  1. Lighten up Ducale. Tallaabo is my witness that this one has some merit saxib. Until literary giants like Hadraawi reject its authenticity, Ducale is just hating on this masterpiece.
  2. It was yesterday that I was reading on another case of a sick man trying to kidnap a 5 year old girl with his bajaaj. Alhamdulilah the police caught him before he could do anything. Isniin, Feberaayo, 26, 2018 (HOL) – Ciidamada Amniga ayaa gacanta ku dhigay mid ka mid ah darawalada Mooto Bajaajta oo la baxaday gabar shan Sano jir ah sida uu Hiiraan Online u sheegay Afhayeenka Wasaaradda Amniga Cabdicasiis Xildhibaan. Gabadhan oo ay wada socdeen Abaheed ayeey u suur-tagashay darawalka in uu la baxsado gabadha yar kaddib markii uu Odeyga isku dayay in uu lacagta siiyo kaddib markii uu soo gaarsiiyay goobtii ay ku socdeen, hasse ahaatee inta uusan lacagta bixin Odeyga Darawalkii wadey Mootada si deg deg ah ula dhaqaaqay gabadha oo wali saaran gaariga. ‘’Abaare saacadu marey aheyd 6:00PM Maqribnimo xiligii Salaada ayeey u suur-tagashay ciidamada Amniga in ay muddo gaab ku soo qabtaan darawalka iyo Gabadhii uu la baxsaday Agagaarka Ceel-Gaab, waxaana hadda gacanta ku haya laamaha Amniga’’ ayuu yiri afhayeenka Wasaaradda Amniga’’ Cabdicasiis Xildhibaan. Magaalada Muqdisho ayaa waxaa beryahaan ku soo badanaya falalka kufsiga ah ee lagula kaco dumarka, waxaana degmooyinka ugu badan ee kiiska kufsiga uu ka dhaco ka mid ah dagmooyinka Kaaraan, Kaxda iyo Madiina sida ay HOL u sheegeen hay'adaha baara falalka kufsiga ee ka dhaca magaalada Muqdisho. 3. Elders will get involved because af-huuroyaalka that is all they do. But I think this may be different this time because the rape victim is dead. Good job Burco doctors. Allahu nahariisto.
  4. Soomaalidu waxay ku maahmaahdaa, Digir-cune kaa adkaaday, waa kugu dhuusaa. It is our fault in many ways. AUN askarta dhimatay.
  5. Wasn't the government telling the public that UAE is behind all kinds of mischiefs in the country? This is remarkable.
  6. I don't know if this is a good or bad plan. On the one hand, the plan may reduce explosive-laden trucks from entering the city. On the other hand, it makes the city seem like a big "gated community". If you fence up the urban areas, you give up control of the rural areas outside the fence.
  7. Oodweyne, we are talking about the future of Somaliland's next generation. A commercial contract between a foreign entity and the government of Somaliland shouldn't be a secret in a democratic country. The item I listed on #6 is bothersome, to say the least.
  8. I am looking into the Bosaso deal with DP and the Mogadishu Port's deal. Hopefully, I will get all the facts.
  9. I found some information on DP World's contract with Somaliland on Berbera Port. I can't see how this contract survives once Somaliland gains confidence and starts to get on a better financial footing. It is going to be rejected by future governments. Same re-negotiations battles will start. DP World shall control 46% of the joint venture Somaliland shall control 35% of the joint venture Ethiopia shall own 19% of the joint venture. DP World originally had 65% controlling stake before it sold 19% to Ethiopia. DP World shall control five board seats out of the seven total. Not sure how many seats Ethiopia will now get after buying a stake from DP World. Somaliland shall have 2 seats on the board. DP World shall pay $5 million a year plus 10% on port revenue to Somaliland for the duration of the contract. DP World shall support Somaliland’s fisheries industry DP World shall help build the road between Somaliland and Ethiopia DP World shall build a four-star hotel in either Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, or Berbera; DP World shall grant Somalilanders favorable migration terms to work in Dubai. DP World shall implement a free-trade zone to support the development of trade through Berbera
  10. "waar odaygii doonoo duco ugu dara waad na dubateene" Galbeedi's concerns about this water project were often dismissed as nonsense. Time to find him and loo duceeyo. It is shocking that 370 million dollars are missing. Where is all that money?
  11. Suldaanka, you seem to be more interested in jabbing the great @galbeedithan give us any convincing evidence that Djibouti took the decision it took because of Somaliland. Your entire argument is based on the timing of the announcement. I say the timing is not suspect. Until you give us more evidence, we just have to agree to disagree on this. Does anyone have the Somaliland-DP World contract? Here is more from the Djibouti-DP World dispute.
  12. Suldaanka and Oodweyne are taking things out of context. Following are facts to consider: DP world has been fighting contract issues with Djibouti for the last six years. The Berbera and Bosaso deals are fresh deals and a last-ditch effort by DP world to “diversify” and spread its risk after contract disagreements with Djibouti. DP world has majority voting rights in the Doraleh port when in fact the DP World’s ownership is only 33%. The other 67% is owned by the Djiboutian Government. Djibouti’s government wants to change the unfair contract they signed when they were desperate. I would do the same. DP World has been demanding that Djbouti NOT build any other ports or expand existing ones. DP’s demands are unfair to say the least. Djibouti’s Ghelleh was the biggest supporter of Kulmiye Party (the current ruling party of Somaliland) during the election. Wadani came out against the port deal publicly and Djibouti did everything it could to undermine Wadani in the election. Mr. Bihi, knew about the long battle between DP World and Djibouti long before yesterday’s news. He has a very close relationship with Gheeleh. DP World/Djibouti contract dispute is expected to have no impact on the two presidents' relationship. So saxibayaal, I hold a different view. The Djibouti/DP world issue has very little to do with Somaliland. Let us not smell smoke where there is none.
  13. Somaliland:University of Hargeisa Goes DotSo of the Somalia Federal Government! The Republic of Somaliland’s state-owned, state-run University of Hargeisa (UOH) goes under the official Somalia Federal Government domain DotSo (.so). Permission for use of FGS domain was granted UOH by the Somalia National InformationCommission – SONIC – and the contact address is retained by it, with the technical email remaining under the official admin@sonic.gov.so (the gov standing for the Somalia Federal government). The University of Hargeisa has in the past used domains ending with DotCom or DotNet, maintaining its independence and identity as a Somaliland university. Inexplicably, the UOH chooses to share the official Somalia domain .So with the University of Somalia (www.uniso.edu.so), Mogadishu University (www.mu.edu.so), SIMAD (www.simad.edu.so), Kismayu University (www.ku.edu.so), and all the rest of Somalia-owned universities. Unlike the UOH, Puntland universities, which rightly fall under the Somalia Federal Government, choose to remain with their .Com and .net domains: PSU (Garowe): www.puntlandstateuniversity.com, East Africa University (Bossasso): www.easafricauniverrsity.net. The University has been on the up-and-up since 2003 stepping on to an upward-inching path to excellence which led to the new leadership taking the reins following a sputtering period the university suffered. Under the new administration that has taken over the university helm some three years ago, the university has made a number of changes most of which, hitherto, going the right direction. It, to cite but one example, joined African and international university associations to lend credence to its accreditations. It also stepped up its postgrad programs and gave a complementing facelift to its main campus. Of late, a great deal of shady, little-known developments had been surfacing that none of which has been submitted to or approved by a hodge-podge university council that, itself, hardly comes together. An investigation into how many other deals has the UOH going with Mogadishu is, certainly, in order. The current UOH leadership, in this latest development, crosses the education border over to an area that squarely lays them bare to criminal litigation and a possible indictment on high treason. The Republic of Somaliland restored its 1960 independence in May 1991, following a thirty-year domination and untold of suffering in the union it joined with Somalia on 1 July 1960. Somaliland towns and cities were totally demolished, hundreds of thousands fled over to Ethiopian refuge centers and equal numbers died, were maimed or suffered irreparable traumas under the brutal Somalia-dominated, military regime of General Siyad Barre.
  14. If historical borders are not important to stay with Somaliland, why advocate for SSC with borders defined by the same colonialists? If clan lineage is not enough to stay with Puntland, how is it enough to form SSC based on clan? The Dhulos family is only one father removed from Puntlanders in terms of clan lineage. I don't know if Mr. Osman presented a convincing argument here.
  15. Consider the positives again 1. Oodweyne will be in charge of the pie 2. His pie got bigger 3. He is eating it in his house (Hargeisa) Perfect opportunity to whip all the ninnies forever, right?
  16. I hope it is part of the unity discussion with Mr. Biixi to move Somalia's capital city to Hargeisa for good.
  17. Well, let us look at the positives. For the first time, the government found credible intelligence and gave warnings to the public. The next warning they give will shutdown the entire city because this one was proven to be right.
  18. As much as I hate Arabs exploiting and taking advantage of poor African countries ruled by corruption, I think Djibouti's decision may damage the country's reputation. Any breach of contract like this gives future investors a good reason to keep their money in their pockets. However, China doesn't care and may be angling for the opportunity to takeover.
  19. Anarchist wing may have helped the terrorists. How is it that a dying terrorist with their backs against the wall due to Trump's daily bombardments, is able to mount a spectacular attack? They are getting a lot of help.
