  3. So what have the women in UAE done so far to protest against this ruling? - Nothing?? The ruling is contradictory and is challengable for a mere fact that Islam preaches equality between the two sexes - the right of women being the forefront of its teachings. So where did the intepretation go wrong,to allow a man to 'beat' his wife if in disagrement in order to 'save' a marriage? - it makes no sense. If Islam empowers women by having the rights to own property,to inherit etc, how can the same Islam permits the beating of a woman? - this is where those whom are in the know how need to challege the 'interpretation' of the ayah in question,so not to send contradictory messages. Ngonge - you want us to accept your prejudice against women. Unfortunately it puts you [your logic] in the same category as those whom see women as lesser being - [You is a bully]

@ juxa, you have come up with a story line..lol,nice one! Allamagan, those marks means she is 'taken' - mouth tatoos are common in Mali,as they indicate if a girl was still a virgin or not.something to do with them not taken into slavery - as the slave masters used to look for unblemised girls.

  12. ^ ,are you refering to the 'Abu Mansuur's and co .Salwar Khameez's.. Interesting though, each era and its influence is shown through the attire worn by people. For example, the colonial past, the man MMA mentioned was dressed similarly to how perhaps those in Milan or London would dress at that time - in order to be seen equal one had to assimilate, this meant speaking the language, dressing alike etc. Now we have the Al-shabaab with their affiliation with the Afghanistans and Pakistanis - we see Somalis with Salwar Khameez/Burqa.. Oh,and during Siad era the Kaunda/safari suits were the norm - ah,socialist/pan africanist era? OLOL, loved the pictures.
