  1. Israel is commiting crimes against humanity, this is no longer a muslim issue, they are also killing christians in Beirut.
  2. subhan'Allah, that is the saddest thing, may Allah grant her recovery. The man looks like a moryaan devil, he looks pure evil. I hope he gets locked up in a hole,so he doesn't hurt any more women.
  3. ^LoL tenacious, so true, I was just thinking that Ethiopian girls mostly dress like hoochie mommas. Alhamdulilah, we don't "bare" it all, which is good because we are saying "mind your business pal".LOL
  4. Do you ever feel that when you pray, you don't feel nothing, you feel almost mechanical? Your mind is elsewhere, you yawn, you want to get it over with, you feel tired just thinking about making wudhuu. How do you improve this, and make your prayer more real, and from the heart? Also, on a tangent, what if you feel that some duas are never accepted? Doesn't Allah accept all duas, or do they get answered in different forms?
  5. Ngonge, for the first time I agree with what you said. Somali women are taught that they have to be behind the "man", that the man should be the brain, and she should do the cooking, no siree bob! From a young age, our parents drill as on basically making the "man" happy, what about our happiness? Shouldn't we have a brain that works once in awhile? We most certainly do! There are no rich "faraxs", get over it, it's a myth. And if he is rich he is probably 40 and owns his own business or something (too old).My solution is as a woman you shouldn't be fiercely independent, but while working with your man, have your independence, don't lose who you are!
  6. My advice is, if your hormones are raging out of control, get married, he doesn't have to be rich, and who says you can't still be in school. Hence, you can have your cake and eat it too.I feel that in today's society, we are taught to find the "perfect" person, to be "perfect", newsflash! there is no perfection, this is dunya, get real.

^Rendev..what does this have to do with girls needing to learn their culture. Excuse me but I call that bull, and hostile sexism towards women. Why are women always attacked, and accused in most cultures when they are the actual victims? What does this have to do with this topic. Yes, molestation happens in happens in somali communities, most often by very close family members. It's hard to speak about it because you feel this deep shame, and the sad part is you shouldn't feel that way, it's not your fault. You didn't deserve that.I know.
  9. YEs, Mel Gibson was wrong to drunk drive, but why are the zionists in Hollywood trying to ruin him by labeling him as 'anti-semitic', I like Mel Gibson, and I don't think he is anti-semitic, what happened to freedom of speech?
  10. I personally think somali men are waaaaaay better looking than ethiopian guys, they are taller, and have good hair, and they don't smell like injera habashi (no offense). However, I think ethiopian women dress better than somali women, and they are thinner. But, somali girls look naturally prettier ( ) than ethiopian girls, and they have softer hair, and more asymetrical features, hence more attractive

Have you been ever molested? If so, have you seen your aggressor years later, and what have you done? P.S. I know this is a sensitive topic, but I'm sure there are many people out there who have faced this, and has been a trauma in their lives even in adulthood. You are anonymous after all, share, maybe you could help someone who doesn't know what to do out there, who is facing the same problem.
  14. Devilangle, you make no sense whatsoever, I don't even want to listen to what a self-hating black woman like you has to say, I'm sorry you are ugly. Tone, let's get real, you know it happens.I hope the next generation of somali men can change this pattern, and that the next generation of women stand up against it.
  15. ^Clearly you didn't read properly what I wrote above, as I firmly stated it doesn't apply to all men. Yes, the truth does hurt.
  16. If he will bring home the halaal bacon, why should you say no?
  17. Also, I personally wouldn't eat in front of somali men because Somali men stare at you if you are a woman like there is no tomorrow, it's quite annoying and unIslamic, since men are to "lower their gaze". But,in this example of the restaurant I gave, women are customers as well and deserve to be served the same way. Why should I "xishood", there are things you have xishood for and there are things that you don't.
  18. Endeavor, why shouldn't I eat at a restaurant? Am I not entitled like any "somali man" to go to any restaurant? Like I said, we don't even recognize oppression even if it poked us in the eye socket!
  19. And, no not all somali women are oppressed, but let's say the majority.I hope this chances, and we apply real Islam.
  20. And yes wiilo, I am "western", because i live in the west.
  21. Wiilo just because ISlam says women have rights, doesn't mean it's applied by people. I'm sorry, but you must have blinders on.
  22. I've made lots of observations, and I have concluded that most Somali men are oppressive to women. They basically view women as second class citizens. Not only in Somalia, but also in the west.Alot of these views that men have about somali women is basically what they say is from the religion, yet most of them don't even know alot about the deen. For example, men are served first in everything, from food to getting other things done. Men are held in a pedestal and women are treated like they are insignificant. For example, why is it somali restaurants, they allow men to sit in the well lit areas, the cleaner areas with the t.v., yet women have to sit in a hole that's unhygenic, and bore lighting (yes, I have experienced this, and I was hungry so I ate there anyways ). Men can do what they want, no one criticizes them, and when I usually say "no one" I mean the women, yes the women are the ones who are propagating this oppression on themselves by allowing this to happen to them.Females are treated like crap basically, and they think this treatment is okay, they actually believe they are "free", and criticize western women and how they are oppressed, even though I do believe they aren't very free, I also believe they have more freedoms then somali women. The clothes of the women is more probed, it's sometimes annoying, do I have to drag 50 feet of cloth to be considered a chaste woman? Ridiculous is all I have to say. In my opinion, the majority of Somali women are oppressed, and they are allowing this to happen to themselves.
  23. Ethiopians get out our lands, you filthy kafirs.
  24. Subhan'Allah, she was so beautiful, may Allah help her family find the killer, and grant her peace and Jannah, Ameen.
