  1. As said, it is typical of these morons to treat minorities in such a manner. Horrendous. [/QB] Indians are way far the majority in Dubai comparing to the Locals who barely form 20% of the population. So sxb, look for another terminology rather than the West practiced Minority vs Majority.
  2. Since the topic fits perfectly with our Nomad psycho game of "Who is to blame". I have no choice but to point a finger (as we normally do)to: - The poor Waiter for not taking care of the Kid before he get toasted.(I hope he is recovering from the Cigaal beatings and got his Xuquuq before the Tarxiil). - The Dad for sending Mum to unspecified business meeting and taking too much Samagon instead of the more acceptable lighter versions in Dubai. - Last but not least, Who can blame the hotel for hiring Dr H Al-Mulla as their lawyer? That factor only can prove they are totally blameless.
  3. Yaabka, You started from the dead-end phobia (Hadeey xumaato kawaran) and your newly found solution for that is the most extreme someone could have ever come up with. Take it step-by-step until you reach the last distination (Marriage). If you have some sort of phobia about shukaansi, just play safe and hook-up with someone you really know or a kind of arrenged one.
  4. lol Aaliyah, It is just like the old Arab saying La Tas'al Al-Dabib Is'al Al-Mujarib. Faraha hadaadan kaga guban Shukaansi ma adaaba Khabiir noqon kara. I'm just a light weight looking for a quick (productive ofcourse) access road. Just teasing the expert Macalinka ME, to share some wisdom with Doobabka.
  5. Camel Herder, You can seriously fill that position. After all, a camel harder has all the skills neccesary to be a perfect goat herder. (with out the prejudices) One last quick word, Dont forget to sexy-up your CV and include all those transferable skills you may have had as a GeelJire.
  6. Me, Follow some ruthless but effective steps if you want embrace that kind of system. To start with, Dont chat over the phone in a long period without seeing that person in the flesh. Insist to meet the person face-to-face and have serious conversation in the first Two months. If not possible, just move on. If that hurdle overcame then, Know the family and the background and dont accept those cheap (I am not ready yet, to introduce you to the family) excuse. Then, talk about the serious business of the newly forming Kingdom and negotiate effectively the earliest possible dates that, you both can form that long lasting Kingdom. Hope that helps [ July 31, 2007, 07:03 PM: Message edited by: YoniZ ]
  7. AAliyah Sis, It is a kind of strange not answer or call back when somebody calls you particularly when that person is "The Special One". Having said that, we only heard one side of the story so, we cant conclude that, he has some serious issues there. He might have his justifications not to call or answer phones. A good friend of mine, never had owned a mobile phone. He is living in this fast moving Western environment and doing fine in his career and as far as I know his family live. An other important point is, some people are more passionate when they have longer breaks by not contacting their loved ones (call that reckless if wish). Some men also feel not to be under Radar all the time.
  8. Shukaansi sanado socda waa waqti dhumis (Ijiid aand ku Jiido - aka Gacma daalis) ee hadda waxa ka danbeeya fast-processing system isticmaal sxb.
  9. Sheikh Nur, That is a typical Somali man's daily live back-home. If mobile phones never being invented this could have still being the case. I dont see anything thing wrong not calling home for may be eight hours and keep all the assurances and passion for the other 16+ hours.
  10. Very sad news, Allaha u naxariisto wiilka Eheladiisana samir iyo iimaan ka siiyo. That area is well-known to the locals and the police alike as a drug dealing and gangs hang around spot. The epic center of these activities is a Caribbean barbershop not far from the Stockwell station.
  11. "Easy come easy go" is the case of the Somali military strenght in the 70s. Nomads never worked hard enough to build that kind of structure. If some one want truly understand the sudden downfall of that mighty military, don't look at far away, just examine how a poor country can afford building that kind of military and know-how. The Soviet generosity (craziness) built that military and sadly it was them who destoried it several years later, when they realised it was a madness to arm/train unsustainable Nomads. It is unwise to moan for an unexpected windfall of fortune that came and lost in short period of time.

  13. I do really feel sorry for those confused girls and the young Nomad generation in Europe who has been terribally failed by their parents and community at large. I dont get why we always scream "shame"! when these kind of actions occur. It is just a reflection of Isbaaro back home and the negligence of the Nomad parents in Europe to their childeren. I hope those girls will overcome this difficult period in their lives and be successful in the future.
  14. Xanthus: Was coming to the UK worth the trouble? [/QB] I will say absolutely, every step or penny spent in that advendure worth it. UK never disappoint the ambitious Nomads with pre-calculated plans. does it?
  15. Northerner, shame on you man . You are in Dubai, the birth place of DIB, one of the most successful IB in the world and saying not fimiliar with IB terms. IB is a lucrative business, genous economic philosophy and more than that, it is an answer to the western banks' dominance in our daily life. There is a long way to go challenging those well established banks. However, they are gradually reaching the standards of the western banks or exceeding in some places like Dubai. IBs are more than avoiding interest(riba), it is a nationalist idea and the heart of the economic self-relience. It is exactly what Malcom X proposed in the April 12, 1964 in his Ballot or the Bullet speach. "The economic philosophy of Black Nationalism only means that we should own and operate and control the economy of our community." This is what all the fuzz is about.

You should try to do better than the western bankers' simplistic idea that Islamic banking is an other name for interest, or exploiting the relegious bliefs. If you look back to the success of the conventional banks, the most important factor in that success is their product/service differentiation and innovation in a rapid base. The more innovative the bank is, the more it generates income and attracts new customers. That is exactly what the Islamic Banks are doing recently, and the same reason why the Western Banks are panicking. The legality side of the IB products is more complicated than a simple black-and-white issue, so, let us leave that to the professional Isalmic Scholars in that sector. One last word about Sukuk or (Islamic Bonds) as it is marketed, according to Islamic Finance Qualification IFQ edition 2, p.177 "Sukuk always linked to underlying assets(whether tangible or intangible assets). Holding A Sakk(the singlur term of Sukuk), represent a partial ownership in assets. This means the Sukuk are neither share nor bonds, they represent a little of each". in page 179 "Sukuk holders have the right to profits but also bear losses" This is the future of raising money for my white elephent projects, so don't spoil it .
  17. Some of the Nomads in Western Europe reached there in adventurous(or call it if you want daring mission)route from Eastern Europe. I remmember once, walking nearly all night(9 hours) in March between two borders where the snow still lays thick on the surface. What really makes me laugh is that, we had several overweight Xalimos among the group and bleive it or not they were more adventurous and daring than the skiny Faarixs who could not cope with the situation. The group did crossed atleast 7-8 countries before each member reached his/her favourable destination. that is what I call a Nomad's adventure.
  18. An ideal place to sell British scrap as a 5star luxury hotel. These guys are obsessed with everything British & even buy their doggy po* gifts and turn into tourist attraction. who can blame them? It seems they atleast can get away with it, and re-export to a second class British obsessed folks. kudos to Dubai entrepreneurship.

Sheh, You should apply to one of those recruiting consultant positions. I am sure you will suprise the HR recruiters if you put all the interview techniques you mentioned into perspective. Good luck for job hunting
  20. Kashafa, there is something like an equity market fever in the Gulf states right now, created by petrodollar liquidity and London attracts them more than any other city. The best way seems passing one of the FSA exams and gain approved person status for activities such as, broker fund advisor, managing and advising on investments. Some of those exams are not as difficult as the people may think. The second step is to seek working for one of those small investment funds specialised in Middle East area until you build your own client base. One valuable thing in this sort of business is the connections with the 'high net worth' individuals. Gulf Arabs seems to get on well with educated Faaraxs more than any other nationality, ofcourse when you indulge their Mujamala style. With relentles-hardworking and smart-networking skills one Faarax may one day establish his Fund and we all work for him.
  21. Private equity is where the hot money gathers today. Petrodollars is one of the biggest factor in these growth. London is the best place to grow your ambitions of becoming fund manager. Faaraxs/Xalimos can have a piece of that cake if they have a finance background and can speak fluent Arabic.
  22. This culture thig is sometimes more important than the relegion for some people. SubxanAllah! I am not that good in somali maahmaahyo, but there is one says "Nin rag ah ciil cadaab ka dooray".
  23. The problem lays with those communities and how they treat the family concerned. Remember, the family is acting according to their community's cultural prjudice, and have to act if they are willing to be part of that community. The ****** thing is, killing your own child in order to be accepted as honourable member of the communinty. The joice looks clear, either the community or your kid.
  24. Stay seven days inside, in your in-laws' home! what an adventure of self discovery and restraint? It is a wonderful experience though for shy guys like me.
