  2. It's only a matter of time now. I only wish the video had been released well before his destructive transit policies had been approved.
  3. Is there any cost incentive for a Somali buying those items? The quatity of items per package, seems rather small. Unless they're manufacturing in Somalia, I don't see ethnic protectionism helping them much.

Without their support, your reviews are essentially nothing. Survival of the fittest? You've already been eaten alive mate! lol Has anyone seen Machine Gun Preacher? Like Khayr said, we see another 'white protagonist' saving the day. I'm guessing you aren't aware of the myriad of movies based on the Holocaust. Which usually involve Jews being held against there will, forced in to labour, only to be rescued by several hundred thousand 'white protagonists' in 1944.

  6. I quickly went through the thread in question and counted 127 different postings of different cases, the charges in 43 of those cases were either murder or attempted murder. Would any of you still raise issues over privacy if the thread highlighted only the most serious cases? It would still be a fairly large thread.
  7. In addendum to your Golden Rules, may you forbid the usage of "lol" and other shorthands as well as the usage of emoticons? Their presence wouldn't be approriate considering the serious nature of this thread. Edit: I misread your post SP, I thought the Golden Rules were the Rules of Engagement for this thread. I retract the above paragraph. LOL

  9. I've seen discussion about racism in Israel for some time. This is made more jarring when you contrast it with the role that Jews played in the civil rights movement in the United States, although in some ways it was in their own best interest. Some in the Israeli far right go even further and consider Ethiopian Jews to be an alien group.
  10. What's wrong with gold diggers? He didn't exactly approach her for her personality. Also, it's Miami, where hot women and rich men have been hooking up with no strings attached for several decades.
  11. I've never been bothered by Somali women/ non-Somali men unions in the diaspora. You need only look in the Somali behind bars thread to understand that it's an adaptation to the shortage of eligible bachelors in the Somali diaspora. In the same vein, Somali men marrying outside the race is rather odd to me considering the selection that the lack of competition gives them.

  14. TORONTO — A Toronto man has been charged with uttering threats after the building that houses the office of Prime Minister Stephen Harper was evacuated hours before the throne speech. Mohamoud Jimale, 45, allegedly arrived at the Langevin Building in Ottawa on Wednesday morning and claimed he had a bomb inside his briefcase, according to the charge sheet. “Shortly after the incident happened the male was apprehended at the Langevin Building in relation to this,” said RCMP Cpl. Lucy Shorey, who said the threat was directed at a security guard. Source: National Post *sigh*

  16. Safferz;980223 wrote: What do you mean by that? Natalism and birth control/family planning are oppositional concepts. That said, you're making family planning sound like some sort of sterilization project, it's simply having the necessary knowledge and agency to make informed decisions about one's reproductive health, like when and how to conceive and when and how to use contraception or other birth control options like breastfeeding to avoid/delay or space out pregnancies. I meant to say population control rather than birth control. My problem is with those who wish to either enhance or mitigate population growth in Somalia with shallow policies rather than through long term economic and social development, the two must come together in order for the changes to be permanent. I consider maternal health to be a different matter altogether that is more immediate and needs to be addressed regardless of whether it's in the diaspora or Somalia. The future of Somalia's sovereignty will depend on it having a lean and well educated populace. Geography and climate will always insure that our neighboring countries, Ethiopia in particular, will always be several factors larger than ourselves. Why not capitalize on the already young population of Somalia? I'd rather not see Mogadishu look like Cairo in the future.
  17. Somali-Canadian arrested for allegedly beheading sons: Report A Somali-Canadian man has been arrested in the small Somali town of Beledweyne after allegedly beheading his four sons, The Canadian Press reports. Until a few months ago, Omar Hassan, 60, was a taxi driver in Calgary, his estranged wife told the news agency. Qadro Addawe said she didn't know of any possible motive for the killings. Beledweyne is located in south-central Somalia, about 330 km north of the capital Mogadishu. The foreign affairs department told QMI Agency it's aware of reports of a "possible consular case" in Somalia, "however consular officials have not received a request for assistance." Source Anyone know if there is any truth to this?
  18. If you look at the fertility rates of economically prosperous countries, you'll notice that not even a theocratic nations like Saudi Arabia can stop the negative correlation between development and the number of children a woman has. There's something unsettling to me about those who would advocate natalism or birth control to illiterate Somali women.

  20. Wadani;979572 wrote: Nin-Yaaban you seem like a cool guy, yet ur doing one of the most evil things a person can do in this world, which is to expose peoples ceeb publicly. Most people have done mistakes they regret and most people have skeletons in their closet they would never want anyone to find out about....just because these people got caught by the law doesn't mean u should parade their faces in front of the thousands of Somalis who visit this forum. Remember that Allah hates and exposes people who expose others. He's not exposing anything that wouldn't be uncovered with a quick Google search of someone's name. Also, quite a few of the people in this thread have been accused of serious crimes that I wouldn't call 'ceeb'.
  21. Nin-Yaaban;979564 wrote: What i have noticed about Canada is, they really go to great pains to appear civilized, mild-mannered polite people to the world. Canada does have crime, but it's just that they don't report it (even to their citizens) so they can keep up their appearance of being crime free society. With the U.S, at least what u see is what you get, and they don't pretend anything. And you also have the right to carry a gun for protection. You don't have that in Canada. Property and non-violent crime rates are similar in Canada and the United States, but violent crime rates, homicides in particular, have always been several factors higher in the United States. I agree with your point on self-protection though. I'm not likely to be involved in a violent incident in either countries so the prospect of being better able to protect your property is alluring.
  22. Safferz;979508 wrote: Huh? Canadian cities have some of the lowest crime rates for North American cities of comparable size, hardly "rampant crime," and the overall crime rate in Canada has been steadily on the decrease since the 1970s. We have low income neighbourhoods like Dixon, but nothing that remotely resembles a slum or even an American inner city. And what's wrong with Indians, Pakistanis and Jamaicans? Much of what you said is true, but I think it's arguable that Canada has by far the most violent Somali community in the west. Relative to our population there have been years where the Somali-Canadian homicide rate has reached as high as 24 per 100,000, which is much higher than Chicago's 16 per 100,000.
  23. What would make Canada even better is a new Dominion Lands Act, **** the greenies and their national parks! I want to settle down near the rockies.
