  1. <cite> @GaroweGal said:</cite> I like the fact you want a Somali guy first. May Allah swt give you all you desire and more. I see so many Somali girls constantly belittle Somali men and ONLY desire an Ajanabi . I know that from personal experience What disturbs me even more is when Somali girls belittle Somali men even in front of ajnaabis. It's downright humiliating and degrading. There's no need to justify her ajnaabi-love by belitting Somali men. I never in my life hear Arab women belittling Arab men in front of me, or Spanish women belittling Spanish men. Or Vietnamese women belittling Vietnamese men. So it disturbs me when I see Somali women doing this. If she wants an Ajnaabi, she can have one. She's an adult and no one has a gun to her head telling her who she can marry. And she doesn't need to "justify" her love of Ajnabi men by degrading an entire race of Somali men
  2. Tillamook, there are many Somalis who don't share his clan background, but who are STILL supportive of Afweyne and his disastrous policies. Afweyne poisoned Somalia and to this day the country hasn't recovered. They have a nostalgic view of the 1970's and 1980's as if Somalia was a modern-day Finland or Canada! That's just not true saaxib! There were Somalis dying of famine even then. There were Somalis fleeing to different countries in fear of political repression even then. Sure Siad Barre is far better than some of Somalia's most recent Presidents. BUT, I don't appreciate how Somalis are celebrating the end of democratic rule in October 1969 and it being replaced with a Marxist Authoritarian Regime. It was an all-around disaster for our country.
  3. I'm reading the CNN Article that the Canadian Authorities stopped this man from attempting to board a flight to Turkey and join ISIS. The question remains why wasn't this man imprisoned already?? Why was he allowed to roam free in Canada when he already attempted to join a terrorist group?
  4. <cite> @AbdiJohnson said:</cite> DoctorKenney, I rather have gay people being open than having suicide bombings and clan wars. I am, Abdi "Who wouldn't? " Johnson LOL Johnson Strangely enough, I agree with you there.
  5. Watch this short video saaxib, it goes into further detail and says it much more eloquently than I. Shaykh Yasir Qadhi is great here BTW Tallaabo; lying, cheating, stealing, committing adultery, committing murder, and other such crimes have existed as long as humanity existed. What kind of rationale is that to justify homosexual behavior? And also, we're not animals we are human beings. There's a different standard expected of us as human beings. Some animals kill the offspring of their rival males, so would that be okay if human beings do the same thing? In some insect populations, the female KILLS the male after she mates with him, and then she eats him up. So would that also be okay if human beings did the same thing? It's not a good argument Tallaabo.
  6. Let's just hope some Somalis don't start making homemade bootleg alcohol in their basements, just like what the Americans used to do during the Prohibition Era of the 1920's
  7. Tallaabo, I can easily find contradictory studies proving that homosexuality is not genetic at all. Scientists have not been able to identify the gay gene whatsoever. Either way, homosexuality is a disorder just like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It's an unfortunate condition which should require treatment, but it is in no way a "normal" and "acceptable" way of life.
  8. All over social media, Somalis are celebrating the 45th anniversary of Siad Barre's takeover of Somalia! Why would Somalis celebrate the events of October 1969, when President Sharmarke was assassinated and then we had the Marxist Dictator Siad Barre take over the country, leading to economic instability, political repression, and state violence against civilians? And his dictatorial rule directly led to the anarchy and inter-clan violence which plagued Somalia in the 1990's. This man was an all-around disaster for our country. He destroyed whatever institutions we had and Somalia still hasn't recovered from Siad Barre's disastrous policies. Sure, he may have done some good things in the past. But the way this man poisoned the country is absolutely unforgivable. And it shocks me why Somalis celebrate this man. It doesn't make any sense
  9. Read the article I shared Tallaabo, it goes into the issue in detail
  10. Yes Holac I've admitted that Paul Kagame centralized the power in Rwanda. In Rwanda, political freedom was sacrificed for the sake of economic freedom. I know Paul Kagame isn't perfect, but to see what he's done in his country is remarkable. The poverty rate was 75% just in 2000, and now it's dropped to about 50% today. That is REMARKABLE, in a span of 14 years he's managed to do that. And not only that, when you look at the World Measures on economic freedom, Rwanda is one of the freest economies in the world. It has a business-friendly atmosphere, as well as strong property rights and low corruption. It's what allowed the economy to grow so fast. His political rivals had more socialist tendencies, and wanted to rein in this economic freedom and centralize the economy of the country. If these political rivals managed to take control of Rwanda, then economic growth would be sacrificed and the economy would stagnate, as it always does when economic freedom is compromised. Saaxib, in my eyes: Economic freedom is far far far more important than political freedom. Paul Kagame is leading his country into prosperity, through his superior policies, so the lack of political freedom is unfortunate but when you're looking at the bigger picture it's not a big deal saaxib.
  11. That's not true. They're not 2 sides of the same coin; one act is acceptable as long as it's within the bounds of marriage, and the other act is completely unacceptable in all circumstances. There is no evidence that the "Gay Gene" exists, it's all speculation and homosexuality is not genetic at all. It's a learned behavior which should be condemned. But even if it was genetic, it wouldn't make a difference...Because glaucoma (a disease which can make you blind) is also genetic. So is obesity. And so is having heart problems, mental psychosis, paranoid schizophrenia, a propensity for alcoholism, even hair loss. ALL of these problems are genetic. Yet for some reason why are we trying to find cures and treatments for all of these issues, yet you want us to celebrate and promote homosexual behavior? It's a scientific fact that if your Father is an alcoholic, then that greatly increases the chances of you being an alcoholic as well, because of the alcoholism gene. Yet homosexual behavior, which is harmful to one's body, which is harmful to your health and your spirituality. Which goes against the very nature in which God created you....yeah, THAT should be promoted and accepted in society am I right Tallaabo? Look, I'm not here to barge into people's homes and see what they're doing. If they keep their deviant behavior within the privacy of their own bedrooms, then no one will know and nothing can be done. But as soon as they advertise their deviant behavior and start to have "Gay Pride Marches"....well then that's where we draw the line in the sane and say this is unacceptable.
  12. 10% ??? Tallaabo you are aware that this 10% figure has long ago been debunked as a myth. I'd be surprised if the number is even 3%. The Gay Community is a very vocal minority, so it seems like there's a lot of them, when there really isn't. Here in Atlanta though, there's plenty of them and I wouldn't be surprised if the figure was like 10% of the population. Saaxib, I've said it before, all humans have their own unique challenges to overcome. All of us have our own separate urges. I can't lie I've had a few urges towards some of the ladies in my classes, but that doesn't mean I should act on these urges! If I acted on these urges with these females, then I would be blameworthy. What I'm against is the celebration of homosexual behavior. Do we celebrate alcoholism, or cigarette smoking, or obesity, or any other problem which "cannot be controlled"? What's with this double-standard saaxib. There are no "gay people", they are just people who have homosexual urges. Stop defining people by their sexual urges; just call them people, and stop allowing yourself to view the world through their paradigm. You can have urges, but it doesn't mean you should act on them. What differentiates us from animals is our ability to have self-restraint
  13. <cite> @Holac said:</cite> Rwanda is a beautiful country, but the same issue that contributed to the infamous genocide still exist today. Tutsi control of the political and economic power of the country has doubled since the genocide and the country can descend into violence once again. The West is propping up Kigame as a savior but the Hutus feel marginalized and a Tutsi minority (15% of the total population) still controls the country. I'm not sure about that! Because Paul Kagame is fairly popular with the Hutus and the Tutsis, because of the high economic performance in the country and the political stability. There are some concerns when it comes to Kagame's centralization of power, but overall Rwanda appears to be a stable, fast-growing country. I would love to visit, I heard the Somali community there is quite large
  14. If it was up to Abdi Johnson, we would have homosexuals and shemales walking down the streets of Mogadishu and Bosaso. If it was up to him, we would have gay bars and shemales hooking up through newspapers and online ads. Warya, save your gay-rights agenda for Toronto or Montreal or Atlanta. We don't want this sick, deviant behavior to be promoted in Somalia
  15. http://mpisformarypatton.com/2014/05/20-reasons-you-should-live-in-rwanda/ I found this very interesting article which my friend sent me, and I just had to share. It's so inspiring how Rwanda managed to transform in a mere 20 years. It's clearly one of the best, and most livable countries in Africa. The President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, is doing an amazing job in running his country. Keep up the good work.
  16. Abdi, don't put words in my mouth. I've said that I agree with some, only some of what you originally posted. But the rest of your original post is a bunch of nonsense. But to discard Islamic sources of law as a source of jurisprudence is something I can never tolerate in Somalia. Banning FGM, rape, and clan discrimination is a no-brainer. But that has nothing to do with the topic.
  17. <cite> @xabad said:</cite> your argument is severely lacking dude. you haven't answered the basic argument of mine. which is why should i worship my creator in an another people's tongue, adopt their customs, clothes and go to their pilgrimages. i find it illogical and unreasonable that god would favour one nation of his over others. You don't have to adopt their culture, customs, or tongue at all. Another illogical argument. The Prophet was an Arab so it only made sense that Allah reveal the Quran to him in Arabic. He was the very last Prophet sent from God to humanity, in a long line of Prophets spanning thousands of years.
  18. <cite> @xabad said:</cite> @ Drk, how will they forsake their creator and be godless ? i told you before we had our own religion and way of communicating with our creator , we just need to rediscover it. mise your telling me the arab way i.e islam is the sole true way of communicating with the divine. i find that deeply racist and unacceptable. Amuus fadlan I've already addressed that argument in Holac's memorable thread: http://www.somaliaonline.com/community/topic/isis-insults-somali-people/page/2/ So for you to repeat this argument, when I've already refuted it just a month ago proves to me that you're not worthy having a discussion with. You don't listen, you don't reason, and you're full of anger and emotion. Either you don't pay attention to what I've previously written, or you may be unbelievably dim-witted.
  19. Tallaabo, we've already had this discussion in a previous thread. Either you're deliberately trolling or your memory is weak: http://www.somaliaonline.com/community/topic/child-marriage-in-islam/page/3/ And there are many separate articles addressing the marriage of Aisha: http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Polemics/aishah.html Read the above article. It's very useful and goes into the issue of Aisha's marriage in detail. It's been argued before, by Christian Missionaries in decades past, and the arguments have been soundly refuted in the past. But Tallaabo is playing into the hands of the Atheist troll Xabad and going along with him, instead of standing his ground. I'm very disappointed with him.
  20. <cite> @Tallaabo said:</cite> Only if Somalis could follow those ancient texts; all our intractable problems would disappear. I've said it before in the thread which Holac created like a month back, and I'll say it again: These so-called "Secularists" are the worst thing to have ever happened to our Muslim Ummah. All of this crime, degeneracy, lack of social mobility, economic stagnation, and global humiliation has come into existence under the rule of SECULAR Dictators (Saddam Hussein, Muammar Gaddafi, Hosni Mubarak, Siad Barre, Anwar Sadat, Gamal Abdel Nasser, Hasina of Bangladesh, Hafez Al Assad, etc.) Yet when we stuck close to our religion. When we stuck close to Islam and adopted the Islamic Way of Life in it's entirety, we had flourishing nations in Islamic Spain, in Damascus, in Cairo, in Baghdad, in Mogadishu. Put your trust in Allah, adopt His Shariah, adopt the Islamic Way of Life which has a crystal-clear record, and Allah will fulfill His Promise. Don't listen to these dim-wits who are dazzled by the success of the Western World and don't compromise on your principles. It's what got us into this mess in the first place.
  21. Xabad you're so full of it. You know, Islam is probably the single biggest reason why Somali society isn't worse than it already is. Just look at the utter degeneracy which exists in Southern Africa and then get back to me. You're completely deluded and you desperately wish for Somalis to forsake their Creator and live in a godless society. You've long ago past the point of rational debate. Now you're just whining and you just confessed that the only reason why you trash Islam on this forum is because of your inherent biases and your desire to see a Somalia without Islam. Islam has withstood the test of time, and there is nothing you can really do about it.
  22. <cite> @Tallaabo said:</cite> Do you mean you support the looting and subjugation of minorities as that is what Mr Abdijohnson is refering to? Or is your problem with the LGBT Somalis? I agreed with some of what Abdi Johnson said, but his insistence that Somalis shouldn't use the "ancient texts" (ie. The Quran and Sunnah) as a source of legal jurisprudence is something that really got under my skin. If Mr Johnson wants to live in a secular society then he should stay in Europe, but it's people like him who want to foist their standards of secularism onto the Muslim world. And they won't succeed in their objectives, inshaAllah
  23. And this is why I'm against foreign aid in the long-run. Somalia needs to be self-dependent, so we don't have to beg the Westerners for their aid, and compromise on our principles just for a few dollars. Disgraceful
  24. <cite> @galbeedi said:</cite> Xabadkan, ayaa waxiiba dhooqeeyey. This suppose to be internal debate among believers. This guy doesn't know where or when to comment. Is SOL attracting the deranged individuals who like to insult people of faith with no apparent reason. Ciidan do not debate with provocation of these guy, and please leave alone the Hindus. I completely agree bro. I told this Atheist to not address me, because he's repeatedly lied on this forum, he refuses to address my arguments, and he is self-contradictory and irrational. And he flies into a rage whenever we discuss anything remotely connected to Islam. This is what you expect from someone who chooses to disbelieve in his Creator. He's full of inconsistencies and he's unable to argue without sounding like a child. Xabad is a case study on what deranged thinking does to an individual.
