  1. I don't agree with her American exceptionalism nonsense and I am sure many Africans would be offended by her misguided statement about USA being the best place to be black.
  2. It was a big mistake for the president to take side on this sad conflict. I guess the Arab financiers of his Damuljadiid political part was going to cut him off if he didn't show visible support.
  3. lol@siilaanyo doesn't have sons. I thought Hersi was his son.
  4. lol@song. Carabtu heeso xumaa horta.
  5. ^Subhanalah. The Houthis are targeting the wrong people.
  6. This is a serious allegation. If Siilaanyo's son died trying to inflict harm onto innocent people in a neighbouring state, Siilaanyo has truly failed the people of Somaliland. Even if the son went rogue, it is indicative of a failure as a leader both at home (family) and in politics.
  7. I honestly believe Siilaanyo is too old to lead Somaliland. How he got an extension to prolong his time in office baffles me.
  8. MOGADISHU: Dozens of Yemeni refugees fleeing the fighting and Saudi-led airstrikes in Yemen have arrived in the northern parts of Somalia, local officials and the U.N. said Tuesday. At least 32 Yemenis arrived by sea in the northern breakaway area of Somaliland and the semiautonomous Puntland region Saturday, according to the U.N. refugee agency. Some 12 Yemeni families arrived at Berbera port on the Gulf of Aden after traveling from Yemeni’s third largest city of Taiz, where warplanes had carried out strikes targeting the Houthi rebels, Omar Abokor, the deputy manager of Somaliland’s Berbera port, told reporters Tuesday. The arrival of the Yemenis is in stark contrast to the usual flight to Yemen of hundreds of Somalis escaping violence and poverty at home. Yemen hosts more than 238,000 Somali refugees, according to the U.N. refugee agency. Concerns were also being raised in Somalia over a potential backlash against Somali refugees in Yemen after the Somali government expressed support for the Saudi-led airstrikes against the Houthi fighters in Yemen. Somalia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement last week that it stands by the Yemeni government in its war against the rebels. The Somali government’s decision to publicly support the assault on the Houthi rebels may endanger the lives of Somalis living in Yemen, said Hassan Abdullahi, a university lecturer in Mogadishu who studied in Yemen.

  10. Ayan Hirsi is a fraud. She got caught in the Netherlands for making things up just to further her political career. She lacks credibility.
  11. owever, Somalis are not alone in their exploits in Africa businesses. A number a countries have seen a large increase in Ethiopian, Eritrean and Chinese traders. The fact that Ethiopians are picking up the game is little worrying. Are these Amharic/Tigre speaking? I don't think I have ever seen media or others talking about Ethiopians being competitive in business anywhere in Africa. Hopefully the reference above is to Somalis carrying Ethiopian passport.
  12. I have few questions for the guys who run this so-called academic journal 1. Before you launched this journal, have you made a genuine attempt to find qualified Somalis to add to your team? 2. Will you make the necessary changes now that this issue has been brought to your attention? Great work Safferz for spearheading the campaign to highlight an issue which has been ignored for so long.
  13. Wonderful work Safferz. This is the kind of activism that makes a tangible difference.
  14. leading a federal state is a hot career nowadays for Somali politians.
  15. This is interesting. It is an escallation if sort
  16. I think his demands of who can or cannot attend on behalf of SFG was over the top and out of line. I am not surprised the SFG is taking this hardline position.
  17. ‘Disabled ISIS’ What an idiot. School leaders must take action. This is unacceptable.
  18. Wina, 40, has been a widow since 2001. Her only stipulation is the man must be Muslim. An ad for the two-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a fish pond (asking price $76,000) reads, “The bid of the century!” Buy a house and marry the owner [terms and conditions apply]. For serious prospective buyers only. No negotiations.” Lia said the stunt is the brainchild of her realtor and she is totally onboard with it because “…I’m really looking for a husband.” The realtor tells Time the ad has already captured people’s interest. “Since yesterday morning there are continuous calls, I don’t count how many, there must be dozens or even hundreds.” He also added that tying you don’t have to tie the knot, noting, “If someone just wants the house, they can have that.” Read More: Buy This Woman's House and She'll Marry You | http://thefw.com/buy-this-womans-house-and-shell-marry-you/?trackback=tsmclip
  19. Another one bites the dust? Don't mess with Safferz.
  20. Is not good to oppose other people’s president and call him complicated warlord, every tribe has their own leader, still we denying having one president and one country, fallow me is not like fallow each other. Gooni, Hiiraale had his time in the limelight, and it best he retires in peace and let Somalia have peace. Comparing him to Puntland president is being disingenuous.
