  1. Moderators and Admin, I kindly request these pictures taken off because they serve no purpose here but propaganda and to humiliate each other. I believe in the freedom of speech and would die for it but this is total humiliation and what is more, both sides in this conflict are Somalis. Thank you. PS. I would also appreciate if other pictures relating to this conflict in other posts are removed too.

Brother Moti, there is no need to thank me. It should be me doing the thanking, cause you are doing a great work for our society. Do not worry your hard work wont be in vain InshaAllah and I will do my best to help my people and wont give up on this fight. This report is very disturbing to say the least and I believe is a wake up call for our women. We need more men like you brother to help our women to see the light. Our women are misguided today by some alien concepts and forgot the fact that we have traditions and cultures of our own. Miss Sun, the sensible men of Somalia would be lost without us! I hope you will take the advice of brother Moti sis.

Moti, I have read the research you mentioned and I am surprised the nomads here misunderstood your intentions. I am afraid Moti is right, we need to train our women for their benefit and ours, since they r the cause of divorce as proved by this independent scientific research. Keep up the good work Moti and you will be rewarded by God. Thank you on behalf of sensible Somali men!
  5. ^^^ It doesn’t change your IQ whether you are Somali or not and so I suggest you try something else PK! On a serious note though, I don’t trust IQ tests cause they are inherently flawed and thus don’t tell us anything meaningful. However, people who are arguing, my scores are high here, and therefore my country should be above average they need to study statistics.

  8. Originally posted by Bari_Nomad: Presumably now. Bari, you are not wrong there! Somaliland’s best hope of recognition lies with there being peace in Somalia and then could the road towards divorce start one way or another. That time could be now or the next 5 to 10 years! PS.Thesis are written every day and nobody bothers to read them and neither are they used to argue for recognition! People here are behaving like number 10 (Downing Street) in nicking people’s thesis and basing their claims on it!
  9. Xarago, 2+2 will never equal to 5 and that is because this is ‘absolute’ knowledge and only a fool would wait for that day! On the other hand, what you are telling us here at best is an educated guess and at worst, your views are influenced (and blinded) by the hate you have for AY. So find a better analogy! Now it all boils down to this simple equation, how certain are you in what you are telling us? Don’t just quote me numbers here but please base your numbers on something solid! Furthermore, even if you are 95% certain, then why don’t you give this government a chance for the sake of the poor, since even 1% chance is better than nothing which is what we have now? “Simple as that.†Nothing is simple in this world and especially Somali politics and problems.
  10. Che, yes it seems so lool! If you have something to change to, then go ahead. Cause for me nothing springs to mind now. Cheers
  11. At least you answered one question! “The opposition by manyâ€, now tell me who are these ‘many’ and how did you quantify this number? I too can pull a number out of thin air but I won’t do that because it is dishonest and misleading. As far as I can tell the majority of the players in Somali politics were involved in this match and so they cant protest the results once they have agreed to the rules of the game at the beginning. So my question of these ‘many’ still stands. “It is only a matter of time before it will be proven that he is on a warpath with the veryones who elcted him.†Since it is ‘a matter of time’, why don’t you give this government that time and let it fail and then say I told you so? So until your predication comes true I say, stand aside and let this government take its best shot at the problem facing Somalia, rather than just criticising (which is easy to do and anyone can do it!) and spreading propaganda here. If you believe in what you are telling us, you don’t have to wait long to gloat, so be a little bit patient! That is only fair (don’t you think?) for the sake of the poor Somalis who need this government most, unlike the majority of SOL members!
  12. “What makes this one different.†That is a very good question Xarago! The answer though is something both you and I know except that you don’t want to admit it. Nevertheless, I will tell you, the world is tired of our problems and us. The biggest difference though is, we have tried so many times and each time we ended up with something far from perfect and so I say, we should stop trying and learn to live with what we can achieve. “Now before you jump on the band-wagon of we needed a nation think has it been achieved in the right format.†I assure you I never jump on bandwagons and I am always suspicious of popular causes. Thus, my support for this government or the last one that failed is not based on any tribal loyalty but out of the love I have for my country of birth. For me personally it doesn’t make a difference whether there is a government or not in Somalia; since all my loved ones and I reside outside Somalia. Having said that I care cause of the poor people who are suffering the most and their rights being violated by men with guns. All the tribes/clans who participated in it agreed the ‘format’ or the formula based on this government and they can’t back down now because the out come is not what their desired! In addition, we can’t change the rules in the middle of the game however flawed they might be. Thus, AY won fair and square! Tell me, would your level of opposition been this level if someone other than AY was elected? All those who took part in this reconciliation process are as bad as each other. Plus there is nothing better than this for now and hence let us learn to accept what is within our reach instead of asking what we cant achieve and end up with nothing. Do you have another alternative since you cant accept this format or its results? Don’t tell me a Western style government or an Islamic state cause neither are achievable in the foreseeable future. Finally, remember is easy to criticise anything but is damn hard to come up with an alternative solution.

I hope u understand Xarago, get off your high horse and remember, ‘beggars cant be choosers’. Therefore, I beg to differ and say, when you are hungry you will eat anything to save your life including ‘baqti’ and so spare us the Somali mentality of pride! We have to wake up from our long period of crying and realise, we are beings who can also laugh. For the last 14 years, we have been the laughingstock of the rest of the world. Thus, the time has come for us to laugh and take our rightful place among the nation states.
  14. I would ask for the position of Interior Minster, so that I can control Moti and prevent him from full filling his discriminatory policies
  15. Originally posted by Sullen_Sue: Justcause, walaal Somalis are Africans, by saying you're proud to be African you’re ultimately saying you're proud to be Somali too! (Doesn't it? :  Sue we being African comes after being Somali. So my suggestion is we should first learn how to love ourselves at home before we spread the love around the continent! Charity begins at home they say and I say love begins at home.
  16. Shouldn’t we first be proud of being Somali before we move to the rest of the continent??? I suggest we should do that first and then we will stop killing each other and be proud of who we are at home then move to the rest of Africa!
  17. The woman who told you that needs to be educated about Islam cause she doesn’t know what she is talking about. Carry on what you are doing and NO (big NO) is not wrong nor is it Haraam.
  18. OG_Gilr; you are right dear this post is full of holes and like you I believe it to be a fabricated story. It makes you wonder how always, the good Muslims find the light!! Even if we assume the story to be true, I don’t think someone like that would change so easily. What is more I don’t think they would have had the need to go to the church in the first place, unless they already didn’t believe in what they told us about themselves! It seems though, we blame the west for all our problems and I wonder when we will accept them and deal with them? The west are our enemy but our biggest enemy is ourselves. If this story is true I wont blame the west but ourselves.
  19. I hope and pray Somalia achieves permanent peace and stability.
