  1. Somalia can do whatever it wants across its side of the border, Somaliland has zero interest in interfering in its neighbours territory. However, Somaliland's territory is for Somalilanders which includes every village and every town that falls within Somaliland borders. There is nothing that will be shared with another authority least of all Mogadishu.
  2. Waa deegaanka Xamaas ee deegaanka Maydh, Sanaag..
  3. Awr todoba lugoodleh, bal adba. Waa indho sarcaad... waa laba awr captured at just right time to give the illusion. Taken @ Gabiley region.
  4. Don't put your own words into my mouth. With regards to Somaliland, its position is clear. However, there are always opportunists who will not tire from trying to destabilise Somaliland. These opportunists, some have been around as long as Somaliland and they never learned their lessons. In fact, these opportunists are at their weakest today with every avenue closed. They no longer any relevance including to those in the Diaspora that they used to get funds from. Like I said, those who are wishing doom & gloom will only be disappointed. Come 2020, I will still be here posting all the good things that Somaliland is achieving with or without Recognition. This caravan will move on.
  5. One of Hadraawi's famous sayings was "Siyaasadu Aabe ma leh". It is got a very deep meaning in the context of Somali politics. I used to post the articles like the one below when I was a junior back in the days. Anyway, take it as a food for thought. It's posted on Hiiraan Online. I am sure if it was related to Somaliland, it would be a head line story on many websites including this.
  6. Saalax, It is human nature that when what you expected and what you got are opposites, you will be dismayed, frustrated or at worse angry at someone or something. It is little wonder the doomsayers like yourself never lost a beat when things get a little tough in Somaliland. All of a sudden, your crystal balls show you all doom and gloom - predicting the end of Somaliland as you see it. You remind me of a gentleman from Awdal who used to write articles about Somaliland on Wardheernews and Hiiraan Online. Too bad, he gave up on his articles - because none of his predictions never materialised. Here is an article he wrote about Somaliland, predicting 2013 was the year Somaliland would collapse - when the issues about the local elections was hottest. (http://www.wardheernews.com/is-the-2013-going-to-be-the-year-somaliland-will-finally-bite-the-dust
/ ) Time after time, this nation proves your wrong. What you conceive as a sign of weakness, is really an opportunity to reshape and remake this country into what it should be. No one expects things to be smooth, or all well. But every crisis, every problem and every hiccup is an opportunity. Judging from the past, we can all agree that Somaliland has done quite well sailing around those tough times and hurdles. Knowing my people very well, I am 100% sure they will over come all obstacles that come with flying colours. Please do not forget to revisit this topic in year 2020 and lets compare notes then.
  7. That is not an answer. I am looking for your take since you have mentioned something is unravelling. In what ways, how so? Where is your analysis to back your claims.
  8. I don't think there is any parallels the border issue between Ethio & Eritrea to that of Somaliland and Somalia The issue with Puntland is not about a dispute of where the border line runs that of which existed between Ex-British Somaliland and Ex-Italian Somalia. They know where that border is located. However, they don't recognise as a president fact. Instead they want to create a border based on kinship/clan affiliation. Mind you, the clans they are claiming as part of their border also spills over into Ethiopia. Hence, they are not consistent in their claims. Anyway, the issue between Somaliland and Puntland is coming to a close either through the barrel of the gun or through recognising what is right.
  9. Saalax, Give us a brief on what you think is unravelling? What is your take on what the traditional leader said in that gathering?
  10. Free market is a must for development. With regards to the accusations about refusal of Submarine cable for Telesom, I think the full story is unknown. There are half truths here and there. And as far as Somalis are concerned, they will spice up half truths to the max. Until we have clear communications from the Telesom regarding this issue, I stand on the fence. I have not heard the issue raised by any of the Parliamentarians. Mind you, Telesom is a powerful company and can field a powerful lobby group. But on principle, free market is a must for a healthy development.
  11. And what was the pattern regarding Eritrea? And what is the different way of approaching this?
  12. If Mogadishu tries to muscle its way to gaining control of Somaliland Air space, surely it won't succeed. Shutting down the Air space, both Hargeisa and Mogadishu loose. But that is how it will end if there is no agreement between the two sides. With regards to the Qatar Airways, Somaliland's support for UAE/Saudi block is symbolic.
  13. Abwaan Dheeg ahna Xildhibaan oo sida caruurta wax loogu sheegu ugu sheegay siyaasadda ma dhalayska ah reer Somalia ku dhaqmaan.
  14. The Airspace issue is hot topic b/c it would mark the first time Mogadishu has direct control of something that affects Hargeisa's sovereignty. As of today, there is absolutely nothing that Mogadishu has leverage over Hargeisa that will affect the day to day lives of Somalilanders. If this takes place, it would force chaos over the Somali Airspace as Hargeisa will take charge of its rightful control over her own air. In turn, this will confuse the Airmen and may hasten the complete shutdown of the Somali Airspace by International Airlines. As SRSG Keating rightful mentioned, the Airspace needs both Mogadishu and Hargeisa to reach a decision. The previous Administration in Villa Somalia signed an accord with previous Somaliland administration of Siilaanyo which would allow the shared Air space to be controlled from Hargeisa until a final binding decision is reached over the overarching political issue between the two sides.
  15. Sxb, Puntland is wasting their time and effort on this issue. It is a done deal. And if Puntland doesn't vocate Somaliland soil peacefully, then they will be evicted by force ala Tukaraq style.
