  7. It feels like all the while we are watching the brainwashing continuing under our very noses; i.e. our younger brothers and sisters, even the cool headed Ayoubto and Jacaylbaro, appear to be going through the same education system that made us into what we hate. Yet it is like there is nothing we can do about it. Was not Somalia, including Northwestern supposed to be going forward; getting better; developing to where today would be better than yesterday? It is true that much has been revealed to us that was hidden before but I would hate for the younger generation to have to go through the same act of de-colonizing the mind as we did. Why shouldn't I rather enjoy seeing someone grow up who was taught CORRECTLY from the first? It hurts to see a one who is a victim of an unjust system being the one who defends it even more ardently than its author like the policemen do. At least these 'worst human beings' I talk of are STILL HUMAN BEINGS. There is a Somali proverb which says that a rod is shaped when it is still green and young. That it is because a dry and mature branch will tend to break when bent. That said, Mr., you keep insisting that the Admiral is such and such a thing, without fully over standing his movement. What you are doing is dwelling on the external symbols and attributes of the movement without over standing the inner essence of the movement. But if you keep an open mind and throw away your pre-conceptions, you may gain more insight into what the movement is really all about. I'm not gonna get into no more big debates about the movement with you, you have your pre-conceived notions of what the movement stands for, if you have an open mind, then you will eventually learn different through checking the different posts on this board. Prof.Gandhi or the Black Ahmed , no idea what you hate most in them. Butt you shouldn't let the individuals that you may hate, define your entire view of the movement. I'm just gonna agree to disagree on that cause it doesn't seem like you're budging from your position - only time will tell as you examine people's reasoning. Back to the Admiral and the movement: I don't expect you to be sincere or have the gut to lift a finger in attempt to free your poor kinsmen and women in Aware(or Gaashamo) who are equally suffering under the highlander's occupation. The fact remains that most of the people on the ground fighting against the highlanders are grassroots of the O Somali people, not wagaash secessionist. Mainly the point, is that regardless whether you think the leader of the movement should do no wrong and be the greatest leader of pan somalism or whatever.... even if you are convinced of that, revolutions are NEVER made by one man or one "great leader", they are ALWAYS made by the masses of the people. However, I am glad to see that our occasionally acerbic exchanges don't seem to have led to any personal animosity. Personally I'm a fan of camels, so I don't like beef, you sight? Just cool, respect, peace and love to Somalia(you) and we will continue to build!
  8. ..looking at our present day situation, we see that glossing over our history will not work. Just as we try to gloss over the rampant tribalism within our own somali community we try to gloss over the same thing in our relationship with all non-tigre communities. We are not united! It is only a fool who tries to unite/collaborate with those who hate him thinking mistakenly that they can all benefit from unity against a common enemy. The truth is many near tigres would simply take the place of the oppressor against somali people if given the chance. That does not make all tigres or near-tigres evil. It just makes them victims of the same tigre aganism system that elevates corruption over good governance. Until we address this properly by engaing the history there can be no true unity. The idea of supporting the enemy of your enemy has never been a smart one and is the device of politicians, not right thinking informed people. The enemy of your enemy might well turn out to be your enemy. When you have gone so far into the wilderness counting on your enemy’s enemy to be your ally and then you turn around and find them conveniently united against you… ahhh what then?

There was a tribe in Africa which was very fierce and warring...they would battle all the tribes in the area, and they always won. As a victory trophy, they would take the throne of the chief of the defeated tribe and carry it home, chanting victory chants and singing the whole way. When they got home, they would put the throne in the attic of the grass hut. This went on for quite some time, and soon the throne collection grew, adding to the prestige of the tribe. One day, they battled a tribe of fairly large people, some might call them giants. They won, and they struggled to get the throne home...but the chanting and joyousness prevailed as usual. When they got home, they had the ritual of putting the throne in the attic of the grass hut, but the weight was too much. The ceiling collapsed, killing everyone on the tribe. The moral: People who live in grass houses shouldn't stow thrones.
  10. ^Well often times there is very little to be positive about when dealing with these issues. It would be nice I suppose to talk about the flowers and the trees etc but that would not take us anywhere would it? It is good that you mentioned, the freedom fighter and the leader of the noble cause Admiral M.Omar Isman and the well respected Prof.Gandhi. Those are among the few men who have resisted and fought against what Siilanyo and Riyale couldn't resist. I hope you take some lessons from the board and engage them further. What you may see as an insult is necessary. We discuss issues very openly and plainly here, no eggshells to walk on, and no claims of peace and love and unity all the time to cloud the issues. They are tough and they must be dealt with plainly. It is difficult for many secessionists to deal with these issues because they take them personally… AS WELL THEY SHOULD! When we get personally offended then it should make us examine our behavior and hidden prejudices even more and consciously refine our own behavior. No one has called you stooge(enemy collaborator) but many of us who would not see ourselves as stooge have elements of prejudice that we need to deal with in ourselves. This applies to both secessionist and non-secessionist and all the shades in between. Ones can feel offended or uncomfortable or ones can use that feeling to inspire them to learn. The choice is theirs. Many secessionists have passed through the board, dealt with this discomfort and perceived negativity, engaged the issues legitimately and have come out better for it. Many non-secessionists have had to do the same thing. When we look at the system, as it exists, we often have to realize that although we ourselves are not prejudiced (or so we think) it is often just as much how we are perceived by others as much as how we perceive ourselves that counts. It is how we are perceived that benefits us in this system. As a secessionist person you do benefit. That is fact. That does not mean you are stooge or enemy collaborator. It just means that we all have much work to do to check ourselves and find the best way to crush the system that embraces some and excludes others. That is the starting point for all. Having said this, do not feel that we must not then be angry and hard-hitting in our responses and opinions. We have a right to be in dealing with ALL injustices, invasion, secession and colonialism. This is not a place to ‘play’ nice. We respect each other and try to reason respectfully but playing nice is not really a prerequisite.

So are the 900 ONLF marines who landed recently. But you are half in denial as usual. Ps. Good luck with the fresh law Ayoubto.

  16. ^Well by counting those Eelo, Burco, Odweyne, Adna etc..., it seems you have more Colleges than you have toilets. What is up with that? Do you have any idea what University means? A university is a place of higher learning which teaches students to be productive and have excellent work Ethic, I am sure those proclaimed "universities" teach the wagaash kids to be excellent pimps for the queen (western NGO workers) and excellent beggars. For 2010-2011 session, how many of them will get admitted to Admas,,? Besides, your uncle Mr Haile Sellasie couldn't persuade to change the mind of my uncle Makhtal Dahir after imprisoning him for 27 years. But you will not admit the truth, and values of the resistances that my uncles founded for Somalis. Ps.Why Omaar was refused to visit his father's tacsi?
