  1. lol legend...you are quite creative in thinking innit?
  2. Yes, you heard me right! Men are just cool, I'm not for being butch or anything but in terms of behaviour I think women would lead healthier lives if they had more men attitudes. Even though, there are hormonal factors that should be taken into consideration.Besides that, women could learn plenty from men, no wonder guys are so easier to get along with! When men don't like eachother they fight cleanly, no hair pulling, no face scarring, after that usually they might become cool after few days. They rarely seem to hold grudges, on the other hand, cat fights are nasty, there is no dignity, if the other girl trips we don't even wait for her to get up, we start beating her some more. Women hold longer grudges for eachother, also they continue this fighting relationally via gossiping, and ignoring or giving the "cold" shoulder to the outcasted girl...which is just plain evil. I think women are evil.I say this as a woman .Women take everything personally, they think every look is because so-and-so doesn't like them, and they are super conscious, men have higher self-esteems.Another reason women should learn from men is that men have better coping skills, seriously, I'm sure many ladies can relate when I say most men "think" about why they "feel" bad, or "negative". By thinking about your problems you prepetuate it some more, which is why more women are depressed. Men on the other hand, watch a game, or hang out with their homeboys. Finally, men always have good things to say about other men, but women always have negative things to say about other women...coincidence?
  3. You can forget injuries, but it's hard to forget kindness. Kindness is priceless, even smiling to your sister(or brothers to brothers) is zakah or charity. I think we are lacking kindness in today's world, I mean somalis are the least smiling people, especially the girls never smile to eachother, they have to look at other women with contempt and jealousy. I don't have problem with guys, but I think the sisters need to start treating eachother with kindness, and following the path of the sunnah of the prophet Muhammad(saw). Hadith - Muslim & Bukhari "Allah is not kind to him who is not kind to people." I noticed I don't smile to other sisters as i used to, probably because seeing all those "non-smiling" people rubbed on me.Insha'Allah I hope to smile more, you never know what someone is going through in their lives. They could even be lonely and smiling to them makes a big difference. That's part of kindness, and I believe as a muslim we should all strive for being more kind, because Allah loves kindness. Kindness, pass it on!
  4. ^I concur, for all we know you could be looking like this <img src=" www.uglypeople.tv/ugly-people/ugly-girls-3.jpg " alt="" /> just like that...if the pic went through. [ August 22, 2006, 00:04: Message edited by: Legend of Zu ]
  5. AAliyah, wa alaykum wa salaam! That's a smart idea having invitations, and security guards to enforce it. Plus, that will have enough food for everyone, some of the women were about to fight over food last night as if it was the UN hunger relief. I bet they weren't even "invited" and they want to attack the food servers. Pathetic. I don't think many people get the concept of a "marriage" ceremony, no it's not a club, no it's not just for you to get free food, and why don't they ever bring gifts to the bride and groom? After all they spent so much money on everything else.Yes, dirac is getting on my nerves.
  6. ^no place to sit and eat...i never reread what I write!
  7. Yes, I was in a wedding last night, and every gangsta wannabe somali girl and guy came. The place was crowded with "uninviteds", there was a place to sit and eat. The music was super loud, and the dance floor was jammed "clubbers", even the family of the people getting married couldn't dance. Why can't somalis have normal formal weddings like everyone else?
  8. I don't think it's just somali women who think that, it usually is universal.
  9. ^lol The thing is these supremacist bigots are so full of fear and paranoia, that they think muslims are a race, they forget we are all people, so they can give the middle eastern looking or pakistani looking people in lines, but what about the chinese muslim, or the white guy? it wouldn't work, it's just paranoia, I think they live in so much fear I wonder how they survive these racist bigots.
  10. I don't see why you posted this topic since we all know Islam doesn't condone terrorism, muslims are the victims and being called the "terrorists".
  11. Socod, don't dare say I follow Islam blindly, I am not muslim because my parents are muslim because I know my deen, and I have no doubt that Islam is the correct path. On the contrary, many christians are taught to not question their faith, to believe in the trinity blindly.
  12. That was so beautiful, i got teary eyed thinking about my mom, and how I should be a better daughter.
  13. ^stubborn due to brainwashing.
  14. ^Yes, sometimes I feel that too, not only christians, but some plain atheists.
  15. ^of course they can, somalia isn't 100% muslim, I know many people who say they are muslim simply because they are somali yet they don't even practice it.It's sad that any somali who was born into the haqq of al-Islaam denies Allah, and chooses falsehood, yet people who weren't raised muslims are coming to Islaam. I guess we need to learn our deen, and hold on tight to Islaam.Islaam is everything, this dunya is nothing.
  16. HOw about getting a job, and supporting yourself?
  17. I knew a guy would eventually post this topic. Yes, I know many married women, when they go outside they look masha'Allah. When they are at home, she is wearing a wrinkled baati with suugo stains, and her house is there. Most somali women don't take care of their bodies as well, carbs are not your friends. But, who am I to judge? Maybe they have certain circumstances for appearing that way.
  18. I don't htink it was a real masjid too, someone should make fun of him and show him how it feels.
  19. ^^Lol hyam, I remember those banned sites in Dubai, but I kinda liked it because it filters out so much garbage.

oh quit whining and get married
  21. what the heck was that yahuudi doing? Was he in a real masjid, if so, I hope he got a beat down, complete with his mini hat taken off.
  22. When I was in the Emirates, I didn't speak arabic so obviously I didn't know what the heck was going on in the news. Alot of rapes here and there, but most of the ppl there are foreigners, so they don't want to get deported.Actually, when I was in sharjah, I met this emirati (loaded) lady who expressed her distaste for Indians, and she felt they were "taking" over her country. I think she is right.
  23. I personally follow ahlul sunnah wal jama3ah, i have nothing against salafis, but they seem super strict, especially the reverts.
  24. I agree, most of our parents mix culture with deen, I think the newer generation, or the ones who are more educated know the difference!
