Websites are a waste of time (the same job could be advertised over four different sites, and one position has about 300-600 applicants (this was before the recession, so probably more now), you are better off registering with four/five agencies and getting them to find something for you. I've never applied for a job in the usual manner, but the backdoor is wide enough if you know people in your field.
