the constitutional or legislative tools, you should not be in the business of making agreements such magnitude. And this rush to port auctioning will limit Somalia's abilities to produce anything. We are already importing almost everything.
  3. What's happening here? Observer and Galbeedi agreeing on the same things. It is Eid miracle Ethiopia's situation is very fluid. As we speak, non-Oromo communities within Oromia continue to being targeted, in particular, Somalis. There are protests in the Somali and Harari regions. Problems in southern regions and of course, Arabs and West interference.
  4. Introspect, I am glad Somalia stood firm on the Emirates issue. What's lacking in Somalia is the lack of strategic goals that is not beholden to men. They should adopt a policy of non-alignment as matter of policy. As far as Ethiopia is concerned, emphasis is on Somali sovereignty.
  5. One thing is sure Abiy is looking less and less like tool.
  6. I was surprised how forceful he was in defending Somalis, Considering how much tax [I am thinking like a Yankee] the contribute to the Kenya budget, Somalis including Somalis from Somalia doesn't deserve to be punching bag for insecure !diots.
  7. Abiy seems purposeful and forward-looking while Farmaajo like many before seems to be groveling.
  8. Nothing in there actually benefits Somalia.
  9. That's shame but let's see if this Oromo can free himself from grips of Woyane security apparatus.
  10. National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale on Friday dismissed assertions that the Somali and Muslim communities use ill-gotten cash to start businesses in the city. He said Muslims, especially the Somalis, have been condemned and negatively profiled because of their increased investment within the Central Business District. “We have no apology to make to anyone. Like any other community in Kenya, we have a right under the Constitution to own businesses,” Duale said at Sir Ali Muslim Club grounds in Kariokor. The Muslim and Somali communities say they have been victimised on social media. They are accused of taking over the city centre and Westlands through large businesses and restaurants. Duale said everyone is entitled to own a business as long as it is legal. “We’ve not taken over anyone’s business. We’ll continue to own businesses up to State House,” he said. The Garissa Township MP said they are hardworking and also own ventures in Tanzania and Uganda. “If your community is not hardworking, don’t condemn those who are,” he said. He said religion or ethnic backgrounds should not be used to discriminate against individuals. “Let those who pretend and want to profile our community know that Muslims have many days to live,” Duale said. “We’re not living in the old days. It is 2018 under Constitution. These communities are in good terms with President Uhuru Kenyatta.” On Thursday, the police seized more than 3,000 bags of sugar from Eastleigh. Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i said the goods contained mercury and warned importers that they would be arrested and prosecuted. Another 1,600 bags of sugar were also seized on Mombasa Road the same day while in transit to the same estate. Eastleigh is known for being the centre of business owned and run by Muslims, especially those from the Somali community. Duale said communities that profess the Islamic faith are at the forefront in making sure the war on corruption succeeds. Islam does not accept illegal accumulation of wealth and members support lifestyle audits of public officers, he said. On Thursday, President Uhuru Kenyatta called for a lifestyle audit for all public servants — starting with him and Deputy President William Ruto. Duale urged religious leaders to join the graft war so the country can end the scourge. “Every religion has bad people. We should all bring them out to the public so they face the law,” he said. The legislator urged the government not to relent in its push to ensure Kenya becomes a corruption-free country. https://www.hiiraan.com/news4/2018/Jun/158615/duale_defends_somalis_after_cops_seize_sugar_in_eastleigh.aspx

  14. ADDIS ABABA, June 15 (Reuters) - The United Arab Emirates will deposit $1 billion in Ethiopia's central bank to ease foreign currency shortages in the Horn of Africa nation, an Ethiopian official said on Friday. "$1 billion will be deposited in the National Bank (of Ethiopia) in a few days time to tackle the foreign currency shortage," Ahmed Shide, head of Ethiopia's Government Communications Affairs Office, told Reuters after the country's prime minister Abiy Ahmed met Abu Dhabi's crown prince Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed in Addis Ababa. 15. The fail of the separatists in regards to the IC is that they are to convince IC about borders of country, at least within international legal framework, they are part of. There's their major obstacle and the IC has no intention of endorsing secessionist claims.
  16. It's safe to say Suldaanka, Oodweyne and other secessionists have done more booto and faan than anyone in that region.
