  1. That's absolutely brilliant but the structure looks a bit contemporary

    Hello

Haha. I have been blessed with the interest but not with the gift of writing it, I'm 'fraid. I am absolutely rubbish, nearly as bad as McGonagall. In fact he is my icon.

All my life I thought I would never live in Somalia, I thought it was too backward and unsivilized. But recently I have developed a keen interest in Somalia and its culture. The explanation, I figured, was that I wanted to feel home. The explanation for my sudden interest in Somalia is what you, dear Centurior, wrote. I've never quite had the chance to feel what it is like to 'be home'. In a counry where everyone is Somali, speaks Somali, roadmaps, signs and everything in Somali... now that is a dream! Wow. If we could turn Somalia into Canada or England... why would we live in the mentioned countries? From the bottom of my heart I really hope Somalia will find peace and with Allah willing turn into a civilized country. The truth is, however, that Somalis are immensely selfish people. I doubt many people would want to waste their lives to build a safe, stable and a happy country for their children to come.

    Hello

Thanks. I like taking the piss out of crappy poetry, hence the nick. Although I must say I write a few too many of them myself.

    Somali Literature

Hello. I am very interested in Somali literature and would like to ask if there are any books on it (preferrably in English). Or classic pieces by great Somali writers. Can anyone suggest anything? I am not very much into Somali poetry (I pretty much understand nada of it, and I am more into contemporary poetry). But any information on Somali novels or short stories would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  6. The only thing I fear in this whole Litvinenko thing is that some brainiac in DC will get the idea of accusing terrorists (read: Muslims) of using radioactive toxics. "Terrorists planned to use radioactive metal to cause mass destruction" "Police discovers radioactive toxins in South London - Asian-born suspects to be held at maximum security station" "Muslims found with radioactive isotope" That would be quite bad. But like Bush said of beating "islamic facism"; we must do everything to win this war. Scary times we're living.
