  1. Am I the only who is noticing the controversy ..... Baarqab Qooqay iyo posting Quran links.....Marka hore soo qooq dhacso inaar...Ilaahay khayr ha ku siiyee or change the name...Thank you for posting Quran in this place, waa looga baahnaa.
  2. its very simple....We all commit sins , Hadii Ilaahay na asturo we should keep our mouths shut...... Someone should slap this Black dude back to reality.

Dee inaar Halkaa ha i sii gaadhsiin, I just believe in peaceful coexistence till there is strong Somali Administrations! to lobby for the Somali Region Agenda....and I don't think the time is here yet. ..Danta shacabka ayuun baan labadeenuba ka shaqaynaa ee ninba dhinac buu ka eegayaa

  5. Che -Guevara;944891 wrote: ^Seriously you would refer conflict zone as black holes..... They are not Conflict Zones ... They just missed how to play their cards well, I don't want to get the specifics of the situation, but let us say it doesn't need a Confucius to realize the Somali region will be part of Ethiopia for a long long long time, The people have accepted that fact, but few mercenaries (who call them selves mujahidiin) are wrecking havoc in the region... My point They are black holes, other zones are flourishing , and if you are going to blame someone for the demise of Somali area , blame the Somalis themselves....
  6. There is more to kililka 5aad than the black holes of Wardheer, Qoraxeey dhagax buur etc....There are places developing with ultra speed and you hardly encounter any of the liyuu police bandits.. Try to go West of Jigjiga to Awbare , Wajaale then further west to Shiniile region and pay visit finally to Dire Dawa Zone of Ethiopia...All inhabited by Somalis and save , the landscape is breath taking, people are nice, Somali culture is highly preserved, livestock is abundant....I am speaking from personal experience... If you are going East of Jigjiga then I recommend you have "Waasda" or some mediator from the Kililka 5aad administration, preferably someone in upper positions. that is your best shot.....Try to play the Tolnimo card, I am sure you will find someone from your subclan as Kilil 5 is buffer for most of the Somali clans.....personally my biggest safety margin is getting to people in upper postions before I step in Jigjiga , fortunately I got friends and cousins in high positions... Finally while you are there, jigjiga is only 60 KM away from Somaliland, you might just take the opportunity and visit Somaliland .... You don't have to worry about security there. By the way I always thought you are XY rather than XX...your posts gave the impression of masculinity ..no offense meant.
  7. is Gannad a Metaphor to your name or is it the actual Gannad ....... That neighborhood is teeming with young minds, actually its where I have spent a considerable amount of my life (lots of beautiful and dusty memories) --Although imnka meeshu dhisantay oo is badashay, in my last visit I could hardly recognize it anymore... Good initiative Alpha, Libraries are positive and encouraging signs of developing nations...in the totem pole of development , Education is the first block. You will find obstacles ,starting from the ministry of education to the public....So keep your stance, and make this dream true. ,.....Don't you think for starters 6 jobs is too much for the budget, may be one librarian (from 8.30 am - 4.30 pm, preferably a young female) and one security (at night specially and preferably neighbor of the library) would suite the budget at first,,,,,,Just a thought.

  9. Classic Soomaali Gaalnimo.....Waa Gaalnimadii Shilimaanta. you will see her after a while claiming, Ehlu kitaab baan u diga rogtay oon ka diga rogtay... Allaha soo hanuunsho
  10. in Islamic countries Being off on Friday-saturday is more feasible....I have lived that first hand and I enjoyed much more than Thursday-Friday... If Somalia follows, Will this make the Maahmaah "Sabti ulo badan" outdated
  11. I quote Nuraddin Farah from interview with prof. Ahmed Ismail Samatar on Bildhaan Magazine...When asked about who to blame for the demise of Somalia he replied: "The one thing that disturbs me, keeps me awake, gives me nightmares, is this falsehood we tell ourselves all the time: denying that we had anything to do with it; denying, for instance, that somebody who was a Prime Minister of the country for years, together with Siyaad Barre, had no involvement, or a Minister of Education declaring a little later, “No, I had nothing to do with it.” I, who have never worked for the state of Somalia, except as a small, lowly typist earlier in my life and a few years of teaching at the University, am willing to say that I, too, am an accomplice in the ruin of Somalia. "Nuraddin Farah"" ~Even I coofle who was a mere Kid in the Siyaad Barre era, is ready to take part of the blame... Nuraddin is a heavy weight philosopher and thinker, unfortunately he came in the wrong time to the wrong people!

Being So used to the NHS ma is tidhi? ................ Sometimes third world countries have better and more reliable healthcare. This doesn't include sub-saharan Africa and specifically Somalia where there is no any mentionable form of Health insurance, even if you are ready to pay millions no healthcare. Healthcare insurance scheme is costly but worth it.

  14. Personally I believe the rightful owner would be Abwaan Xergeeye , it was when his brothers denied him the dhaxal .............At least the first time I heard the gabay it was reffered to Xergeeye
  15. SP nice read sxb, you won't regret it....The language is superb and the book is emotional, for a moment it made me develop blind and sentimental hatred against our neighbors the Ethiopians

  17. I don't Think Sayidka owns this gabay,,,,I just heard that recently, At least other 3 fledged poets claimed this poem.....I think it was like Some Traditional song and people thought it belonged to sayid maxamed.

Nice thinking...it makes some sense.. But "Qayrkeedna dhaafi" means "Faceedana dhaafi"....Make her surpass her peers . Qayrkaa is a originally arabic and Somalis use it to mean your peers but the correct somali word is "Facaaga" ... In my region, Old senior Somalis pray to youngsters by saying "Waynaw oo waraabe duq ah dabada jiidjiid"!!!...Guess what it means.

Although Cyber reading is not equivalent to reading a book while sitting under gob tree, leaning your back to the stem and drinking shaax from koob farasle ah....I would recommend you hit the nearest Somali Bookstore and get them , if that is not possible there is a terrible low quality copies in the link below. http://www.indiana.edu/~librcsd/nt/db.cgi?db=somalia&do=search_results&sb=allfield&allfield=&type=zzzzz
  21. "Hablayahaw Hadmaad Guursan Doontaan" is a classic somali play (and my 2nd favorite after Shabeel naagood) and simply depicts the cultural status of that time in-which morals where at the dumpster. on contrary to recent entertainment (Movies either Arabic, Hollywood or Bollywood) Somali plays of 80s are considered "conservative". The commotion in this thread is similar to the screaming and porous face covering of a shy nubile...Adeer Enjoy....
  22. There is another Book Written by the same author Faarax Cawl in the late 80s "Dhibbanaha aan dhalan" Great book.... Also the classic Somali Novel.....The pride and Prejudice of Somali literature "Ayaan-daran" is another good read.
  23. FGM is barbaric and primitive....our forefathers have been ignorant, the new generation should fight FGM....and nothing is taboo about saying NO to wrong.....I am highly optimistic about the results...
