Treaty to keep the Horn peaceful from what??? That period of time was called the 'Scramble for Africa' because many European countries systemically divided Africa among themselves with the help of sheep-like clans. Did your ill-informed clansmen actually believe Britain's scare tactic. Were they comforted by Britain's pretentious assurances that they will be protected from the "monstrous" France and Italy (note the sarcasm). Falling for the strategies of colonialism is not 'playing smart', it's being weak. After all that crawling behind Britain your kin have nothing to show for it. No independence, just a continuous degradation of character.

But all the coastal clans of the north signed treaties with the British, including the USP clans except for the khaatumites due to their being far off in the hinterlands.

Che, Saalax is right, Somaliland was never a colony but rather a protectorate.

For the ignorant people. The difference between a protectorate and a colony. Italian Somalia was

an colony, were's Somaliland was a Protectorate.

Southerners are ignorant people like Che Alshabab terrorist. They want to share a country with us

yet they don't even know the history of Somaliland and the difference between protectorate and a colony. :D

Colony-Placed lived in and controlled by people from a distant county

In an historical context, colonies should be distinguished from protectorates and protected states, which

though under British control, were nominally independent states, whereas colonies were part of the British state.

Italian Somaliland, also known as Italian Somalia, was a colony of the Kingdom of Italy from the 1880s until 1936 in the region

Ohh the mantra that is continuously repeated. Golden words that just seem so far fetched. Alas be comforted with the fact that the sun will still rise tmw, in the face of reality, with the blue flag waving throughout North Somalia.

Zack It is sad you don't know the history of your own region. The Ocaden desert was seceded to Ethiopia then

that use to go by the name Abyssinia in 1897. The Mad Mullah's wars in Somaliland came to end in 1920.

He had 23 years to fight for his own land in Ethiopia. But at last he was chased like a coward to Oromia

running away from Somaliland :) . He should have fought for his own land in Ethiopia where there was

Abyssinian aggression, wasted opportunity eh.

Ocaden is a territory of the Somali Regional State in Ethiopia. Its people are primarily ethnic Somali and Muslim. The

Government in Ethiopia is Christian. Colonial powers left their footprints in this area beginning with Italy in 1880, followed

by Great Britain in 1896, then ceded to the Christian Kingdom of Abyssinia in 1897, reverting back to Italy in 1935-42,

and back to Abyssina/Ethiopia in 1942-48.

Siyaasaddan reeraysan maad iskaga dhex baxdid wax aan naxli iyo cuqdad ahayn ka dhaxli mayside. Kuwaad maanta sidaa u fogaynayso laga yaabe inaad bari u dhaxdo. Adduunku waa laba galin ee dhiigga ha isku karin. Waa iga talo. Lol.

Aaliyyah Anigi talada iga go'da and Culosow understands that. As long as the sons of the glorious SNM decide

there will be no blue flag in Somaliland including your beloved Las Canood, it will stay that way. :)

LOL you want to try to differentiate between the words two colonists used to describe their occupation. So typical of weak people to find solace in the term 'protectorate' used by their British Master.

Another entertaining thread. SOL is certainly boring without our friends from SL. This is why we have to stay together, we need each other.

From all those distatorus things that were happening at that time. It is common knowledge the British were interested in

the coastal areas of Somaliland to provide goods for their Aden colony. Somaliland wasn't even a colony. They were

never interested in the interior until the terrorist Mad Mullah started attacking the interior. We can say most of the

damage inflicted in the interior groups is because of the terrorist Mad Mullah who didn't even have the

guts to free his kins in Ethiopia who were facing Ethiopian aggression at that time including leading

to the deaths of thousands of Khaatumos.

Unless you have been living under a rock Somaliland is a sovereign state so technically it is independent hence

why your "Somalia" officials including your uncle Ali Khalif Galaydh the man who embezzled many funds destined

for the south can't set foot in Somaliland nor can he visit his so called hometown of "Las Anod".
;)

On top of being a sovereign state we also have little stooges whose lands we control by the

names Xaabsade, Xaklotoosiye and other pay phones. I think that is pretty impressive, only de

jure recognition is left.

Saalax your tribalism has no boundries, please tone it down. And stop insulting our politicians and fellow citizens.
