    Answer the Question

When I was listening to the Khudba of my imaam yesterday after salaadda Tarawiix. Of course that is gone since the mods here think they can play with me. Question | If you would hear from your doc that you have a serious disease and you only have one year to live. What would you do?
  2. Than I suggest you edit your post. What you wrote is quite hurtful not only for our brother Orgilaqe, but also for you in your last ten days of Ramadan. Its never too late for Towba brother.
  3. This is for Orgilaqe and co...eat your hearts out nigga haters...you aint worth nothing more than the dirt he walks on. Are you muslim?
  4. ^UN-Habitat is busy with that bro. Its working with local governments of large cities in Puntland and Somaliland to work on town planning. Name streets, clear roads, identify city problems concerning water, electricity, green, infrastructure etc. This is definetily an issue that is being worked on. About better looking buildings. I'm sure they are going to improve. The difference between the buildings in 2000 and today is a difference between night and day. Besides that, I'm working on that myself. Just wait and see. Wacdaraha Aduunka (nice name btw), I'll be waiting for your pics bro. I heard Capital Hotel is in the centre, which is a plus. Taar City Hotel is so far up north, Reer Gaalkacyood will say that even Bosasso is closer. Yoonis, everybody will confirm to you that the people of Gaalkacyo are nuts. Camel Milk, same here bro. Most of my relatives are planning to go to Kismaayo once things settle down over there.
  5. If you don't know what you're talking about, than I suggest you keep your mouth shut. Zip those lips of yours. I mean those two lips on your face not your other two lips.
  6. Simplicity those are very good ideas, but beware money is definetily an issue for us Somalis. If its too expensive, than they'll even settle with a lone qurac somewhere in the neighbourhood. Rokko, yes its pretty worrisome that there are no garages. Leave your STi in Australia. Soo Maal, Hillaac is moving forward, but there are other construction companies that build very good-quality dreamhomes, such as Diriye, Guryosamo and even Mubarak, which has improved a lot since 2002. Did you know that Puntland is the best area for a construction company to invest in generally speaking. The building material can be imported for cheap in Bosasso port, the Bantu IDPs are skilled and very very cheap workers and the security and demand are there.
  7. Originally posted by Libaax-Sankataabte: conspiracy theories, misinformation. Nothing more. Yes indeed. Bro Soo Maal, SSC is an important part of Puntland, without SSC there is no Puntland. Than its just Maamulka Woqooyi-Bari like before 1998. The reason why the president and the rest of the TFG have set foot in the SSC regions, is because they are careful. They don't want to be seen in the international community as the provoker. We all know Somaliland is going to scream to whomever listens if the president enters the SSC, which would become an unnessecary risk. They would be lambasting; "he has entered our territory, he declares war." That didn't happen and now they are watching Korneyl Yeey [You know how Hargeisa was in a state of shock the night of his election, whereas Laascaanood was in a party mood - waa taariikh meel ku qoran] become more dangerous and more powerful after each passing month. Good luck for them that Somaliland is last priority, the south's resurrection comes first. But anyway, it wouldn't make any sense if a federal system is chosen, why would the TFG want and need to have the SSC with Somaliland? That would be contradictory, because the SSC people have spoken and decided that they are part and parcel of Puntland. Not only are they with their brethren in Puntland, their interests lie in Puntland [sSC uses Bosasso port, the capital Garowe is a stonethrow away]. Marka waxaan waa iska sheeko. In Dowlad-Goboleed oo dhan hal Reer keliya ka kooban tahay, kuwa kalena boqolaal qowmiyado waa wax aan jirin. The president intends to have the SSC as part of Puntland, this is all bullshit. Besides, SSC's voice is stronger than the TFG. What SSC wants goes. Saas weeye. President Yusuf's troops (his ex-militiamen) are still in Aricadeeye and are still ready to defend the SSC with the SSC people. Remember the possible showdown between PL and SL in their parliamentary elections. He would have made those troops retreat within the passed year if he didn't care about SSC anymore and send them along with the other troops of Abqaale military base in Xarfa, Mudug to the South. Instead SSC stands solid against Somaliland and Laascaanood is booming more than ever before. Guryaha iyo daararka hadda laga dhisayo LA hadaad aragtid, waadba suuxaysaa. I remember Suldaanka saying that the kids in Somaliland only know that they are Somalilanders. Well SSC children kaaba sii darane, they know that they are Somalis and they know that that was the case generations before.
  8. What's with the invasion of the Australians in this forum? Good Lord have mercy. Before we know it, bored office workers in Sydney have taken over SOL talking about how Somalis used to roam here once upon a time like the Aboriginals.
  9. ^Somalipride let's not call each other fools. You are right its rather foolish to praise Siad Barre's tenure and slander Cadde's administration. Windtalker is known to be an inconsistent individual, but that's his problem. I have no idea why any sane Puntlander would even dream of asking for independence now! I don't know either.
  10. Here are some pics of Project Bosasso Nr.1 [Xaafadda New Bosasso] of Hillaac Real Estate and Construction, which has a partnership with the Amal Express Group. There are actually 91 houses instead of 100. More like these Real Estate projects of Hillaac are underway or have allready begun. Bosasso 1 | 91 houses - almost completed Bosasso 2 | 80 houses - started september 30 2005 Gaalkacyo 1 | 300 houses - started september 30 2005 Laascaanood | 250 houses - planned to start in 2005 Gaalkacyo 2 | 300 houses - planned to start in 2006 Garowe | 150 houses - planned to start in 2006 Carmo | 100 houses - planned to start in 2006 These mini-villages will have a total of 1271 homes within a period of 3 to 4 years, excluding the shopping centres, mosques, schools etc. that come with the mini-villages. Half of it are going to be build in Gaalkacyo, where majority of Hillaac and Amal's shareholders come from. As you can see waxaa keliya harey qurxinta iyo qalabeynta guryaha, like the tiles, aluminium windows, detailed painting etc.
  11. Ilaahey haa uu naxariisto marxuumka. I hereby send to you and your family my condolences.
  12. That doesn't surprise me. Mogadishu University is the most advanced higher educational institution in the Horn of Africa with the exception of the University of Addis Abeba. Quite impressive for a school in a chaotic and anarchic setting. The Managers of MU must have done some serious networking and lobbying to keep this school afloat for the students in dalka hooyo. As always South Africa dominates the top rankings.
  13. ^ Callypso, you're not talking to Steve. El Bizarro, welcome to the forum. It was I who posted your journals about Somalia. I have read your writings with much interest, and I must say that you're not a racist as some here claim. I would like to say thank you on behalf of the SOL forum for the service you have commited yourself to for the Somali people. I see that you have learned much during your stay in Somalia, as did I when I visited Somalia a while back in exactly the same area that you worked in. Its a shame you didn't accompany the guards when they were buying weapons; visiting the weapon's market in Gaalkacyo is really quite something. You can test out the guns for free, you'll have to pay for the bullet of course. You took some awesome pictures. I was especially impressed with the shot of the desert flowers. Indeed its amazing that life seems to find its way in even the most impossible conditions, let alone that people inhabit this piece of earth without losing their mind. Anyway, enjoy your stay here in SOL. Most of us do appreciate your writings about us Somalis and do not think you are a racist prick. Your reports about the health conditions in Somalia were very interesting. As in matter of fact, please share with us some more about your days in Somalia. PS. The heartbreak hotel you refer to in your photo album has been completed a year ago. Before: After:
  14. Great stuff. Thanks Soo Maal, Laascaanood looks beautiful. PS. radiossc.com's images are always too small. I would have liked to see those pics in original size.
  15. Wordette, you know what he means, luggooyonimada iska dhaaf'e. Baashi means independance in sovereignty. Sovereignty and autonomacy are two different cajones. Aluminium, a BIG NO! Puntland has invested big time in the south's politics. That was not for nothing sxb.
  16. He is married to a Somali woman? She must be one that has abandoned her religion.
  17. Opinion. Sxb there are million and one ways to divide the country into regional states, so that is the only plausible way you and adeerkiis see it as dheh. Is that so? Than please give me an example of a whole different, yet realistic composition of Somalia's future regional states. If we look at how participants of the grand conferences in Borama, Hargeisa, Burao have successfully erected the state of Somaliland and the grand conference in Garowe that established the autonomous Puntland state, one can conclude that it will merely take time and money for the Somalis that have yet to establish their autonomous state. Its not like you have to start from scratch, the remaining Somalis can adopt the Puntland charter and constitution and revise it to meet their specific needs. Of the three, South-West State [baidoa] will have the most difficulties, for it has more diversity in its population than the rest of Somalia put together [From semi-Bantu groups to Barwani] and the traditional leaders do not wield as much influence as in the north. Not to mention the certain warlords that are taking the people hostage, such as Xaabsade and Indhacadde. But you're right, its going to be one heck of a task. For instance Cabudwaq district is a unique case. Its a district that is located as an island in a sea of rival tribes. Should this district join their brethren in Puntland as an entity outside the 'mainland', join the Central state and become a minority group? The name issue could easily be brushed off as a mere nuisance. Lose the existing names that end with -land. Puntlanders and Somalilanders can use it in informal occasions (the latter would also have to include their flag as an informal one). And just name the states after their location in Somali. Woqooyi-Galbeed State | Awdal, Hargeisa, Saxil, Togdheer and West-Sanaag. Capital: Hargeisa. Woqooyi-Bari State | East- and South-Sanaag, Sool, Cayn, Bari, Karkaar, Nugaal and North-Mudug. Capital: Garowe. Dhexe State | South-Mudug, Galguduud, Hiiraan and Shabellaha Dhexe. Capital: Beled Weyn. Koonfur-Bari State | Bay, Bakool and Shabellaha Hoose. Capital: Baidoa. Koonfur-Galbeed State | Jubbada Hoose, Jubbada Dhexe and Gedo. Capital: Kismayo. Benadir State | 16 districts: Kaaraan, Cabdicasiis, Huriwaa, Xamar-Weyne, Xamar-Jajab, Shangaani, Wadajir, Waaberi, Dharkaynley, Wardhiigley, Hawl-Wadaag, Hodan, Boondheere, Yaaqshiid, Shibis and Dayniile. Capital: Mogadishu.
  18. There is no other way than to divide the country in those 5 states plus a neutral Banadir State oo ummadda uu dhexeeya. The traditional leaders, civil society etc. of the three remaining states could start negotiating with each other about the structure of the new Dowlad Goboleedyo (federal states) and of course power-sharing agreements at grand conferences supported by the TFG in Beled Weyn, Baydhabo and Kismaayo respectively. This can be done without the TFG. This federalism might highlight the division of our nation along tribal lines for generations to come, but its like democracy. Its bad, but the best we got.

    The Contender

The Contender is as fake as the WWF. When I saw the black dudes getting their asses kicked in the ring, I knew that this shit was fake. Sly is just trying to fatten his pockets, I mean does anyone remember his last movie? Nuff said.
  20. Ilaahey waxaan uga baryayaa dembi dhaaf iyo naxariis. Innaa Lillaahi Waa Inna Ileeyhi Raajicuun.
  21. Better yet HornAfrique, this is evidence that there is peace in Gedo. Very good. The country is really moving forward! 70% increase in prices? Xuux I hope you had your boos allready secured bro.
  22. On a lighter note - Sky, where in the BBC artical did you read about the Eyl pirates? I'm really interested. I'm looking at the bigger picture. Other articles that were published later reported that the pirates are from Eyl. The BBC didn't have that info at that particular time.
  23. Some people need ESOL classes, the dude embraced Islam, he didn't convert to Islam. Last time I heard Micheal Jackson became a muslim. What a joke. Don't expect to see an Abdullah Muhammud Smith any time soon. Its just Big Will.
  24. I always try to be the most pleasant neighbour during prayers as possible. I move down my toes gently towards the feet of my neighbours, instead of crushing their feet like some do. When its time to bow down, I make sure my head doesn't bump into the behind of the brother praying in front of me. I also make sure my feet won't cause trouble to the brother behind me, when he's about to land his face on the ground by curling them. After the obligatory prayers and Salaadda Shafci Wal Watri, I always shake the hands of my neighbours or at least smile at them. What irritates me though is when everybody leaves the prayer room. Ummad dhan pushing you from behind, you have to duck shoes and odayaal oo huruufinaaya when you're putting on your shoes (expecting you to put it on within 2 seconds). But the overpowering smell of some shouldn't be such a problem. Just breathe through your mouth or cope with it. You'll be rewarded for that.
