Your comment borders on blaming the victim. Whether the women of Somaliland party all night or walk the streets at midnight is of no relevance because no one has the right to harass them let alone physically and sexually harm them whatever they do. Blaming the female victims for the sickness of some men is how those culturally backward Muslim societies embarked on their infamous journey into the dark ages.

Nuune there are so many ways aircraft safety can be jeopardised, but of course Somaliland does not want to be called a terrorist rouge state. If the international airliners are not confident that their safety is assured over an airspace they will not enter it. The problem now is how will Somaliland get what it demands without ruining its reputation?

  6. nuune;949662 wrote: ^^ Tallaabo, that would be good if Somaliland had the equipments necessary to handle/monitor airlines entering its airspace, in that case it can monitor its radar who enters/passes/lands and when and the bill is sent to the aircraft owner, no ban can hold without having proper system in place, just reminding you. It is very easy to obtain the equipment to jam the radio communication which is so vital to air safety. Without radio communications no airliner will enter our airspace.
  7. ^ Yes a few public executions of repeat offenders will do the trick and scare the hell out of the sickos:D
  8. Somaliland should also ban all international airliners from entering its airspace without paying the flyover fees directly to the Somaliland government.
  9. Xaaji your views could not be more wrong both according to the Somaliland law and facts on the ground. As a matter of fact the only thing that distinguishes the rights of citizens of Somaliland (and yes SP is not a legal citizen) and the other ethnic Somalis is the right to vote or be in the political system. Apart from the political rights, there is absolutely nothing Somalilanders can get in Somaliland which citizens of Puntland and other Somali regions can not get, be it unrestricted residency, free education, healthcare, jobs, business, property ownership, etc. Somaliland is not like the other nations of the world regarding its relationship with Somalia and Djibouti because our populations overlap so thoroughly which means basically the vast majority of Somalilanders including myself have close relatives if not immediate ones from all the regions of the Somali peninsula. That is a fact which every Somaliland politician is aware of and can do nothing about and as a result the only thing you will have a right to but the people you call "aliens" will not get is voting right. The other erroneous claim you made is your saying that the Somalis from Somalia pay more than the Somalilanders when entering Somaliland. I go to Somaliland every year for my holidays and I can tell you I pay a hell lot more fees than those folks with the Somalia passport. Moreover, those entering Somaliland by road, and indeed most southerners and OGs come through the borders, pay absolutely nothing. It is only those coming in by plane and perhaps by ship who pay fees.

  13. ^ No I had in mind how the Arabs collaborated with the British and the French agains the Ottomans during the first world war and as a result not only lost Palestine but were colonised and divided by those same western powers.

  22. You are right Che. Rape is a very serious crime according to our Islamic faith but our traditional elders belittle its seriousness and worse force the female rape victim to marry her tormentor. I don't know how long such sham marriage last but I am sure such an arrangement will only add salt to the wounds of the victim and unnecessarily prolong their misery. I believe it is time the Somalis end this bad practice and treat rape for what it is- a crime against society. Offenders should be named and shamed and given hefty punishments like ten or more years of jail terms to deter others and send a strong signal that sexual violence against women will not be tolerated.

Kulli waa Alpha oo kale and his BS of preserving dastuurka federaalka beelaha Somaliyed lagu kala qaybiyay. That is true. Indeed the Somali territories in the Horn of Africa with all its natural resources and fertile lands have the capacity to feed not only our mere under twenty million population but hundreds of millions of people. But as always the most important asset of a nation is its human resources and unfortunately that is the weakest link of the Somali nation (the ethnic nation).
