Somali men are completely in denial of their current situation and just wanna b!tch about other countries having something to do with their self created chaos vs admitting the chaos was created by them and must be fixed by them SOON!! 2. The Somali men’s only ambition is who can provide them free fishes vs. learning how to fish on their own. 3. Somali men do not know how to hold each other accountable or directly speak to on another for the seek of greater good The route of fixing any crises is to realize the source of the crises. And the way is see it, the source to the Somalis chaos is our men and until we hold these men accountable nothing is gone get fixed! You are right. These are factors feeding the existing situation. I think we have look beyond these factors and see the subtle elements in the socio-economic pattern of Somalis. Then, We may get a bit elaberative answer. Any way , Sipho, thanks alot, indeed.
  5. Now days the world media have started to talk about Somalia one way or another. The current issues in the world media , apart from lucrative piracy business , is catastrophic situation in Moqdisho that you see horifying pictures mainly wamon and children paying a heavy price of this failed state. is it a fate that make them to be in this sub-humane life or is it the effect of their actions? These are simple questions that a normal person asks him self. But, does the Somali particularly the diaspora communities think critically about their problems or they are in a state of denial and negligence? or does this silence is a sign of consent with what is happening at home? Or are diasporas victim of the western socail life, therefore they are fighting merely for their survival? If you want to see the social behavour of any society, look at the indiviadual behavour, cos that reflects the social structutres in place. Therefore, for me the deviant behavour of Somali individuals is not from a vacuum, it is line with the Somali weak social structures and harmful social norms. Nevetheless, this is true for all Somalis, where ever they are. One day one guy from our nighbouring countries , said to me unconscientiuosly, Somalis don't think critically what they do , they are just aesy going people as he said,. That day that word touch my inner sense, but when I look what is happening in all areas inhabited by the Somalis, then I realised there is some thing wrong with Somalis. Then, after wards, I started to think about the root cause of this problem , not the sympotoms such as confllict, tragedy and other man-made disasters, I know We are not bad in nature, but may be in need of rehabilitating or re-inovative social structure. Therefore, can we just exchange views, what went wrong in the Somalis. I don't want to bring here the divissive idea, rather inclusive and collcective issues, becouse, I don't see remarkable difference in the Somalis, let it be in Somalia, Kenya, Jabout or Somali Regio/Ogadn/Somali-galbeed. My dear SOL mates, if there is a sense of belongness to this impoverishing people in the horn, I think it is good to share our views, ideas and thought for this matter.
  6. Dabshidow, you are absolutely right for having that good dreams. But,these are some of the questions are roaring in my mind: when do you think that dream of having OGADN-state/Somali-galbeed will come in to existence? do you think that We are in the right path to reach there? What can we learn from Somalia for our goodness? To happen this good dream, What needs to be done? What options do we have to reach there, soverignity/ freedom? Otherwise, the target is perfect and excellent, but there is tactical deficeincy
  7. ^^^ Well writen response. It goes beyon the prematured ambition of this mad Kenyan lawyer.Keep it up.

Anyways, I don't see it happening, because somali's in puntland have a stable region and we will always look out for our bothersome kin in the south. Indeed the guardians of the somali republic have always resided in puntland. Sheekey ku nacay. If some oné's lion-ness is the puppet then what would be his stooges or treason? I think, Super, you are proud of up coming generation not this disgraced old generation. One thing, don't blame the Somalis in Kenya for their being politicaly sucessful for their own goodness, blame the failures.
  9. ^^^ Great. May be that guys want Arabic to be the working language. Not bad idea.
  10. I am a future reader and intrested to read Somali authors writen books like the famous authors such as NUURADIIN FAARAX and a like. Any one who have hint where to find, highly appreciated.

  12. A&T, a good story. But, I missed maxul-shaahidka. I mean the link between this tale and the social marriege system.
  13. The issue has to do with the individual choice and guiding principle. I see there is difference in perspective. If you look at the religouse perspective, then AALIYAh is perfect for her choice to stay at home and play a reproductive role or a housemadam. And this goes beyond the calculation of 'opportunity cost', if you have economic backgrounds. But, if you look at the perspective of westernisation , like IB, then its issue of decent life and to enjoy the fruits of this short life. Then, use the principle neo-clasical principles. Then, I am in favour of AALIYAHAs position for her religouse conciouseness. Ilaah ba reerka risiqisa kafaala qaadaye, weeye marka ay u xuntahay
  14. Business as usual in Somali Region.Lugbur was so naive to foreget the real power was not in his hands rather it was in the hands of Abay and his clerk TAWALDE. However, this is a good example of lack autonomy by the hand picked regional leadership.I hope, this plight of oppresion will make people in the Region to unite in order get out of this misery and attrocity.I pray for that.

That's 20th century mentality. Let's wake up and support the brothers and sisters in the entire country of Somalia ( no matter what region they are at ) who are fighting and working on kickcing this Ethiopians out of the country. Again, It should not matter what region they are from! P.S. I don't know if you are aware but Every region in Somalia is under the Ethioian occupation. Zack, bro, good advice but directed to the wrong person. I see mismatch between the message and the intended recepeint.Dhagahii ilaaahay waaniyaa waan saama bay Somali ku maahmaahdaa.

Asha deserves to be congurajulated for her courage to get out of this man dominated social life. But, I am not comfotable with the concept of 'affirmaive action' for woman by giving quota . I rather advocate gender main streaming concept where woman emanicipate by them selves not by the dominator.
  17. A food for thought for Faynus. Sister, it happens and its good to rise that issue. I kow Somalis, culturally are more informal than being formal, as some one termed 'open-space bureaucracy'. However, Somali woman can have a multiple roles in that aspect. on top of playing a complementery role for your husband, be influencial as well.It is not advisable to quit your prevouse role at all, but act also as a member of 'kitchen cabinet' or use the power of 'the bed' I mean the night manoeuvring type of activities. Then, both of you will be sucessful. but, the determental factor here is your spousal relationship and your capacity to utilise that relation.
  18. Juje, don't wory we can be in a different perspective. One observation from your comments: excessive pro PM. Think it in wider perspective, don't personalise politics, an advice for you.
  19. juje, you might be right, but We should not compromise the basic foundation of making sustainable peace in this failed state. I don't dis-agree external element in doing peace, but should play complementery rather than the driving force. I know, there is no perfect formulae, but we should not also depart far from the reality.
  20. Garhaye, saaxiib waa runtaa laakin ma waxaad fiaysaa ninkaas odayga ah ee la eryay inay dadkan dhibaataysan xal u tahay, eeg waxa soo scoda mid ka daran uun baa iman marka wax add loogu sii riyaaqo ma hayo, waa dameer iyo labadisi dhagod.
  21. Alamagan, you just touched the turning point. Haddii aysan jirin amminad, daljacayl iyo wadinyad sommaliyeed, ma filayo in dibada laga soo dhoofin karo. Let us to put the seeds then harvest whent it matures, other wise waa ha isla qabadaado, saaxib.
  22. In such complex situation, the religuos knowledgeable people should comment first. But, in my litle knowledge , I don't think Sh. Sharif dersrves to be tagged as 'murtad' and then, this shows there are invissible elements in the strugling powers. Waa hawl Somali oo khilaaf la'aan reerku ma joogi karo, marka ilaahay ha garansiyo sida khilaafka loo xaliyo iyada oo aan xabad la isticmaalin
  23. Does external callers bring change to this appalling political situation in the country? I doubt too, if this is different from lavish meeting held in abroad at the expense of dying women and children in the streets of Moqadisho and other cities.Somalis should solve their problems under a tree shadow with a traditional carpet-masali
