The numbers may be a fair representation of the military and their families who settled in Moyale. At the end of the day Moyale is a triangle border town, Xero askareed.

YoniZ, Moyale is in the Oromo region according to Google map. Did the border of the Somali region change?

Liban is now part of Oromia.

cadnaan1, the city is now deep in Oromo territory. The city and that entire bottom wing of the Somali region is chopped off.

mate it does not long when you have 40 million people.

And most importantly when you are busy fighting at the core.

Moyale was flashpoint between ONLF and OLF. OLF wants to use it as entry point, but the Ethiopians leapfrogged them and went to Nairobi and pick them up from there. They acquescence some Kenya police and pick OLF from back.

Moyale is too far from Jigjiga, too far from Mogadishu too far from anywhere. The Somali will come back if trade between Kenya Ethiopia uses this place.

If Kismayu recovers and joins the port competition for Ethiopia then Moyale may be even forgotten totally.

I commented about the dire prospects for Somalis of Mooyale and Jinacsani about three years ago, but unfortunately we could only talk about them and watch their rapid Oromofication. Diridhabe was taken before and more territories will follow if the Somali people in Ethiopia do not corporate for their common interest.

The problem is capacity. Prioretizing is done as per capacity.

Jigjiga can only first look to Oromo that is close and threatening cities and towns then as capacity allows can move to outerlands.

The idea was to work with the Federal government, but that also became a problem since the Somali had divided alliance. The Oromo also suffer the same with divided alliance, but in their case both OPDO and OLF had the same objective, Oromo dominance.

It maybe too late, but still Smali kilil should work with the federal government at a minimum for safety of the people.
