    Writing a book

I would have liked to have given you pos rep Chimera 'cuz you're right, but I can't. I did get a meeting with a publishing house in Jan, if that helps. It went horribly - if anyone cares to know. I gave a terrible pitch in which I tried to sound very smart and prepared. It was cringeworthy. They gave me two copies of their best-selling books by the end of the meeting, and I hid my face behind the books until I was safely outside. They did ask me to send a chapter in though. I'm still recovering.
  3. Generally when you see a person constantly complaing about someone, they're usually the one enabling the drama. This video isn't doing justice to men The guy is complaining to his friend like he is suffering from menopause - that's the real joke!

  6. "'His vision is much worse in bright sunlight.'" Well our vision is much worse in dim moonlight, duh! We already know all the things a blind person can't do directly due to blindness or social expectations. I'd have preferred to read an article that told us what they can do in spite of blindness and/or what society expects of them. Those are always much more thought-provoking, fun and eye-opening.
  7. The title of the thread only gave away the fact that you're not exactly the brightest kid around. But hey, whatever works for you dude, right? I wouldn't judge you even if you believed in Scientology. 'Cause judging is only for the grand Judge, Allah swt... that you don't believe in but which is still fine, 'cause I don't judge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBmzGJcIK08
  8. Sad. Also poor Chris Nolan, TDK was surrounded by Heath Ledger's death and now this. But you know what's even worse? The folks at WB are more shocked by the lowered grosses due to the shooting, as TDKR had a shot of beating Marvel's The Avengers weekend record. It's a cold world we're living in. Miskiin, haduu madow ahaan lahaa booliiska probably would have shot him in the parking lot in the name of self-defence.
  9. We're irrational! It's official! You heard it straight from the horse's mouth. Now, free-man, care to share with us the rest of the secrets of the universe - as you as a very rational man seem to be in the know? In the meantime, we, the irrational bunch, will be waiting with great curiosity
  10. I think you might be right, maybe it's a lame attempt at satire.
  11. *vomits* Is this woman/article serious?

Che Under 170cm is alright for women but not for men. The good thing is I can wear heels even with a relatively short 175cm guy and he can still feel all macho Whats happening to this thread?
  14. You seem to forget that women weren't allowed to do pretty much anything for the longest time. Now that they're allowed, they're simply catching up Blackflash, your argument is as inane as to argue that white people are inherently more intelligent than black people because they've invented most of the inventions ("what's keeping black people from winning Nobel prizes?") Most of the time it's opportunity, silly. Even today women graduating top of their class from the most prestigious universities in the world are losing out on the top jobs to male drop-outs because of the old boy network. I may be pretty much watering down my whole post but I can't resist :

That's not a particularly nice thing to say The-freeman! EDIT: I forgive you for your grave insult.
  16. Michaela DePrince tells of being called a 'devil child', hiding a magazine cover in her underwear and prejudice in ballet http://www.guardian.co.uk/stage/2012/jul/16/sierra-leone-ballet-mchaela-deprince This is incredibly moving and really inspiring in a lot of ways.

  18. LOL @ wiilka fanaanada tuuray and people trying to dodge it haha. What a weird choice of song for the video, but at least Somaalidaan mareekanka are trying and doing something. But true to Somali style it looks they didn't rehearse much

    I'm SoOoOory!

I'm sorry that I haven't been praying these last few days. The excuse has been that I've ran out of nail polish remover, but that can really be solved in like two minutes. I'm slipping. I'm sorry I haven't called my Mum in a week. I'm sorry I hang up on my sister today. I'm sorry I lied to a decent brother that I'm seriously involved with someone else when I'm not and just found him a little unattractive because of his height. I'm sorry that I have so many flaws and I'm not trying harder to better myself. I'm sorry that I'm not reaching my full potential spiritually; opting to tweet, instagram or pinterest (in the grand scheme of things) meaningless stuff instead. I watched this documentary on dragonflies the other week. The little creatures struggled so much and for what? Bilooyin oo nolol eh. It seemed so insignificant. But curiously, dragonflies have been flapping their pretty, self-cleaning transparent wings for over 320 million years. What am I trying to say? You tell me.
