The Somali parliamentarians asked for the 'misaaniyad' and the finance minister appeared before them and said the budget for the coming year is 60 million (muqdisho port makes more than that). Needless to say, the parliament was not having it and after much commotions and customary shouting and pushing, the minister went back to books and mysteriously discovered 30 million laying about. You would be happy to know Somaliland's budget for that same year was 130 million more apparently more than the motherland.

Dalmar1;988151 wrote: @Gar_maqaate and classified , ignore these Cuqdaad filled folks, Wallahi its hard to debate with them let even talk with them, they are filled with Cuqdaad that emotion has truly blinded them from interaction at all levels! Ask them what's 1+1= and they say South, Walewyne, south, waleyne and round they GO, they are a parrot that only learned two words, pathetic right:( Dalmar, I think, I can safely say that all of us Somalis, are filled with tribal prejudices fueled by ignorance and superstition. Again I can pretty much say with all certainty that if you, burahadeer or Xaaji were to traded places through the accident of birth, you too would hold the same 'illogical' secessionist views and they would be badgering you on the virtues of Somali unity. Although, we al think of ourselves as individuals and free thinkers, the truth is we all hold some pre-determined clannish views, parallel historical facts and false sense of superiority. The only difference is that of some us are able defend their pre-determined clannish views without any apparent Cognitive dissonance. But that is only due to a default, because if the majority of your 'community' is pro Somalia, the chance are you to will be pro unity and it is then easy to reconcile your tribalism with your Somali rhetoric. However, that is not luxury afforded to folks of Somaliland because they have created a unique situation where they have made their clan into a nationality. This has created a double whammy for them, firstly, the clan and their supposed nationality have become interchangeable, any attack on Somaliland is taken not as an attack their country but also as an attack on the clan (and in most cases their paranoia is justified), which must be repelled. Secondly, because the tribal aspirations Somaliland are so conspicuously obvious, it is impossible to defend it with any intellectual honest, especially when countered with convenient Somali unity rhetoric. And this is why the folks in here often rant and rave to deflect and to conflate debates. To conclude the only reason why Dalmar or sayXaaji have different views has nothing their reasoning, on the most, but everything to with accident of birth.

I see recognition on way Sxb enough with the hot rhetoric and bravados. 97 per cent of Somaliland's budget last year was apparently spent on 'reoccurring' costs, mere, 8 million was set aside for development and that disappeared within the first six months. So please spare me the nonsense kiddo!

Brother Aid is Aid and begging and relying on hand outs is undignified. I am not having a go at Somaliland per se, what I am saying is that we should all strive to be self-sufficient.
  6. lol Homunculus, wallahi, when ever see a Somali politician of any political stripes returning from a trip abroad and i hear them speak, I am often left feeling sick and bemused at the same. wallahi socdaalkayagii guul buu kuso dhamaaday. faransiisku kiish baris ah buu noo balanqaday, ingiriisku shuub sonkor ah, EUduna kiish daqiiq ah. hada saliidii ba inaga dhimin uun. And if the incessant begging was not bad enough, they now think the aid money is literally owed to them. They even present the donors with actually contracts like the clowns above (notice how contracts have Somaliland emblem). Furthermore, they still have the gull to wright s'hit like 'Madaxweynaha Somaliland iyo Labada Safiir oo kala Sexeexday heshiis ku saabsan Mucaawi'. That is like me signing on at the job Centre and brandishing my jobseeker's agreement as a piece of bilateral agreement with UK government.

  8. ^^^ I see two beggars!, Don't tell me you haven't noticed the common denominator?.
  9. burahadeer;988132 wrote: when did they crumble? why worry about Somaliland when unity & brotherhood won't be attained inside Somalia(south) probably for long time to come as it seems! I have noticed when ever some comments on Somaliland, you always respond with the question(s), 'what is it you,why does it concern you and why worry about/?. which bring me to a question of my own, maxaa ka galay ma doodbaa?

  11. Somalia's political process stumbled backwards when the incompetent and myopic Hassan Mahmoud was elected president (through negative voting) and he executed the entire process point blank by nominating a buffoon for prime minister. Even by Somali standard those two a*rse holes have been an unmitigated disaster. Those two fcukers couldn't organize a funeral between them let alone run a state. Apart from a miracle the next three years are wright off, lets hope we get to next election cycle with any catastrophes.

  13. Apparently this Somalia's delegation to EU, which consists of a inexperienced old lady (carrying government paperwork by hand), an adolescent teenage girl and three briefcase carriers on sightseeing trip. What a depressing sight!
  14. ^^^ I agree, but you also have to understand the reasons for this blind loyalty. Their natural affinity and sense of connection with Britain (particularly the English) is the primary reason behind their defense of the Union. Scottish independence will greatly diminish the power, prestige and influence of this perceived naturally ally. thus, their support of the British Union is driven by the same primal impulses that drive their support for Somaliland. I believe that is the reason for these simultaneously held incongruous beliefs

  16. ^^ I don't know if you noticed but all of the overzealous Somali secessionist in this thread are ardent supporters of the British Union. These folks are either irony impaired or this is an ingenious piece of satire. It is absurd but hilarious.

What reputable international oil companies is going invest in a unrecognized enclave in the middle of unstable region. Do you even understand how FDI works, how companies invest their money?. Because you seem to think oil explorations are like drilling for a water well in a village.
  19. Xaaji Xunjuf;987783 wrote: theyre better off within the kingdom . lol Not according to Scottish National Party. According to them every, man, woman and child in Scotland would be 600 pounds better every year in an independent Scotland. Plus they would get better state pensions, childcare and free university education. And unlike 'Somaliland' and Somalia, Scotland and England actually have distinct culturally, historically and national differences.
  20. AUN, but the sad part for him is that his passing is ignored in his own region. Speaks volumes about his standing amongst his people.
  21. ^^^ Dude the whole of Somalia is a basket case and one giant aid project.
  22. These are not legitimate Oil Companies. they are fraudulent shell companies run by speculators, who are hedging bets on the existence of oil in the region.
