Rich from you since you support Siilaanyo, he ruined what you build in 20 years in 2. You won't believe the awkwardness at Somaliland parties today. @Oba hiloowlow I am talking about your leaders, Indhacade, Cismaan Caato, Muuse Suudi, Qanyare, Bootaan Ciise, Omar Finish, Ina Aideed, from 1991 to 2004 those men were the head of the country, so why should I as a Puntlander not say that indeed the ones in the south are the reason why Somalia never had peace, something you sarcastically tried to put across in your previous post. Faroole has every right to speak and should speak. Spoilers were the ones who said "we reject the constitution outright", they hadn't even read it, they never raised a concern, just said "dastuur waa diidney" as they used to say "dowlad waa diidney" and wanting back to their old habitat of moryaanimo. Here you have Faroole rejecting articles after he actually read it, he actually understood what it meant, do you believe Indhacade read the constitution? And after Faroole rejected the articles the new angle by the spoilers is 'why is Faroole rejecting it?' war maxaa kaa galay niyahow DANTAADA FIIRSO, waa cajiib wallahi.
  2. I didn't troll, I merely portrayed how the rest of the world views south Somalia and how you ruined peace time and time again, dragging down the name Somalia countless times. Don't lecture me as a person from Puntland with anything regarding peace whether it is in a sarcastic form or not.
  3. History refreshed. 1991-1995, internal moryaan violence. 1995-2004, moryaan warlords roaming the streets of South Somalia. 2004-present, TFG (current government) and Somalia held back by moryaanimo in the form of a mindset similar to that of Drug dealer indhacade.. And then when Faroole speaks out which he should have, AFTER reading the article and rejecting articles but not the constitution, bear in mind, AFTER reading it, he's wrong. I wonder why the ones who didn't read it, say moryaan politicians including Indhacade were not spoilers.

  6. How come this year has been the worst, I mean I've known these parties to get very 'happy' but this 18th was such a debbie downer, I only saw 1 woman with a Somaliland flag and even she didn't look happy. Is 2012 the worst year in SL history?

  8. Haatu;831546 wrote: Abtigiis, Xiin's problem is as you said. A while ago when the former warlords were making all the noise in Xamar, he called them spoilers and kept reiterating that the constitution will get passed no matter what they say. But as soon as Faroole starts to go against the constitution and in effect becomes a "spoiler", Xiin refuses to label him as such and busies himself with the preparation of excuses for Faroole's next blunder. For some, clan is indeed everything. Faroole rejected articles in the constitution, he never rejected the constitution outright which the spoilers did, an action they took by the way without even reading it. The two are not comparable. The Puntland government stated that this article violated the federal system and requested this article be removed until member states negotiate on the issue of natural resources. Officials in Puntland say before a constitution could be signed articles like these need to be clarified. Another article in question was the Number of People's Assembly article 88: “A specific law shall define the procedure to come up with the final number of members of the People’s Assembly.” This article breaks the previous agreements signed in Garowe and Mogadishu which sets the number of the People's Assembly, also called the Lower House, to 225 MPs. In the Somalia draft constitution paragraph 2, in article 113 says, that a presidential candidate must relinquish his foreign nationality prior to standing election. Over 20 years of civil war in Somalia has forced many Somalis to flee their native land and live as Diaspora. Analysts say that a large amount of Diaspora are involved in Somali politics and hold key positions. The Puntland government requested the removal of that paragraph. http://www.garoweonline.com/artman2/publish/Somalia_27/Confusing_articles_in_Somalia_draft_constitution.shtml
  9. ^^ Very good and credible news story you have there.
  10. Was I trying to be funny, it wasn't even a joke, you are the one who made the joke and it didn't even make sense since it can't be attributed to me. Che, why don't you go ahead and explain to us, in simple terms so our brains will understand, what is the difference between it being held in Addis Ababa to it being held in Nairobi? Mogadishu isn't a neutral ground according to any of the stakeholders since they left without a whisper.
  11. The constitutional draft violated the Garowe Principles and he has a right to speak out. His word falls into the ear of UN Envoy Mahiga, not Zenawi, the reason why it's in Addis Ababa is because Addis Ababa is the AU headquarters and center for many international organizations including IGAD as well as the hub for Somalis to meet. There would have been no difference if it was held in Kenya. I think the difference here is that people are getting emotional about Ethiopia. As for Puntland's leaders, we could not have picked stronger ones, one must understand why people from the south favoured men like Jama Ali Jama. If you guys had an ounce of what Puntland has you'd not be crying, but you'd all be achieving as much in the political arena. I already posted about this but there was a moment last week where Faroole spoke out against the constitution due to some articles that weren't clarified and the funny thing was, people who already had opposition to it didn't look at the constitutional draft from their prospective, but rather said 'why, why is Faroole against it, what is he gaining?' and to that I say no wonder you are in the hole you are in.
  12. He's going to Turkey, not the conference.
  13. It's such a childish mindset I don't know how to deal with it. I mean this is what I am dealing with in the 21st century, you claim to be from Laascaanood, well I be damned. Federalism was never Zenawi's idea. The other stakeholder's tried to screw over federalism, you think that's gonna happen? And it wasn't Zenawi who called the meeting, it was the UN guided by Faroole. And as he once said, nothing can happen in Somalia without Puntland's blessing. Ride my tail baan ku iri, your mindset makes me truly sad.
  14. Sovereignty is what you see as territorial integrity and political sovereignty, but before 2006, foreign powers didn't have much to do with Somalia, there were CIA financed warlords and Ethiopian backed ones, just like countries around the world support people. Doing Siad Barre's time he was supported by either the US or the Soviets so what I am saying is, what lack of sovereignty are you talking about, since when did Somalis have sovereignty going back from the colonial times? Get with the programme, ride my Puntland tail, I will take you into the 21st century.
  15. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. So during the 21 years of civil war when there was no intervention, did we have stability? Pre 2006.
  16. Faroole knows that Zenawi will be the only one other than himself that can make things happen. This isn't about sovereignty, this is about stability and it looks like only Puntland wants it. Why would the TFG go outside the Garowe Principles? Sheikh Shariif is looking for nothing but trouble. Good for Puntland, go ahead Faroole.
  17. @Xaaji, how is Faroole responsible for the inability of sub clans to unite with one another and create a viable state. It's only 2 regions, not 2 and a half, 2 region or more to create a federal state. It's going to be Puntland, Galmudug, Shabeelooyinka, Jubbooyinka, Baykool (the last two can change a bit) etc, this will look very good.
  18. BBC NEWS A military court in Hargeisa, the capital of the self-proclaimed Somaliland, has sentenced 17 civilians to death for attacking a military base. The death penalties were handed down the day after the attack in which seven people were killed, a Somaliland official told the BBC. An armed group carried out the attack, claiming the military had built on land that they had owned for generations. Somaliland has escaped much of the violence that plagues Somalia. Swift case A group of almost 30 armed civilians belonging to the same clan attacked soldiers in the camp on Tuesday, leading to a firefight in which three soldiers were killed, Somaliland's Defence Minister Ahmed Haji Ali told the BBC's Somali service. After being arrested, 28 people were held overnight - and the military trial held the following day. Five minors were also given life sentences, after seven people - including three soldiers - were killed, a Somaliland official told the BBC. Three people were acquitted, and the trial of three others postponed because they had been injured during the fighting. The civilians had confessed and an attack on Somaliland's military carries a mandatory death penalty for adults, the chairman of the military court, Yusuf Farah, told the BBC. The BBC's Mohamed Mohamed says activists in Somaliland are likely to raise questions about the swiftness of the case - and whether the civilians had been properly represented. If the death penalties are carried out, there could be a backlash from other members of the clan involved and they may even resort to violence, our correspondent says. Land disputes are common and often complex in Somaliland, he adds. Somaliland unilaterally declared independence in 1991 after the overthrow of Somali military dictator Siad Barre. It is relatively stable and holds regular elections, which have seen peaceful transfers of power. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-18101584
  19. A military court in Hargeisa, the capital of Somalia’s breakaway region of Somaliland, has sentenced 17 civilians to death for attacking an army base over a land dispute. An armed group of almost 30 civilians belonging to the same clan attacked soldiers at the camp on Tuesday, claiming the army had built on land they had owned for generations. A firefight ensued, during which three soldiers were killed, Somaliland’s Defence Minister Ahmed Haji Ali told the BBC’s Somali Service. Twenty-eight people were arrested and held overnight, and the military trial was held the following day. An attack on Somaliland’s military carries a mandatory death sentence for adults, the military court’s chairman told the BBC. The court convicted the 17 on Wednesday, saying the defendants had confessed to the attack. Riot police dispersed dozens of people who marched through Hargeisa’s streets on Thursday demanding their release, the Associated Press reports. Suldan Yusuf Muhumad, a clan elder representing the defendants, told the Voice of America that the court’s decision was made so quickly it did not allow justice to take its due course. A former British colony, Somaliland broke away from Somalia and declared independence in 1991 when the country’s central government in Mogadishu collapsed. It is far more stable than the southern and central regions and holds regular elections, though the international community does not recognize its independence.

  21. Sheikh Shariif tried to get rid of federalism under everyone's nose, he violated both Garowe Principles and is now being told in New York to back off. Faroole stepped in and told them what's up and they are all summoned to Addis Ababa by their lord. It's not in Faroole's interest that it'd be held in Addis Ababa more or less than the rest. And this decentralized stuff, no one is buying it, lay off.

The day when Xaaji Xunjuf is saying congratulations while possibly scratching his eyes out is a good day but you, a typical secessionist mentality, get the hell out of this thread.
