Tomorrow’s asteroid near-miss is only a hint of what’s really out there Asteroid due to zoom past Earth could be worth £125 billion , space miners say, Scientists said the asteroid, known as DA-14, will fly very close to Earth on Friday 15th February 2013 Asteroid 2012 DA14 is likely to contain a variety of valuable resources including metals such as iron and nickel 2012 DA14 will linger in the so-called Earth/moon system for roughly 33 hours. At it nearest point, the asteroid will be over the eastern Indian Ocean, off the island of Sumatra. Asteroids this big get close to Earth about once every 40 years. Earth gets hit by asteroids this size about once every 1,200 years. Scientists believe there are approximately 500,000 near-Earth asteroids the size of 2012 DA14. Of those, less than 1 percent have been discovered. Travelling at between 12,427mph (20,000kph) and 18,641mph (30,000kph) - around five miles (8km) a second, or eight times the speed of a rifle bullet - the asteroid will fly inside the orbits of high geostationary satellites some 22,000 miles (35,406km) above the Earth. 2012 DA14 will pass inside the band of weather and communications satellites which orbit the Earth, some 22,200 miles above the planet's surface. At its closest point, the flyby will get as close as 17,150 miles above the Earth and constitute the closest approach for a known object of this size. Source: More than 10 sources. I thought Apophis was already unleashed on us!! Was he posting from space all these months?
  3. ^ So the American citizens in the UK pay income tax twice!! To the UK treasury and to the US IRS!! Is it a policy to stop Americans from emigragting from the US?

I doubt missiles are fast and effective enough to destroy an asteroid so close to the earth's surface. They could however be used in space when they gain high velocity and momentum.
  6. The tax will just be more money going into their pockets. What sort of tax do the American citizens pay while abroad? That is new to me!!

But really, "whorehood" or prostitution, is no less different to what these men below are doing. Everyone is using their body to make money. So every morning when you wake up, shower, put on fresh clothes and go to your office, factory (et al) job, look into the mirror one last time and repeat: I'm such a ho. FML!!. I will have to agree with you on that.

I'm articulate and classy. I'm not from New York. I'm looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a year. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a year is middle class in New York City , so I don't think I'm overreaching at all. Are there any guys who make 500K or more on this board? Any wives? Could you send me some tips? I dated a business man who makes average around 100 - 150. But that's where I seem to hit a roadblock. 150,000 won't get me to central park west. I know a woman in my yoga class who was married to an investment banker and lives in Tribeca, and she's not as pretty as I am, nor is she a great genius. So what is she doing right? How do I get to her level? Here are my questions specifically: - Where do you single rich men hang out? Give me specifics- bars, restaurants, gyms -What are you looking for in a mate? Be honest guys, you won't hurt my feelings -Is there an age range I should be targeting (I'm 25)? - Why are some of the women living lavish lifestyles on the upper east side so plain? I've seen really 'plain jane' boring types who have nothing to offer married to incredibly wealthy guys. I've seen drop dead gorgeous girls in singles bars in the east village. What's the story there? - Jobs I should look out for? Everyone knows - lawyer, investment banker, doctor. How much do those guys really make? And where do they hang out? Where do the hedge fund guys hang out? - How you decide marriage vs. just a girlfriend? I am looking for MARRIAGE ONLY Please hold your insults - I'm putting myself out there in an honest way. Most beautiful women are superficial; at least I'm being up front about it. I wouldn't be searching for these kind of guys if I wasn't able to match them - in looks, culture, sophistication, and keeping a nice home and hearth. -------------------- THE ANSWER Dear Pers-: I read your posting with great interest and have thought meaningfully about your dilemma. I offer the following analysis of your predicament. Firstly, I'm not wasting your time, I qualify as a guy who fits your bill; that is I make more than $500K per year. That said here's how I see it. Your offer, from the prospective of a guy like me, is plain and simple a crappy business deal. Here's why. Cutting through all the B.S., what you suggest is a simple trade: you bring your looks to the party and I bring my money. Fine, simple. But here's the rub, your looks will fade and my money will likely continue into perpetuity...in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won't be getting any more beautiful! So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset. Not only are you a depreciating asset, your depreciation accelerates! Let me explain, you're 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you! So in Wall Street terms, we would call you a trading position, not a buy and hold...hence the rub...marriage. It doesn't make good business sense to "buy you" (which is what you're asking) so I'd rather lease. In case you think I'm being cruel, I would say the following. If my money were to go away, so would you, so when your beauty fades I need an out. It's as simple as that. So a deal that makes sense is dating, not marriage. Separately, I was taught early in my career about efficient markets. So, I wonder why a girl as "articulate, classy and spectacularly beautiful" as you has been unable to find your sugar daddy. I find it hard tobelieve that if you are as gorgeous as you say you are that the $500K hasn't found you, if not only for a tryout. By the way, you could always find a way to make your own money and then we wouldn't need to have this difficult conversation. With all that said, I must say you're going about it the right way. Classic "pump and dump." I hope this is helpful, and if you want to enter into some sort of lease, let me know. So basically the sugar babies are like Hargeisa's street vendors of the delicious but seasonal cambecaad fruit. When the fruit's season is about to end, the fruits get increasingly more distorted and spoilt but nevertheless the vendors sell them at higher prices. You know you love to eat the fruits but then at those prices you would rather not buy them as a fresh harvest will be brought to the market in a year. Markaa dumarkana canbuhu wuu ka qudhmayaa adna lacagtaadu way kuu oolaysaa oo cambe kale ayaad ku iibsanaysaa.

Not everyone in our Somali community is as innocent as you Mr Haatu. Waxa ninka dhibaya waxa Morgan dhiba. He is probably one of those who had it so good but who fled without their shoes when the residents of Burco said enough is enough. Perpetrators of crimes like these should be brought to justice if the Somali people are to move on from those dark days.
  13. As soon as Somaliland gets recognition, they should promise to conduct a free and fair referendum among the unionist clans and let them go if they choose to. But before the referendum, Somaliland should give itself enough time to entice those clans to stay.

  16. Everyone is crying about the D-block's looted properties in Xamar. Those properties can be claimed back as Xamar gets better and more peaceful. Howeve,r what about the jewellery, furniture, foodstuff, cloths, and other household items looted from our wrecked homes in Somaliland by all the Somali m00ryaans south of our border? Even my pair of socks were not spared. We want our looted properties back. This issue should be part of the Somalia-Somaliland talks.

People who lost their loved ones in the genocide are of course angry, but I have never seen anyone in Somaliland who would agree with the massacre of any tribe because of what happened. I guess the people in Somaliland are more influenced by the values of their Islamic faith. In order to reconcile the Somali people, it is important to bring to justice all the war criminals living amongst us regardless of who they served or where and when their crimes took place.

Yes clan hatred was the result of decades long policies and politics but nothing can justify the blind massacre of entire civilian communities.
