  1. ^^ One that he didn't know about before taking the job? Better confused than ignorant.
  2. ^^ It matters to anyone following Somali affairs, saaxib. If you keep on asking such pointless questions, the SOL kids may start a riot and complain about you (and Al Shabab) encroaching into their cyber territories. Dee naga daa.

  4. Originally posted by N.O.R.F: How ever much one wishes to sugar coat this, it's a classic case of 'nac nac baa la ii diiday' so I will make a nuisance of myself. Looking forward to Sharif's response. In other words, POLITICS. Love them or hate them saaxib, this is the only move that was open to PL. It's a game of high stakes and the first to blink here loses. As LST said, it is Sheikh Sharif that stands to lose in this game if he does not go out of his way to appease PL. Where SL is saying "we are not with you at all", PL is saying "we are with you but we reserve the right to run our own affairs". Politically speaking, this is a more beneficial position to take. In reality, of course, it is neither here nor there whilst that oaf, Faroole, runs that place.

  6. ^^ Check out Zonalmarking.com (exactly what I told you).
  7. ^^ With famous being the operative word of course. You're right, it fits Abu Mansour like a glove. Though it all comes tumbling down with this verse: تـعـيرنا أنـا قـليـل عـديـدنـا فقلـت لهـا إن الكرام قليل ومـا ضرنـا أنـا قـليل وجـارنـا عـزيز وجـار الأكثريـن ذليل Sheikh Sharif ayaa o daris, saaxib.
  8. ^^ Adigu gabadh baad tahay, waxaad doontid ayaad odhan karta. It's tasteless but it has always been a woman's weapon. I was directing my words to the girly men. As for me being a "Carab"..dee iska soco yanaan peasant ku odhan. (gabayga aan hoosta ku qoray cid kuu fisirta soo doon). Originally posted by Taleexi: Ngonge ... 10. The excited schadenfreude at the state of the old president reminds me of the saying "old soldiers never die, they just fade away". Now I don't want it to be known that I have suddenly gone soft and ditched my total belief in Clan being everything (which, as a result, should mean I must join in the ranks of those singing and cheering). No, I still strongly believe that, in Somali society, clan is indeed EVERYTHING. The messages from every last person on this thread is proof of this fact (yes, even Hunguri and the moderator he harangues. Even uncle-forsaking Maddeey). Yet, the reason I chose not to join in is to do with manliness, fairness and respect. AY stands alone as the most controversial Somali politician of the past twenty years. He outlasted all his equals (Siyaad, Aideed, etc) and left the political scene (though outmanoeuvred but) unbowed. For that, he deserves total respect (more from his foes than his friends). It is vulgar, coarse and downright common to take pot-shots at a fallen enemy. For no matter what this enemy's faults were, to act in this way, shows you up to be nothing but a wailing toothless crone who fires out curses due to her total helplessness and weakness. Yet, your fragile, elderly and weak enemy still stands tall and gets cursed by all manner of peasants who neither have the self-esteem nor the ability to express themsleves in a respectful and dignified way. It really is not healthy that grown men start an entire thread to talk about another man's looks (the women can do it all they like). I thought Somali men did not do that but maybe I was wrong. Maybe it is only my (sub)clan that didn't. Dee naga daaya.
  11. ^^ War sug sug.. Originally posted by N.O.R.F: He needs to get his tactics right for once. Lucas should play instead of Merieles. Cole shouldnt play either. 4 5 1 You finally saw the light? This takeover is not only improving Hodgson's outlook ileen. My job is half done. Next I'll have to convert piss taking Ayoub.
  12. They're baaaaaaaaaack!
  13. ^^ Been watching his press conference on LFC TV. Hodgson sounds like a changed man. None of that "lowring expectations" nonesense. He's bullish and talking about winning (even mentioned top of the league for once). Heh.
  14. Poor man, he already started the job with a handicap. If things ever go wrong for him (which they probably will as long as Al Shabab are around) that nickname is not going to do him many favours. I can already picture an Amin Amir cartoon. Anyway, good luck and all the best.
  15. ^^ Been watching nothing else other than the news for the past week (SKY SPORTS NEWS that is). New owners. The club is debt free. No interest payments to be made. Plenty of money to buy new players (from the club revenue alone). Happy days, mate, happy days.

N we wonder why Somalia is in mess. Now, now Che, what new game are you playing today? It is not as if (capital-letter-loving) Moonlight had got this question out of thin air, saaxib. People have been asking and expecting the PM to be from PL for a while now. There even have been discussions on this site about it. So the question is a reasonable one. Would you not agree?
  17. ^^ Dee maad tedhaahdid rules are there to be broken and leave it at that, saaxib. Why give me something to argue about? Anyway, I too prefer Ibnu Al Waleed (if for nothing else than his words at his death bed). However, according to the rules TH put there, I can't choose him (or my other favourite, Al Dhahir Baibars - for Cayn Jaloot alone). So, that leaves us with Eskandar Al Maqdooni (for land conquered, opponents, enviornment, logistics, etc, etc, etc). Some even argue that the man might have been Tho-al-qarneen nooh. Dee naga daaya.
  18. TH puts in rules but people ignore them and go doing their own thing.
  19. ^^ Not according to the rules set by TH above. Some guys called Alexander was not called 'great' for nothing. He wins this hands down if we follow your criteria.
  20. ^^ Such meetings are usually understood in the way you describe, Sayid. Or else, the Muslims will insist on four rakcas, the Jews will bring out their Torah's and start swaying and the others will start crossing themselves like a footballer who scored the winning goal in the world cup final. Dee naga daaya, this is a non story.
  21. ^^ How did the three faiths pray and what rules were applied to the prayer? Miya la iska hadla uun?
