  1. Namely JL, SW, HS, and GM. In the last NCC leaders meeting, they all granted themselves an extension of a year to hold (s)elections, but nothing has been done as of yet. Could they be classified as functioning polities, or bona fide States on merit, and in their own rights? Do bear in mind, the function (power) of holding elections is a power for the FMSs, and not a Federal power. -------------------------------- This is a good analyses. 2. Major difference: The US under the aegis of former President J Carter had been managing the entire process from within in consultation with both sides of the conflict. You should read his memoirs, and others' in the region for a more complete picture of how the Ethiopian conflict unfolded, and diffused.
  3. Are you being serious? Any Somali could run for the highest office, he / she must work for it, build coalitions, cut through the nonsense, and show true leadership, as no one is going to give it up for free. If a serious contender from SL rises, he stands a far better chance of winning than most. My own civilian family members, natives of Hargeysa as far back as the 1800, had been killed by SNM, Gaas Dhagoole, and Calan Cas afterwards.
  4. Not so bad then, all things considered. On that same scale, how do you rate HSM?
  5. I have seen some of his speeches against the concerted ongoing genocidal campaign of Palestine, and on that alone, I can not bring myself to classify him as a "nacas". If anything, I would regard him a giant amongst equals with sound moral and ethical standing. Are you familiar with "cisal walhis laba baarqab" ?
  6. Was Farmaajo any good when he was in Villa Xamar? I must admit I was paying no attention to Somali politics during her term. I keep hearing about N&N, what is that?
  7. She is merely coasting by the names of her late father (a good man who came well before his time), and husband (former Sr military officer). Nothing more. I could say more about her dreadful public record when she was made Foreign Minister, but enough of her. More than hearsay, as the gentleman involved shared the facts of the case in person (not that everything he says is the sole truth without hearing her version).
  8. Good luck to her. With seed monies she had stolen, and eventually got robbed more than once in Hargeysa.I usually do not like to speak ill of Somali ladies, but will make an exception this one time. She'll only serve herself.
  9. Todd Schoenberg Lawyer & Law Firm Boston btselem.org @ToddSchoenberg The International Criminal Court in the Netherlands has accepted a case file from Khatumo authorities, who have turned over war criminals. The Leader, Abdulkadir Ahmed Awcali, has indicated that the names of the criminals will be publicized. This move reflects the Khatumo authorities' dedication to pursuing justice for the horrors done in their region. The community will eagerly watch the proceedings at the criminal court to ensure justice is delivered. While many local citizens applauded this news, the majority wanted justice to be administered in Lasanod, where the criminals committed their crimes. If the ICJ finds them guilty in Europe, they ICJ don't endorse the death penalty. For these top-ranking militiamen, living in Europe's jail is more luxurious than the harsh conditions in Somalia. Facing justice in an international court sends a clear message that no one is above the law, no matter where they hide. It is a beacon of hope for the victims and their families, who have long desired justice and accountability for the horrible crimes done against the resident of Las Anod. https://twitter.com/ToddSchoenberg/status/1763231024849276958?s=20
  10. I usually find Amin Amir rather predictable, but must say he is more right than not in these instances.
  11. Well done to SSC - Khatumo. A great deal of difference between naturally born Admins vs IV forced ones. By all means, fight, but ask yourself: with whom? And for what causes? Definitely not fight your kin & kith. And must ONLY fight for the right causes. Borrow a page or two from our forefathers, who started on the tip of the Horn expanding all the way to the Tana river, Bale mountains, and deep into the heart of native African territories. Instead, you are working backwards, giving away prime lands, and targeting your own. Think man!
  12. He is a decent man, but in the wrong position, naive in the cut-throat politics, inexperienced with a rogue mentor, and trusting to a fault in bad company.
  13. It is a good move to have reer Galdogob take the Treasury, and Qoorsheel & ina Bisinle return to local politics. --------------------------------------- Cabinet listing: 1. 14. Would not the right and rational thinking be not to even attempt, and live in harmony, and instead use all the meagre resources for meaningful projects i.e. infrastructure, schools, hospitals, educating the young, looking after the elderly etc?
  15. Maya walaal, I was referring to the former MP. Dahable was definitely assassinated, pending confirmation of course. Come now, I ain't no amateur.
  16. True, even the ones in SL politics are lala har weaklings, the likes of Cadaani, ina Sulub etc, fit only for the purpose of serving Bixiye.
  17. I promise you if he attempts a war, he will be arrested in villa Morgan this time ala Saddam Xuseen sheltering in a hole with sheep. SSC is fully weaponised, and geared to the finish line, as they now have the best armed, structured forces in the whole of Somali peninsula.
  18. No, they have not, I think you might be unfamiliar with the back story. They have sacrificed, and lost everything, more than any other group, both in human capital and wherewithal for the SNM struggle, and are now paying a hefty price. What is left of their elite are scattered all over, I think I have seen more of their elite in Xamar than in any city in SL. Sadly instead of their inheriting fruits of their labour post the collapse of government, HA, who had been conspiring with the Kacaan till the last days, never fired a bullet in their sodding lives have assumed power, and instead of receving "raggii kaadida u soo cabay" with grace, they slaughtered them to oblivion. That bastard ina Cigaal & his patsies HJ. That is what you are seeing now. The likes of Oodweyne would never admit to that in public, for they are true nomads, very proud people. But XX would never acknowledge that in a million years boring the neighbourhood to death about nonexistent nonsense. With their being the largest clan, I think more than the rest put together, spread from Bari to Galbeed, yet are now a minority in every city they once were the majority from Hargeysa to Berbera to Burco, and even Ceerigaabo. I think Oodweyne is the only place left now, and it is isolated. Go figure!
  19. Not as bad as the other gentleman, who was said to have been chewing khat all night, popping viagra, the local version, which I hear is deadly, and was having a night long session with a lady of the night succumbing to a triple shock to the heart. Yes, sadly corruption and nepotism are rife in the whole country. In some aspects, it is worse in SL, for example I have relatives in Berbera, who share horror stories about what goes on in the city, not to mention how GXJS have been completely rooted out of State institutions from janitorial to directorship, barring some stooges, and how they are now guests in Hargeysa, their own city. Imagine that!
  20. It is being propped up by the West on one hand, for Habasha is one of the three cradles of Christian Orthodox, and Saudi/UAE amalgamation on the other to protect their investments in the billions. Have you seen Adis of late, and the farm lands?
  21. Indeed he is a whopping munaafaq of grade A class, and I recall what he used to say when removed as the PM. I can not wait for the day when one of them is hauled in front of Hague ala Charles Taylor. The poor lady is out of her depth, is wrong, overstepping her powers, and MUST not be abusing the powers of her office. Under the Federal Constitution, FMSs are granted some control over their airspace, albeit it falls under the 4th Power granted to the Federal Authority, as an Exclusive Power with certain limitations. Again, this is not to discount the illegal 'air piracy' acts SL is engaging in. As costly and inconvenient as it is, if airlines are instructed to fly through Xamar, they will have to do so, however it is an substantiated requirement, which any Judge would throw out, had there been functioning Courts.
  22. All airlines would heed in a 24 hour notice as and when the Somali Federal government, which is the ONLY authority on Somali airspace, issues an announcement to that effect. See, there are laws, rules and regulations which nations of the world follow.
  23. See, simple technology could be used to improve flight safety and security, and prevent criminal acts, without resorting to tyrannical acts. Still, a mutually agreeable resolution where such 'cisal walhis' does not occur must be found. ------------------------ The introduction of this new communication system aims to address the challenges faced by aircraft flying over Somalia, enhancing efficiency and safety measures. Meanwhile, Somalia clarified that the satellite phone communication system is solely employed for flights within Somaliland's airspace. The country mentioned it operates three communication systems for aircraft: VHF, satellite phone, and an internet-based device for message exchange. The VHF radio has been removed from service.
