  2. Good development for the Maakhir community to organise itself. LST, you are being prosemptious. haven't you read the articles? This Maakhir conference distances itself and takes a stand against puntland who waged a war against Maakhiir villages.
  3. How many have already died for in the conquest for minerals and oil without anything being drilled or mined yet? Cade Muse waged many conflicts for his oil and mineral conquests and at the end made puntland more unsafe and unstable then it was. Unfortuantly the prospect of quick money has turned many blind for reality. We will see where this will lead to.

Burn Notice;687795 wrote: Drilling success in Puntland = Oil Infrastructure Development = Jobs for Somali Men who can get up in the morning to go to work = Money into the local Economy = Greater Stability and a future for your children This would surely be a good thing for Somalia, or perhaps that is not what you want? At first sight your equations seems very simple and sounds to good to be true. But unfortunately history has showed us that in every unstable country, oil drilling or mining minerals fuelled decades of more conflict and led to more bloody conflicts. Much has been published on this topic. And to my knowledge countries where conflicts existed have not been stabilized by oil money the contrary is true. See the example of Congo, Sudan, Algeria, Angola, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Myanmar, etc. The best thing Somalia needs today is genuine reconciliation, rule of law and stronger institutions. And not the prospect of oil money, which has already led to local conflicts and skirmishes in puntland and which could lead to more destabilisation and bloody wars. Money is not the solutions for Somalia's problems today.
  5. Who is your all time favourite ultimate leader who Failed? I have to say Sharmarkje jr makes the short list. He will be remembered as the fat guy who made it to Head of Goverment, only because his father was president 40 years ago.
  6. Did you know that Faisal Ali Waraabe was the head engineer of Muqdishu city for years? He is the one who has contributed to the beauty of Muqdishu. Unfortuantly he likes more Addis then Moqdishu nowadays. how ironic.
  7. I think a muslim Oromo will finally lead the great Abyssinian empire. They are the majority, they are oppressed, they are muslim and nationalist.
  8. Where is A_Khadar? And why isnt he commenting on the latest news in SSC?
  9. Before I begin to loose the count I made a list of all the political failures from Somalia. Lets have a look at all the former President and PM of Somalia from the last 10 years only! 10. Interesting, the TFG doenst support the SARACEN contract.
  11. By saraakishe MSB I assume they mean soldiers from Gedo. These men who destroyed the country wont make any diffrence today.

  14. JB, I dont think this is true. Double check your sources.
  15. Its funny that some comment negatively when Somaliland says it gets hope from South Sudan indepedance. But if ONLF says the same, then nobody says a word here on SOL. They mock the Somaliland flag, while never mention the ONLF flag, they are against Somaliland's indepedance and support ONLF ambition for indepedance. ONLF doesnt want to join Somalia, they want to create their own country. They call their land, ******ia. While hundreds of diffrents clans live there. While nobody accuses them of Somalidiid. ONLF intimadates poor nomads with all their diaaspora funded guns, and still they dont see that as clan agression. looooooooooool at all the double speech.
  16. Zenawi's time is maybe coming to an end, but Ethiopia as a country has been there for millenia's and is here to stay. Everything else is whishfull thinking.
  17. Xaabsade has done well for his counrty, I think he has proved himself to be a leader. Its good that he gets a Ministerial position, so he can fulfill Somalilands ambitions eastwards.
  18. Ethiopians are unreliable people. that is what they all have in common. Even former Presidents defected. Many have defected from OLF and OLNF to the goverment and vice versa. So these defections are nothing new for those people.

  20. Millions of Somli's live peacefully in Ethiopia, I have never noticed any oppression. I like travelling to Ethiobia when I am on my way to Somaliland. I have met many Somali's who work there, do business there, etc. And if any of them wants to write an article, so be it. But who cares about some refugee's in foreign lands who even can't visit their own country. Lol
  21. Sxb, Silaanyo is your president and Somaliland is your country. Its better for you to accept it sooner then later before you miss the boot.
  22. Those people from Somalia who are now in Somaliland are by all mean refugee's. That is not my opinion, but that of the UN, Somaliland goverments, etc. And how would you call people living in UNHCR tents within refugee camps, standing in line for food, depending on handouts? Tourist? Sxb, you don't need to be angry with me. I have not made them flee their land. You better adres TFG and AMISOM who target civilians on daily basis.
  23. Abdi, you should stop insulting girls from Somaliland. As you know your leader Faroole is married to a Somaliland Women.
